I have a MX5800 open cab and a box blade and you seem to smooth down the top very well. I noticed you hooked up the top link to the category 1 pin which is smaller than the lower category 2 pin. You might get excessive wear on your top link with the extra play in the bushing or put a cat 1 bushing in the top link to make up the gap around the pin. I have a quick hitch and like it for the rough cut mower, snow blower and box blade. Sometimes you have to adjust the top link in or out to hook to another implement.

John, good catch! I actually have a bushing for it but I am usually in a hurry and forget it. I am pleased with the 5400 but one complaint I have is it does not have a good place on the back for a tool box/ bushing holder. I have been trying to buy a Quick Hitch for about 2 months and no one local can get one. Appreciate the comment!

Is that a hydrostat MX5400? I sounded like it but im not that familiar with them yet. I have one on order that is gear driven. After watching the hydrostat vs gear driven video from Messicks on youtube i went with the geardrive because i will be plowing and discing a bit. They seem like pretty amazing tractors thanks for the video!

I have the gear driven model, I grew up mashing a clutch so decided to stay with it. If you were going to use loader a lot hydrostatic would be the way to go but for what you are doing I think you will be pleased with it. I have been pleased with mine! Thanks for the comment!

Is that a 72” box scraper? Wasn’t sure if that size covers the rear tire tracks.

It is 72”, with the r4 tires, it just covers, practically the same width
