They have electric steering on the Zero turn, more than likely we'll see something similar with the lawn tractor. To be fair, the steering system is extremely simple. It's akin to my 86 craftsman that's still running and mowing. I would BY FAR prefer a manual raise and lower on the mower deck, if you bog down too much on electronics, it becomes impossible to maintain.
It looks like it's weak bushings, but if you want to decrease the rattle, a little padding would prevent it. It's meant to be a cheap to maintain lawn mower...and you can't get much cheaper than a couple rods made of steel and aluminum. It's kept my craftsman running for near 40 years. Yes, the chunk of change are the 6 large amp hour batteries, the rest of the mower is what makes up the other $1200.
Thing is, the sale is those batteries, since they run everything, and you can order E-Go tools without batteries for a big discount.

I'm glad I held off buying one. Maybe Ego will work out the bugs, we'll see.

Yup, for $4K a quite front end would compliment the electric motor.

The steering definitely needs to be addressed. The nice thing about this kind of information getting out is that it will cause sales do drop prompting major price reductions to begin. 😃(there's that sale I'm looking for!) And this will force EGO to re-design the linkage so it doesn't rattle like a kids toy. And if they're smart, they'll make it so it can be retrofitted to the current model. That is if they care at all about customer loyalty.

Thank you very much. The sterling mechanism must be addressed. Then I will possibly get one. Ego when will this be corrected.

I hope they take this feed back and apply to the next iteration.

they will probably fix it in a new updated version, when they be, never know, (6) battery that is $1,800 dollars, they have 4 versions of the push mower from ego, maybe they have another version of the EGO Power T6 the sloppy version, next one could be the EGO power+ T7

My JD LA145 had a crappier steering set up. I agree it is sloppy but it steers with much better ease than my old JD. My biggest complaint is the delay in response going from forward to reverse.

I agree that delay is so Gimp, this is why you can't rock it when you get stuck.

    It's not a $4000 mower. It's a $2000 mower with $2000 worth of batteries.
I have the ZTR, on my 3rd summer now. To me it feels like any other "cheap" brand, nowhere near the sort of performance of a gas $4K mower. I have had zero issues with mine other than a flat tire from something poking it.
My ZTR feels light and loose-footed when I mow with it. Any sort of slope and it loses traction.

I have driven a go-kart and only wish the steering was as tight on my ego rider.
That clanking is also the support arm that has the one bolt front center banging back and forth about 1/16 of an inch in the cradle that house the arm. I tried to remove the steering wheel bolt and it is in pretty tight, will attempt again another day. Glad you posted the steering slop. Maybe Gen 2 will be better.
