Helpful video, I’m glad I’m not the only one that had troubling loosening that arm! Tip: easier to do in a warm car- the plastic is less rigid. Thanks!
You are correct about the blue side up. That is confusing, however. The filter door has an arrow pointing upwards which is NOT airflow direction. That arrow is for orientating the door so that it fits properly. Airflow is from top to bottom. So the arrow(s) on the filter itself indicate air flow direction...which is downward. So filter arrows point downwards.
You did good! Great job!
FlyboyTR Thanks so much for that clarification! I did see the conflicting arrows and wondered for a moment if I had the filter positioned correctly, but I’m glad I did! 😄
@@LivingBigInAPrius ,
My pleasure. It really is crazy confusing. Again...you got it right! :)
This was a really confusing reply too, did she put it in right or should the filter be flipped?
I'm guessing the lower airflow is because the HEPA filter is denser than the OEM one. Just means the air will be cleaner than the original.
I have a 2016 Prius. Call your Toyota dealer and ask their service department. When you buy parts from someone else, they ALL will tell you 'this is the part you need' but it might not actually be the part you need. Prius is a mystical machine and the engineers have connected all kinds of things to all kinds of other things. You will pay more for that at Toyota, but you will definitely get the proper part.
Very true. I get my cabin filters from Toyota again ($26) and just install them myself. With how cheap the overall maintenance is for the Prius, this is nothing. 👍
at the dealer they charged me C$32.99 for the filter plus C$25 labour to install. The Bosch one as shown is C$19.21 so around $20. This video is very helpful and next time i will do it myself.
Put your knee pressure under the opened glove box and the tab will slide off easier. Practice doing the procedure a couple of times before videoing.
Always get oem parts.
Especially when you own a Prius; it is a mystical machine.
Haven't seen anything from you for a while. How are you doing?
Hello! I am doing well. Thank you for asking! BIG changes are happening in my life right now and I simply haven't had the time to film and edit, but do stay tuned because things should settle down soon and I have new videos planned for you guys! Thanks for sticking with me! :D
You crash the new filter hahahahhahaha,😂🤭
Probably got the mouse at the RTR you need to watch the video about mice Scotty Kilmer channel. Mice will destroy that car.
You probably had a big hole in your filter and now it is. Functioning properly.
GEAUX FRUGAL I will check that out, thanks! The mouse didn’t chew the filter all the way through, just about halfway, but it was definitely responsible for the vibrating noises. All good now!
