Caring or assuming what people want is what holds an individual back.
So if assuming people want you to be real, still yields rejection, the internal response for someone struggling with acceptance could be devastating.
Never, not ever base your own worth on the expectation of others response.
Be giving to others. Be real for yourself.

Life can be so paradoxical. You spend the first quarter of your life being shaped and molded (for good reason) but it also strips you of so much uniqueness and qualities that make you" you". You have to go back and recover the things amd parts of you that you got cut off from, and incorporate them to your now developed self. Those things you've repressed, were repressed for a reason, to protect you. As you get older, you no longer need that protection. It's time to step into your light, so that your freedom may liberate others ✌🏿

You’ll never lose social anxiety without bravery. You’ll just try to avoid the fear so you avoid any situation which could spike that fear. To lose my social anxiety I took a job in sales selling subscriptions to people by ringing their doorbells. I would see dozens of people every day rejecting me telling me to f**k off. It wrecked me the first day, the second day, the third day.. till the day came in which I didn’t care AT ALL what the guy opening the door would think about me. Those few days prevented me from ever having unnecessary fear again.

Back to me at 14 years old I've been rejected and bullied at school. My classmates were making fun of me on the facts that I looked younger than others and had an acute's voice compare to them. Sometimes they tried to beat me up aswell. By looking at this video I remember this event was how all my social anxiety started. Hopefully I've walked a long way since this. I know I'm worth it, strong, confident and smart enough to be loved and I wont let enter any kind of people, who would be negative for me, in my frame as I know how to deal with them. Sometimes you have to get anger of your own situation and the way you're living it. You need to get anger on your depression, on your anxiety and tell yourself you deserve better than this and you're ready to fight it step by step. Anger helped me fixing myself and I felt anger aswell when this guy screamed at the end of the video. You need to revolt and to overcome what holds you back by yourself to be able to grow. F*** off everyone, I'm me and you better not underestimate it because I don't.

Thats why its important to get to know yourself, oftentimes we are bombarded with so much stimuli, or operating on someone else's program that our feelings are pushed to background and it becomes default. Start trying things to find out what you like. Get comfortable with making decisions. Start small and work your way up. Heck roll a dice if you have to. Just start making decisions. Once you get moving you can start to reflect and figure out what you like then you can start to develop your identity. Unfortunately none of this is easy and takes time. Its a journey not a destination. So learn how to get comfortable with yourself and figure out how to enjoy the ride. You'll get there eventually. Good travels

Julien in combination with the crowd did a stellar job of using both supportive and challenging techniques to unlock him. Such a great watch, and it's a video that will stay with me forever.
I always knew Julien had found a special framework with his letting go mentality, but this is the first time that I felt like I was right there in the audience with him and the rest of the fam too. So great pops to the camera man.
Continue spreading the light my friends.

The question asking seems good. But the theatrics around screaming, “I can handle the unknown,” seem either like pure theater. Or short term posturing.
I don’t think people build confidence by screaming narratives at themselves and others. I think they build confidence by building experience and learning from that experience.
Starring at yourself in the mirror doesn’t do much toward changing foundation or changing belief.

I can totally resonate with this and just even referencing the inner child and how I can be so harsh sometimes without realizing that its causing so much pain and always having to hide it and pretending to be tough when there's so many emotions that needs to be let out. So so proud of him and loved how you stood by him and waited for that child to express and be seen. Thank you for your teachings. So appreciated.

I'm not joking, I wish it was different. It sometimes happens in my life that someone tries to help me innocently but I get so emotionally confused over it that I escape and refuse. It's always men. Women usually take a softer approach and don't trap you when you need to be trapped. They don't want to hurt your feelings. I even wonder if this occasional sexual tension might be a factor that keeps me from overcoming my issue.

Laughed while listening to this while training. But that's because I can see myself in him + I don't see anything as cringe anymore, I see everything as funny. I was there once where I wanted to be perfect and everything was so serious and locked in, and I still have work on that, but I've learned just to laugh of everything I do most of the time and say whatever I want to and that helps relax me too and I just stopped caring and just live and whatever I say loud out floats with the south and me just going wild and free. I love julien because that's what everyone can become with hard work and trough progress. I love how he's so real and crosses his boundaries and jokes abt it as he can actually help him, and it worked. And creds to this man for making me laugh and trying everything to get his feelings out and actually managing it in the end, that's amazing

His body shaking/trembling at 18:35 while he was yelling off the top of his lungs reminded me of Dr. Peter Levine's work on Trauma therapy, specifically the application of bodily shaking movements to release trauma. Levine points out that animals in nature (deer, bears, etc.) literally 'shake off' a traumatizing incident, and he finds that people are able to accomplish the same thing when trained on how to do it.

I'm overwhelmingly grateful for this content & am really touched by the great perspective shared here. But I have an enormous issue with this idea that force & loudness proves a person is becoming unstifled. Especially after the person has already shown they are struggling to demonstrate this in front of people. I can't help but think changing the approach to getting him to say it VERY slowly and intentionally (literally taking complate breaths for every Syllable) would have accessed a different pathway for the same information to be received & accessed psychologically. After having accessed a clearer & more conscious part of himself he then could try this again with more clarity of self-animation.Sometimes it's not loudness that diplays being unstifled but the smoothness of a conscious soul that needs more mindful action before applying more volume to that action.
I'm sure this was a great reference & you can see the person really facing their shadow at the end & accessing the extra gear they had trouble accessing. Accessing this gear just seems to have more ways than aggression in the face of frustration.
    Just my opinion.

    • @msc8382
      @msc8382 Před rokem

I can clarify this for you. Its hard to proof it, so consider it a possible point of view to test against as opposed as some absolute truth.
Due to having different gender roles defined in society, we start from a certain balance between the two within us. As we grow up, we need handles to navigate the world so that we factually can learn things important to survival and ultimately thriving. Providing those handles is the effective purpose of culture.
This essentially means we can classify supporting other people in two distinct ways: Leadership and nurture.
Julien's approach mostly presents itself as self-leadership to actualise self-love. This means that no matter the impact or intensity, you allow your values to manifest because its valuable to you or someone else. In fact, even thinking about it is probably preventing your values from being manifested.
Nurture however is about allowing adaptation to happen within an environment, as opposed to within yourself. Its far more subtle but the impacts are just as great. Its about teaching others cognitive skills to have more opportunity to self actualisation and thus, self acceptance. Although depending on who you ask, its also transforming resources into something more meaningful or impactful for all those involved.
When people are balanced, it essentially means you use leadership to allow yourself to be nurtured, often by yourself, to rise to the occasion to what's value to you. To manifest it into reality. Consequently, we want to rise to the occasion to share life's blessings as that also helps validate the existence of your values.
However, if for some reason you believe your intensity, your values, have no place in this world, then neither leadership or nurture can manifest.
Julien is trying to make the people feel this in their body. The people are trying but cannot allow this self-actualisation to manifest yet due being buried under the expectations of others.
Now I do agree the more nurturing side might manifest greatly from an outsider's point of view. But really consider the audience. They're mostly males in there, and they mostly seem to struggle with accepting their masculinity. Julien basically had to represent the father figure, the unmovable rock, the mentor, the enabler as opposed to supporter. If you look closely, support is EXACTLY what the audience was introducing at some point, and Julien explicitly supported him AFTER he showed actual self-leadership.
Its all about perspective. Its quite possible you already own a great deal of ownership of yourself, and thus this level of self-leadership is rather approachable to you. If that's the case, it makes sense for me that you'd mention the need for a balance between nurture and leadership.
That's a good thing, it means you're already 'integrated' as they call it.
One last thing: Make no mistake, leadership and nurture are essentially the same thing, depending on what skills you utilise when doing the leading. A nurturing mother HAS to take leadership over the child constantly, changing diapers is a simple example of this. But we see it as nurturing. The great company's CTO has to be nurturing to ensure people do not bury themselves in irrelevant expectations. Just like how a father sometimes creates additional room for mistakes for their children by imposing rules that otherwise would lead to chaos. But we see it as leadership.
The point being, the intensity and intention should not matter when you are expressing yourself (to yourself, specifically). There should be no need for a distinction, because if the value manifests as it feels within, that means you've effectively communicated authenticity, the most relatable thing in history. Then it means mission accomplished.
      Hope that helped! Cheers!

As a person who also struggles with anxiety and stuff I respect the hell out of people that are able to just be themselves, that last scream the guy did you can literally see the moment he finally snapped and had enough with not doing the scream right, unlocking your inner child is the most important thing anyone should try to do , kids are always so free and just because we had some bad experiences and grow up with the pressures of the world, we lock ourselves away and refuse to let us feel. Kids have thousands of reasons to be scared but yet they’re not, we all could take a page from their book.
