    firstly, use some ratchet straps to secure the bike to the jack, second take all the slack out of the belt when trying to remove the tire, it makes everything much easier, third the belt pulley will come out, it's only held in by friction, there's rubber pucks behind it, it's the Cush drive. Also while you've got the wheel out check the wheel bearings, touring two up is a lot of weight on the rear end the bearings might need replacing. And go easy on the grease it's only there to prevent rust, the weight bearing components are sealed bearings that have grease in them, too much grease will attract dirt.

    Must support the wheel before removing the bolt??????

  • @thebeardedguyjefflawless5887

    You need to loosen the adjusters and the axle will slide right out

      And add a piece of wood under the tire to relieve stress on the bolt.

    You should strap the bike to the stand to prevent it from moving and possibly falling off when you are reefing on things.

    Wondering does the belt pulley just pull off the rim or is there some bolts that hold it on to the rim with the rubber dampers inside?

      Great question. The pulley does just slide off with very low effort. I was so impressed on how easy that part was.

    The belt tension specs on the book are wrong. They are too tight & will damage belt, wheel bearings. All 950’s are the exact same thing just different colors.
    I don’t understand why Yamaha never updated it. Tension should be between 7-10.

      how do you know the tension specs are wrong

      @@jeromejanci8318 it’s been a problem with many 950 owners through the years, we have told Yamaha, Yamaha dealers & Yamaha mechanics through the years but Yamaha never corrected it.

    How many miles did you get on the old tire?

    • @MrGman129
      @MrGman129  Před 8 měsíci

      The old tire was in need of replacement when I bought it. I usually get more miles on the tires than expected. This tire got less than 300 miles because of a nail. I then replaced with what came from the factory. I liked this tires performance better than the latest choice.

    What is all that wear around the face of the rear pulley?

    What did Matthew Coskey do ?

    • @MrGman129
      @MrGman129  Před 2 lety

      Mathew Koski robbed some banks. FBI kicked in my door and trampled my residence and commercial property and myself. God may forgive him but I don't know if I ever will. I never met him but I made sure I was at his sentencing.
