normally you would, then you would buy a adhesive replacement. if you keep it in, i suggest not getting water on it or putting it in water, because personally i wouldn't trust how strong the adhesive is after the repair.

Yeah my back cover just shattered when I got to an edge.
Overall decent video, phone works, forgot to plug in the power button the first time. New screen was aboun $90, now I need to buy a back panel ($20) and the tools to fix it cost me $20 - Mine came with new adhesive, but I lost the speaker grille.
Consensus - I could have bought a new used phone instead, but it was a good exercise.

It's best to get a service pack instead. It includes the mid frame, buttons, and lower charge connector. You provide the main board, camera, speaker, vibrator motor, etc. Basically enough so you don't need to remove the screen as everything that connects under it will be included.

Whats the cost for the screen? I see two camps on Ebay as far as price. those in the low 100's and 300 dollars. I cracked the screen on my S7 Edge this morning, but I went to see the prices and decided to go from gold to black. The tear down looks easy but I wonder why you didnt use a heat gun to loosen the adhesive? and will the new screens adhesive retain the IP68 water resistance rating? Thanks for your time and the tear-down tutorial.

You should have tried to remove the digitizer in one piece to reduce extra shards forming. Another trip to the hot plate would really have helped. For best results, I would apply fresh adhesive. I wouldn't have said "pry the board" up, "Lift the board" would have been better.

definitely more than that actually it costs 150 to 300 (average) just to buy the glass and touch digitalizer.

Just the glass is cheap, but separating that from the actual digitizer is near impossible without damaging the digitizer. Therefore, replacing both is often a better choice
