Angelina is excellent at everything she does and i truly love her singing this. Lauren Daigle is also a beautiful person and her performance is just as good.
Liz, she is all about love. Everything she does in her life relates to the kindness, the joy, the hope, the caring and the love we have for one another. She is genuine and the magnificence of who she is touches people's hearts in such a special way "we" feel a tender warmth in our hearts, something which wasn't there until we discovered Angelina, in some cases when she was 7 years old! The tone of her voice reflects the soulfulness within her and we hear it and feel it in the form of pure love. Once the door to our hearts open and let's her love come right in, it will never leave us. She will be with each one of us forever. Are you PROUD of her? And, are you PROUD of yourself? Has her being in your life made you a better person? Are you kinder, more caring and loving than ever before? How happy are we when we watch someone react to her for the first time? If they cry we cry along with them.
Liz, there are people in the world who resist opening up their hearts to feelings of love because they believe it makes them vulnerable. It's sad but things have happened in their lives which have hurt them so much they don't want to go down that road. Angelina will eventually get through to them and flip on that light switch which has been off for so long. Yes, she instills a shining light into everyone who listens to her sing AND finds out what a beautiful and wonderful human being she is. She is truly a Messenger of Love. Wow, you are so right. I don't believe anyone can surpass her 9 year old studio version of "I Put A Spell On You" but then there are about a half dozen others in line for second best. I've only found this the last few days and it's my opinion this is the winner for the number 2 spot.
This song is an excellent example of something she has always had that I call the Angeline affect . She transforms from her young lady speaking voice into her fine wine, decades spanning, cover busting singing voice that pulls you into the song like a magnet, with your emotions in tow. At the very end of the Christmas Show on December 23, 2021, (she was 15 and would turn 16 on January 10, 2022). Angelina performed "You Say", I lost my breath, and I got chills, and the tears began to fall. I am an atheist, and my faith is in mankind, not some mythical being. I believe the song "You Say" is referring to Angelina's Angles, those that support her in her quest. There must be a supernatural place in the universe, how else can we explain this being called Angelina Jordan.

Outstanding performance, incomparable..... I think the key to Angelina's success will be access to great songs such as this one....worldclass songs. I do believe that she can write or co-write excellent songs, but perhaps not Top 10 hits, that is a different task, not just a technicality..... paired with her Top 1 voice, she would be an instant star. This song shows what she is capable of doing given the right material.....incredible

Angelina had a live subscription video concert during the 2021 holiday season, lifting our spirits during the pandemic. She was spectacular. I captured the video and it is one of my favorites. She never released any songs to the public, but since this isn't getting blocked it must be be ok. My feeling about her interpretation - her life was turned upside down by the pandemic, and it may have been a difficult time for her. I think this was her thanks to her Angels for our continued love and support.
She opens our hearts from the very depth of her own heart. I remember when she sang it first at the christmas gathering online during covid. My tears flowing out throughout the song. Hearing it again, she still affects me that way. She is Love itself.

I clicked the link to the video as I love watching Liz's beautiful face as she reacts. I'm a bit past my expiration date (darn it) and have been around the block several times .. Vietnam, Desert Storm through to Afghanistan and all the bits in between in three decades plus. Seen things that most people should not have. I am saying that only to say that .. I find it quite wonderful that while listening to this for the umpteenth time .. that I start to tear up. Gosh. Why the beauty of her voice effects me so is amazing. Emotions trigger chemicals ... that may explain my reaction via science. Me .. I just accept that there are things in the world that really don't need to be explained .. just accepted as a bit of magic.

Beautiful reaction, Liz! This is what she does to all of us, and how we all feel. No wonder we love her like we do. It must be a combination of several factors I think. I would like to think that it has got to have something to do with the fact that we feel like we know her so well, yet we constantly see first time reactors who don't have that knowledge, ALSO fall head over heels. But to know her is an added bonus and dimension for sure. Then it HAS to be her voice, right ? The frequencies ?? A frequency that hitherto is unbeknown to science, at least as far as the emotions it evokes goes. Maybe it is her eyes?? Can we actually subconsciously see or feel her beautiful soul through them? What about her physical appearance? She's been having the same effect on people since the very beginning (age 6 and even earlier), so I think there has to be something about her very physical being as well. She exudes absolute calm, an absolute astute understanding and acceptance of her own self. A feeling she transmits to the listener and viewer that everything is OK or that it WILL be OK. She's some kind of safe haven we can go to (and that we go to as an habitual and almost subconscious act). And why is that ? We get addicted (a word often associated with some negative attributes) to this feeling and to this beautiful being who has the most incredible mix of tonality and vocal frequencies (coupled with an unimaginable musical understanding and vocal technique.) I speak from a personal point of view when I say that she is like a drug. Maybe I'm an easy target as I don't smoke, don't drink alcohol, don't drink coffee or tea or take any other medications or substances, but I don't think that I am. From reading and writing comments on a daily basis for 3-4 years now, I have since long come to understand that she has this effect on all of us. Which leads back to the question of WHAT it is that does it. I have been listening to her EVERY day for the last 4 years, and at least a few times every week the 6 years before that. And I have never tired. And I never will. She's a drug I am very happy to take 🙂 The only negative side effect I have found is that every other artists fall short, except for Aurora. Angelina as always, is able to convey the emotions she feels from the song, to us lucky listeners. Lauren Daigle wrote a beautiful song with a powerful message and Angelina did it justice.
Why does your mom's lasagna taste better than everybody else's? Perhaps it is the homemade pasta and sauce, or unique spices she uses, or special ingredients. It may be all those things, but most importantly It is because it is made with love. It is an intangible but you taste the difference!

This is a decent cover by Angelina but…Lauren Daigle’s original is so much better. A more soulful tone, clearer vocals….do more of Lauren’s music, she has a wonderful catalog of fantastic songs.
