I was born in Tacloban and got my education there until high school, then relocated to Manila to get my college education. Watching the video, I am a little bit disappointed. There is not a lot of infrastructure and no kind of development to improve the place. Compared to other cities in the nearby provinces, it seems that Tacloban is way behind. What are the local officials doing there?
Most of the budget went to relocation sites in tacloban north. That's the reason why tacloban especially downtown proper is left behind in terms of infra & dev't, aside from corrupt mayor & lazy city counsel!!! IBA NAMAN!
I stayed in Tacloban for two months. It certainly feels provincial. I had to go to Ormoc to go to Cebu and Liloan to go to Mindanao. The airport is a great. I hated the fact that there was no Grab taxi... nor any other taxi service. You had to know people. I don't recommend it for the average expat. There are no close-by beaches to hang out at. Because it is so small, all the government services are close by. That I liked. The food... I liked th Lechon baboy. That was good. As far as the restaurant featured here.. Blah... Not the best experience. The Ocho seafood restaurant was expensive and not the best. I should have known that it was not going to be a good experience when i went to pick out the fish I would eat... there were tons of cockroaches around the fish.. then while eating, i saw cockroaches crawling around the floor. Not the cleanest of places. But oh well, that's the Philippines.
@@b-41subject57 you have to catch a van. the vans are behind the savemore building in downtown tacloban. it's a 2 hour van ride... in my opinion, those drivers drive a little irresponsibly--so be safe.
@@b-41subject57 there is a nice spot to hang out you can walk from the downtown to.. by the Bureau of Immigration office. Or you can catch a taxi or tricicle and go to Marco's beach resort by the airport. Or go to the mc arthur monument park in Palo.
