- We pickup where we left off from the previous episode, stranded 3 hours out from Pattaya. After being scammed on our resort booking, we manage to find a similar resort with a vacancy where we can salvage our weekend and get the police involved to try and catch the original scammer.

One of the cool things about Thailand are the unexpected twists and turns that happen all the time. You guys made good on your trip despite the speedbump to start off. Looked fun!

The resort looked nice but having an activity schedule is definately not something I'd volunteer for, although I can see the attraction for a family with kids.

To keep the "Happy Ending" chain of good news going. Yesterday my GF asked her sister to wire 4000 Baht back home to Cambodia for some cattle related expenses. The sister inputted the wrong phone or account number into her banking app.....and off the money went, directly into somebody else's account. All day it was silence from both the bank and the recipient regarding this windfall and I assumed the money was gone forever. Last night we discovered that the recipient had actually returned the money! It was nice to have my cynicism over the situation invalidated. Glad you guys likewise had a happy ending after being scammed.

That was my favorite part of living in Thailand. It's simplicity of so many things. This video shows just that. Hoping to quit working again and retire in Pattaya (second time) before the busy season starts.
It looks like a fun place and time! I'm so glad you found the scammer. It's unlikely anyone will get their money back. Most scammers are fined a ridiculously low amount and no jail time.
Sometimes you are the bug and sometimes the windshield! So happy the rat got caught. The food looked good and 2 hour free beer helps you feel better. You captured people having fun that is what you hoped for. Good video and thank you for sharing.😊

This was great update on what I am guessing a "traditional Thai" vacation experience would be. Honestly looks like a great time, but I understand your fatigue after the unplanned drama. I might bring a blow up mattress if I knew the beds would be that way. LOL. I despise scammers, so glad to hear they got caught. Great content as usual.

I'm sure it's a nice getaway, but at times it seemed like a lot of people in one spot. I always am amazed that these resorts are way out in the middle of nowhere!! But very quiet and relaxing.
Man my poor back would be shot sleeping on that but still seems like a good deal. I hope they really caught that person and wonder if she will be able to get her money back.

Perhaps people will get their money refunded? 100+ counts of scamming should add up to quite some time in a Thai prison.

Glad the weekend turned out ok but getting scammed is not funny ! More and more of that these days too bad. I could not walk 2 steps on those mats; Lan did so well, she's really athletic. I noticed you didn't try Lucas. You coulda crawled !! The food and evening entertainement looked good, not so sure about those modified ?? pontoon boats.

Raft with PVC pipe, what could go wrong? LOL. I'm bring a lot of Mega Sunscreen in July if you need some. Do they have Canoe'ing or floating down rivers on innertubes? My family goes to a river with rapids called Current River in Salem, MO and they love it. Hope she is able to get a full refund.
I have seen the innertubes before, I believe in Kanchanaburi, that is another river recreation destination.

Never buy anything from Facebook, it’s every day stories of I’ve been scammed , just don’t do it or if you do please don’t moan about it on other social media outlets

Don't do group trips anymore. There's always people late to things costing others their time and experiences. In Europe we missed a complete stop because 1 person got back to the bus really late. And other stops on every day we were always waiting for late people to get back to the bus.
Very true, the Chinese tours do a good job with that, if you are last or late to the bus you are shamed by the others resulting in a total loss of face, for that reason, they maintain a decent schedule.
Whenever I see the sign resort I run faster then the speed my money will disappear if stop

if 100 or so customers had been scammed how was it a surprise to the owners when you turned up ? surely others had turned up before your party had ......on another note if your taking your own coffee why not take a kettle with you too then if theres no provision for a coffee your fully covered

I talked to the former manager, it was her idea to just have the mattresses on the floor. they had so many complaints of squeaking bed springs at night.
I appreciate the resourcefulness of the rural Thai people. Some safety chains would be a good idea on the wagons.
