How To Make Alcohol Ink Ripples and Lines (One Color Only Too!)

This is a single color alcohol ink painting where I build hundreds of alcohol ink ripples and alcohol ink lines. I used just one color of ink at the start and then I spend time making different ripples and lines within the painting.
I did also include a little gold mixative in the alcohol when I put that down as I think it really brings out the brown nicely! I hope you enjoy this and learn from the techniques I use.

Hi Nicki! I'm using Grafix Craft Plastic Paper, Copic Inks in Bark, Dark Gray, Powder Pink, and Piñata Ink in Brass :)

Do you use a very low-wattage hair dryer? Everything I try splatters across the page.

Hi! My heat tool is 300w and I use it on the low setting. Try coming at the ink from the side of the ink pool and very close to the paper, I find I’ll splatter more when I hold the air tool too high above the paper and directly on top. I hope this helps! And thanks for watching!

Hello! I'm using Grafix Craft Plastic in this video, its also warps like Yupo but its a bit sturdier so it takes a taaaad bit longer lol I also use the low setting on my heat tool always and try to move it around lots to prevent hot spots :) I hope this helps!
