  • In todays video the tanker is feeling heavy and i think i know what the issue is... Big hint? Dont use road plainings around your track if it gets wet and muddy.
I have decided to invest in a Gas Leak Detector. Can't say it's any good yet but i seem to be doing things with slurry more and more often. So here is the link if you fancy getting one for your self. Could just help someone else out.

There are stories of one man going in the tank and then passing out from the gasses , then a second goes to save the first and the rescuer also is overtaken, so good on you for not going fully in.

Yeah, those gases are nothing to fool around with. I find it always impressive in a bad way how often you hear of accidents around here where a farmer or someone at a factory during maintenance went into a tank or silo and things end bad. Sadly most of the times the firefighters do not only have to rescue one victim, but a second person who got in to try and get out the first person who passed out due to some sort of gas. And in many cases, we really talk about it taking half a minute or so, to get overwhelmed.
On farms this often leaves whole families devastated, when the old farmer went in and the son goes after him to rescue him or vice versa. Most times this hits the media neither makes it out again. In some cases one survived just barely, but with permanent damage.
Done properly in an industrial setup I have seen silos beeing emptied, ventilated in some way, either using a draft if you coud open top and bottom or using blowers. Carrying a multi gas meter than can sense a variety of gasses and give alarms if oxigen gets too low or if anything obnoxious (CO to name only one, but a lot of other stuff as well) is present in a dangerous concentration. When someone works in the tank, another person observes outside the tank, and sometimes I have seen something like harnesses used for fall protection used, not only to get in and out, but also to be able to pull someone out.

Best thing you can do with that tank is get a decent sized hole cut out near the front on whichever side suits. Then you can wash from the front. Yours Is only small, tandem axle 4000+ you have to get inside ☹️
I always strip it down at night and a quick swill of water around the top etc then it has all night to vent.

We don’t have to remove dribble bar just open the door and open the gate valve at the back stick in ur volume washer. 10 minutes all it takes. The door cost €700 extra. Money well spent.

So he went round the back of the Tanker and found a chicken stuck, he hadn't shut off the pressure when he pulled the chicken the slurry knocked him over and covered him with, well you know what. Probably fill with water then do a run with just water to flush it out fully through the pipes as well as the tank

Please get a portable gas detector for H2S/O2. They have special ones for the farming industry. You give me sweaty palms going into tanks and pits.
And put some safety glasses on. Please.
