My ford figo was flood affected during 2015 and it took 6 months to repair it. After servicing also the car was performing smoothly for many years. So we must stop undervaluing flood affected cars. The agony of ownership is doubled in second hand Market which is completely a false narrative.
I have seen many used car owners struggling with their cars/being cheated even after doing a enormous PDI checks. Whereas the original owners of flood affected cars do a panic selling of their cars and they do not realize that the flood affected cars covered in insurance is much much worthy than the non-flood affected cars. Infact, a 5 year old flood affected car serviced through insurance is as brand new than non-flood affected. Myths and misconceptions of flood affected cars in second hand car market should be busted.

My car as well impacted in flood in the same area where you shot this video. My vehicle was towed by MyTVS for repair and they gave the estimate over idv value, so my insurance company said this would be considered as Total loss vehicle.
One quick question, whether garage will charge any amount from me for lifting the vehicle from their garage for handing over the vehicle to insurance for totall loss settlement ?

What are the categories for flood cars?
There are 3 categories, Category A: Vehicle submerged up to floor level. Category B: Vehicle submerged up to seat level. Category C: Water level above dashboard.

As u said, if insurance declared my car as Total loss.. i will get only 7.5L which is IDV value. But it is a loss to me.. Since i paid 9L onroad cost. What i need to in this case? I bought extended warranty & Gold service from Nissan. The tax & other amounts which i paid could be loss. If i buy new Magnite car again i need to pay all the taxes😢😢😢
Yes no other go.. if you have added RTI add-on in the insurance at the time of insurance. You will get 95% of the on road price.
Bad thing is no one know about Return to Invoice add on. While buying car these showroom sales persons is not including that RTI add on. But they ask us to take insurance in their showroom only.
Sir, am in Thoothukudi badly affected by last month's floods. I booked with the showroom 10 days ago to buy a white new car. They said it would take four months. I also said yes and came back. Now three days ago they contacted me through phone and said that the next varient is available. I said yes too. They said they would give it in ten days.
Yesterday I called and said I don't want white and want blue. They said it will take four months. But Called 2 hrs later and they say blue is available and can be delivered in ten days. It's confusing. Need your advice sir.

Based on the impact.. affected spared parts will be replaced. You can show the repair history to buyers at the time of resale. If C, they can understand its not a major impact.

But the insurance company is saying they will auction the Car and someone will buy from secondary market, then they will give some money and only rest will be covered by insurance company. Is this how insurance works sir ?

Company assured they will be take care of everything from company insurance. But my question is once they rectified all issues can I get my car as like back like reliability, comfort? C level impact doesn't lose the originality. Replaced parts will be recorded in vehicle history.
