100% agree with the branding thing! Specially in con/market scenarios where you end up with lots of little bits but can't always remember who made what.
Also pro tip for the stickering of stickers, use all five fingers to speed up the process! Peel a sticker on to each finger and them bam bam bam, on to sticker backs. We do this in retail when stickering clearance apparel and it makes such a difference!
Get a branding stamp instead of putting stickers on your stickers?
i think depends on the paper itself. cause my friend also running sticker business and shes using vinyl for stickers and the back is plastic, the stamp aint works

Some really smart branding for tote bags I've seen is a thin cardboard/craft paper insert that both keeps it ridged for display AND you can print as much branding as you want on it!! The one I'm thinking of has a little art design on it too. I got this tote bag months ago and yet I can't bring myself to recycle the cute cardboard insert.
Since I make my stickers at home I’ve started printing a repeat pattern of my brand name and logo on the back of the sticker paper sheets
that's such a good tip!! what sticker paper do you use, does it just feel like paper on the back?

For your totes you should definitely get a stamp of your logo and fabric paint.
15:39 Tuna!! have you looked into iron-on clothing labels? I haven't tried them myself yet but there's transfers (which transfer your mirrored design directly onto the fabric) and woven labels (which are custom embroidered patches).
For tote bag branding. My favourite place to put branding is right in the inner seem of the tote bag between where the handles are. It’s more subtle but also in a place that’s visible. Not sure if the screen printing company can do it for you though (I hand paint tote bags so it’s easy for me to write it in)
Totally agree with the single sticker situation! Bags and cards is overkill and even if you do that, most people throw away the packaging and hoard their stickers. 😜 Stamp would be amazing but not all sticker papers take ink so I feel your label sticking pains. 😅 Necessary but annoying!
Oh, and as for the clothing label thing... What about the press on metal ones or attaching one with a rivet? Would def go quicker than sewing! (and I think the fold over + rivet style would fit your brand)
I agree with this so much. I watch some CZcamsrs get fussy about packaging and making it look so chic. Like no one cares about fancy wrapping paper, backing inserts or those weird torn paper inserts that make a mess when you open them. It all goes in the trash and is such a waste. I think a glassine or brown bag is perfectly fine. A stamp would on a brown or white bag too. Glassine is waxy and might not stick.
It’s costly and not environmentally responsible to have all this stuff. A bag and a business card will suffice.

Unpopular opinion, but I don't like "automatic freebies" either! Like if you have misprints or B grade stickers, by all means stick one in, especially if an order has several items in it. But this trend that every single order needs to have all this extra stuff... Nope, big nope. As a customer, I'd like to pay fairly for the things I want, not to pay extra for stuff I don't OR eat up the artist's profit margin because they 'have to' include this and that 'for presentation'.
To say nothing about the waste and unnecessary use of resources.
Personally, if I ever get my shop running, I will not be offering extra freebies or 'cute/aesthetic/instagrammable' presentation. For backing cards (I do think they can be necessary especially when sending stuff) I'll be using repurposed materials as much as possible (things like cardboard from packages I've received in the mail). That's not to say I won't be aiming for clean or cute presentation, just that it'll be function and environment first.
@@thinkerdreamersketcherspyl so agree about the freebies, goodness it’s annoying how people expect that now… but if I offer freebies they are like stickers with issues and for big orders. I also give them a discount code too.
I’ve also gotten candy, beach shells, cheap bracelets and other stuff I don’t want? And food is super weird to me, super weird. Like idk how long you’ve had that or what you did to it, so it goes all in the trash as I don’t want or need those things.
If large companies can get away with just the product, we don’t need to include extra stuff.
I also don’t like the branded boxes either because it tells everyone what you have and could result in theft. Some people do the branded tissue paper too and it’s just too extra, just make sure the product is shipped safely. Not everything needs to be this breath taking experience, if anything I feel the packaging can take away from the product itself when it’s so overdone.
99% of people don’t care and you’re wasting time and money on things people will forget about, don’t want and throw away. One artist I watch (I won’t name as I do enjoy her and it’s not to be dismissive) wastes so much time and energy making custom backing cards for everything, then seasonal thank you cards and rounding the corners and then is left scrambling to finish the actual product. I think backing cards are appropriate for a pin to keep it still in transit, but they’re not needed for prints, stickers, etc. I think it stems from perfectionism or a need to just wow everyone, when your art and product do that enough. One thank you note or a business card are enough and they don’t need to change every few months.

I recently sold at a local con and wrote my name at the back of most of my stickers. I usually put my brand sticker but I ran out. Wouldn't recommend writing it because it takes so long lol. I'm considering getting a stamp.
If you have a thermal printer you could do the black and white labels for the stickers like that. Saves money but you’ll have to cut them.

Why don't you get a hand sawing machine? 🤔I haven't tried one myself but I've seen other artists use it for tags. Also, ikea has some plastic string they sell for curtains when you trim them, you just have to use an iron to melt it. But both options are time consuming 😅
you could look into iron on "patches" or labels for your tote bags, shirts and hoodies! I think it could be an easy way for you to add your branding on them yourself :> not sure tho how the manufacturing process of those is

Seconding the iron on label idea! They’re pretty simple to just use your home printer to print onto iron on paper. And then a circle punch cutter if you want circles or could just cut rectangles
I know you had a short turnaround to find a branding solution, but I wonder if in the future it would be better to get a custom stamp to put on the back of the stickers instead.
So for my stickers I just make the white margin/outline a bit thicker and put art by inky on it with some adjusting to fit the shape. Other artists might use the @ symbol too, but I put the ©️ in front of my name. Super easy fix. For my sheets, I put my website in bottom corner.
You could also get a custom stamp for the back for the ones already made. There’s a lovely Etsy seller I’ve gotten stamps from-modern maker stamps.
You could make a backing card too, but it’s super wasteful and expensive for something that’s going to be thrown away and no one cares when they just want the sticker. I see a lot of CZcamsrs making this boujee/chic packaging, but I find it to be so wasteful for the environment and time.

@@ArtbyTunayou’re welcome! The custom ones are a bit more pricey, but they’re really good quality. I have some for stamping packages. They sell ink pads too.
If your manufacturer can’t print on the back of your vinyl stickers you could look into getting a stamp for the back of your stickers if the paper will take ink. Or making them “easy peel” which essentially makes them a kiss cut sticker on a small sheet and put your branding outside of the sticker. Hope I made sense 😅
For the display, could you use sticky magnet paper to turn your stickers into magnets (just for the display) and then get a sheet of metal and it would be easier to move them on and off as stickers sell out during the show. A local maker space might be able to custom cut your logo into the top of the metal board and 3D Print legs to hold it up 😊

I feel still quite new to CZcams, however I built a large Instagram following which over time has assisted me in creating a full-time business as an independent artist. I also have an established local presence, and repeat business comes along with that. Thank you for watching!!
I think this would be a great video if Tuna is comfortable with doing that. I’d love a video too as it can be discouraging when views or follows are way down.
I've definitely had times where I forgot to take a business card or take a picture of it and walked away not remembering it was from. Maybe a custom stamp might be easier?
Also, the music during the prep montage sounded like something out of Sim City. 😂
As far as putting branding on the screen printed items, could you maybe get a custom stamp made (or make one) so you could add it after the fact?
How about making a block print design that is small enough that you could do in white ink on inside or outside of bag….
Why not sneak in art by tuna into ur designs so it prints with your name. I did that with some of the stickers I made

Hey! You definitely can use the Epson ET-8500 for art prints! It’s a great printer. They have a large format one too.
