TBF, Liverpool had it much harder. They were about to go into administration before they got bought. And the people that bought them weren't oil-rich Sheiks, but rather cautious and thrifty businessmen. So it took much longer for them to climb than it would have under someone like City's owners or Abramovich. United's biggest problem is not really about the money, but rather a lack of team spirit caused by inept managers, fans' pressure and undisciplined "big name" players. It is relatively easier to fix that than the Liverpool situation. All they need to do is make smart signings, sell off bad characters, get a long-term manager with a clear vision for the brand of football he wants the team to play, and stop this egotistical nonsense of "We're United. We are better than that." No you're not better than that. That's why you're currently in "that". Lower the pressure on your manager and players. Stop demanding to fly when you can barely jump yet.
