"Hacker-come-musician Sam Battle dealt with the loneliness of going solo in typically inventive manner: he gave his synth a face. Now making electronic agit-pop as Look Mum No Computer, the 27-year-old started out, like many before him, playing guitar in bands. But he’d always been into DIY, taking his dad’s soldering iron to household appliances as a kid and teaching himself to circuit bend with his toys.
Eventually, he built up to making weird and wonderful musical machines: check out the flamethrower organ which shoots jets of fire as it plays, or the fully-rideable synth bike, which pumps out beats to the tempo of its wheels. And let's not forget the terrifying instrument comprised of 50 singing Furbies. Essentially, he’s a modern-day musical Frankenstein.
In this energetic See. Hear. Now. session, you can see Battle playing Kosmo the modular synth. This huge touring synth, he says, is relatively 'sensible' by his standards - aside, of course, from the aforementioned animatronic face.
Unsurprisingly, Look Mum No Computer’s songs are often about embracing a lack of convention. Second track Groundhog Day rails against the monotony of a 9-to-5 existence governed by Post-It notes and promotions, while Modern Gas calls out the hollowness of politics, capitalism and social media. ‘GAS’, Battle tells us, also stands for Gear Acquisition Syndrome: an addiction to purchasing synths."

I don't work for anyone, run my own graphic design business (alone) and compose and perform music. This type of creative lifestyle is far from boring day to day all the same. Every month at the end of the month I don't know if I will be homeless....don't know if enough money will be there to pay bills....not boring at all....:)

We don't have any other politicians as long as we keep voting for the ones that are already in power.
And we don't have any actual alternatives to Facebook as long as so many people are only on Facebook and not on the actual alternatives that already exist.
This is called the network effect.
It doesn't feel like it would make sense to sign up to another social network as long as you friends are not signed up. But as long you don't sign up your friends won't sign uo neither. And Facebook only makes sense because all of your friends are already there.
We had the same problem when the telephone was invented. Why should you get a telephone when nobody else has one?
This sounds like a hen-egg-problem but it is a little bit more complex. The usefulness of a system that is subject to the network effect is raising together with the number of users of that system.
Also many people don't want to vote for small parties because they think they won't make it into the parliament anyway. So you only waste your vote. But many of those parties only won't make it into the parliament because so many voters think like this.
I often thought about an additional vote for everyone that solves that problem. Your primary vote goes to the party you really want to support. Even if it's just a very small one. Your secondary vote will go to a party where you have no doubt they will make it into the parliament. But it's only counted if the party that gets you primary vote actually doesn't make it int othe parliament. If in your country the parties are financed with tax money based on their votes, only the primary vote counts. This way you even support your favorite party when they won't make it into the parliament.
