    Good to see you've secured your rods now Matt heh (Decent excuse to buy something new though haha)

      Haha yeah quick release leashes so I can disconnect easily if something gets tangled👌. Full transparency the new rod was sponsored by the awesome team at Burnsco. But it's an absolute beast of a softbait set!

    Are you hanging around te kaha for a while? Do you want some tarakihi marks only 2-3k off shore

    • @nickabowl1
      @nickabowl1 Před měsícem

      Also, if you want to make some friends around there, if you are not eating the head and frame, call into a few houses around the area and offer them to the locals. They love them.

    • @NomadicKayakFishing
      @NomadicKayakFishing  Před měsícem

      thanks mate. I'm long gone from that area now but i'd love to got back for some terakihi one day... please don't comment any marks though, or everyone will steal your spot lol

      yea have done so in the past, always some friendly locals about who are keen on a feed of fish heads. i actually ate the wings of this fish in a soup and filleted the meat out of the cheeks for a feed.

    I have never bleed out a Schnapper and the meat is always clear..... Just wanting to know why you do it

    • @jaenhermez2279
      @jaenhermez2279 Před měsícem

      i never use to also but the flesh last longer if u do, try a comparison next time and check it out

    • @KingsWithAndy
      @KingsWithAndy Před měsícem

      I find they last longer when bleed out… it’s a small difference but if your hanging you fish whole they can last upwards of a week when bleed correctly and iki.

      @NomadicKayakFishing  Před měsícem

      I used to be of the same opinion. But clear meat doesn't mean perfect meat... removing the blood tends to give the protein a more mild and almost sweeter flavour. It also lasts much longer in the fridge, this fish was still fresh 6days later👍
