I just sprinkle some water in my rice. Same results. Same difference.

Had the exact same comment. I keep a food grade spray bottle filled from my filter pitcher. Mist the rice and stir, do it again and it's ready to reheat. I can use it for the microwave, although I typically use a double boiler on the stove unless I'm in a big hurry. It's also good to lightly mist leftovers before you wrap them in foil. You can pop them in the toaster oven to reheat and they aren't dried out. That would probably work with plastic wrap or a plastic container in the microwave, too.

I've been living in Asia for over a decade they leave the rice in a rice cooker throughout the day and nothing goes bad.

      Two things:
      1) When you eat rice regularly, your whole life, you can build a tolerance to that bacteria
      2) Frankly, most Asian countries have easier access to higher quality (therefore safer), rice (and also eggs and fish). Western countries tend to have access to healthier red meat though.

@@jonathanj.jimenez9031 they might’ve meant complete protein? I don’t know the exact science behind it but I’ve read when you eat rice in addition to beans, it becomes a “complete protein”, containing all 9 essential amino acids which our bodies can’t produce on their own

Just wet a paper towel and use to cover your rice as you microwave... or just get a rice cooker/warmer like every other Asian person... though we finish our rice daily.

This all depends on the density of your freezers ability to. Ice out of my small refrigerator/freezer melts thoroughly while reheating my rise. Yet the ice cubes out of my larger freezer don't melt.
PS. Make sure you are using great quality water to make your ice. If you use tap water or store bought water it can leave a weird taste after reheating.

Once I was in the middle of eating a rice dish and got called into work for a couple of hours. When I got home I realised I had left my meal in a sealed container but just on my table. Didn't think anything of it, nuked it for 5-6 minutes, and ate it. Spent that same night trying to sleep on the bathroom floor because of how often I was throwing up I wouldn't make it back into my bedroom before needing to vomit again. That "throw out after 2 hours" isn't just overcautiousness, its the real deal people.

It seems like many of the cautions I've seen about reheating food involve our old friend , The Microwave Oven. My poor, lonesome microwave sits atop the refrigerator and comes to life occasionally to heat liquids or bake a potato. I have never reheated rice in it. I always rinse and soak my rice prior to cooking, but It doesn't take as long as beans, so maybe smaller batches will be better.

Use fork to poke holes in baking paper lying on top of metal steamer basket. Put cold leftover steamed rice on baking paper to steam. After scooping out the reheated rice, discard the baking paper that has rice stuck to it. Less scrubbing and cleaning on steamer basket.
