Inner Scars Opening

- On this day, June 18, precisely 1 year ago, I uploaded the preview for the Inner Scars animated opening. Now, a full year later, the full opening is finally up.
I really hope to work more with the characters and reveal more about the story as time goes on. I've been putting my heart and soul into Inner Scars for over four years and now it feels like it's all wrapping together.
Due to the fact that a good portion of the opening was animated over a year ago, I would very much appreciate if critiques were not too harsh or overbearing on clips that were created a long time ago. Thank you for your consideration.
I do not think I will be animating Inner Scars as a full story, but will most likely present it in comic or written story format. Unfortunately animating takes too much time, and we all can see how long it takes me to even make one small opening.
Well, the truth is my work load from school has lessened quite a bit and I really want to create more Inner Scars related pieces.

While I do agree that the animation style is a little under-practiced, the actual delivery of the animation for this opening is amazing, not to mention the beautiful song and overall feel of it. This looks like it would be an amazing anime, I'm just incredibly sad that it's not real. Well done 😊

Hype af! While it isn't typical clean anime style, I don't think that fluidity really detracts from anything. The characters seem interestingly connected (not just boring romance) and the title "inner scars" followed by someone's face exploding? That was spooky. In a good way. MORE!
I'm just sad it's not 4 hours long.

OMG first of all, I've been waiting for this for ages so I'm super pumped right now XD
Secondly, that was literally the best fanime-related thing I've ever seen! While there are some other crazy-awesome fanimators, they usually have really shaky shading/highlighting or they lose the proportions a lot when they animate, which I didn't see a single bit of here!
Thirdly, I was actually thinking for most of that while watching it "nope. this isn't real. I don't believe you, you traced the whole thing!!" because it looks so professional... I CAN'T EVEN jsndfkjsdnfkd

Hm. It's interesting, since I was exposed to your work via your Heathers animatics, and I hate to say it because I genuinely love those, but this isn't all that good. It tries to have all this color and shading and complex shit that's hard to animate well, which just makes it difficult to make polished. Compare that to, say, your Meant to be Yours animatic, which has the fire, which is a little similar to the elemental stuff here.
The big shame for me is that this doesn't play to your strengths, or at least what you've learned making the animatics; character moments. You give the characters so much more character than most other people--Elemental FA has lovely drawings, but their interpretations of the songs just aren't as... individual as yours. It's like you know them _outside_ of the songs, where a lot of people only look at the song itself to inform their decisions when making their videos. But this video doesn't really take advantage of those strengths, because it piles up a lot of other stuff that kind of takes focus away from that.
Did I just make this comment to point out how your animatics are consistently better than everybody elses'?

You make a valid point- since I've made this I've really wanted to try and push characters more than story or plot (which was previously what I'd always done and figured that it didn't make for a good story without character interactions :p).

Agh! I just wish i could give you a bajillion dollars so you would have all the time and resources you need to do and animate whatever u want. I wish i could do that for artists and creators everywhere, including myself.

my only critique, the character models, or at least their colouring, looks nowhere as crisp as the rest of the background, so together they just clash
