NACA airfoils are the best known aerodynamic airfoils, but where did they come from? Why are there different types? What do those numbers mean?
Continuing with aeronautical aerodynamics series, in its theoretical part, I leave you with very valuable information gathered from my studies during the aerodynamic engineering career, as well as the result of an arduous investigation in the NACA technical reports, where the changes made were recorded in their airfoil families, and the reason for their nomenclature.
