That's literally just what the average Canadian internet subscription is, period. Unironically $110+ CAD a month. We also only have literally ever (max) 2 telco's in any given area/serving any address, by design, so it's not like there are ANY other alternatives. In most cases, there is literally only one option, and really only one price. Period. And if you need a dish or any hardware, it's sure as fuck costing more than $600 for that hardware (in most cases for normal shit like modems you aren't charged unless you fail to return the hardware, but that's not the case for satellite). This is for actual, physical cable internet services, not satellite. Actual satellite internet service (in Canada) is just pointless, Starlink is the ONLY competitor (again, Starlink is ALREADY cost-competitive with literally every, average, normal Canadian Telco and ISP, and they're satellite based).
If Starlink cuts it's costs to below $100/mth, includes the satellite dish in the cost (of a 1-2 year contract, and other Canadian Telco contracts are 2-3 years to begin with) at least partially, and can provide service everywhere, then Starlink will immediately become not just directly competitive with but will probably start consuming MOST market share from the prevailing Canadian Telcos, and could literally run our ISP's entirely out of business. Entirely. Obviously, Canadian telco is made very expensive by how massive and sparsely populated Canada is, necessitating LOTS of towers/infrastructure which rarely serve many people, requiring just many, many more such towers than the average country -- hence why it makes so much sense for almost EVERY SINGLE rural resident of Canada to be using satellite, instead of broadband/wired (although everybody everywhere pays the same shitty, horrible prices, even if you're in a city where the actual cost to provide the ISP service is well below the charged rate).

A 2 bedroom apartment has ~50 m², since Nick wants a house with a tesla for everyone i'll take the liberty to add an additional 10m² for a garage and/or driveway. That brings us up to 60m² (kinda small actually) property for every person in America. With a population (estimate from 2022) of 333.287.557 thats a required space of 19.997.253.420 m² which is 19.997.253 Km², America however only has 9,147,590 km2 of Land. Most of that land is unfit for building a house and/or Industrial land. Everyone owing a house is quite literally impossible! I get what he means and i am totally on his side, but its not possible. Based on Math every citizen of the US can have at most 29,76m² for themselves and realistically speaking its even less. Ppl living in apartments and having a public transportation network is an absolute must based on how many humans live on this planet today, otherwise we can't guarantee housing and a decent quality of live for everybody!
