After accepting the Sorceress’s offer to teach you magic, you’ve spent the last few weeks practicing hard. Just as she promised, your magic has stopped feeling untamed…and, in spite of yourself, you even find yourself enjoying the time spent with the Sorceress. During one of your regular lessons, she finally opens up to you about her past. Regardless of what she’s done to you, you choose to show her kindness…and your compassion may make a greater difference than you realize.

Nightshade's notes: We begin to get to the heart of the forces and tragedy that have shaped this sorceress into what she is. Is it what you expected when the series began? I certainly didn't guess when I read the first script. And while there is no excuse for treating someone as she has... well, I have said it before, but I simply enjoy a good story about characters who learn and grow as time goes on. In fiction, I can forgive things that would not be acceptable in real life.
This may be a good time to gently remind my listeners of one of my community guidelines: I do not allow comments threatening or wishing violence upon the characters I portray. Because there are people who don't always recognize the difference between myself and my characters, these comments make me very uncomfortable. This sorceress seems to bring out some of the worst of that sort of comment, and, understandably, not everyone will like her or enjoy roleplaying this type of story. If that is the case, you are welcome to express that sentiment! But please do so without describing the ways you want to hurt the character. ❤️

Her subtle smile when talking about how her family would have loved meeting the listener is a beautifully touch. Just faint enough that most people won't notice, yet also prominent enough to actually and realistically portray her mindset and emotional state. Your attention to detail still baffles me. You create these tiny pieces of beauty that may never be seen simply because you enjoy the creative process and the quality of the end result. You could potentially become a full-time artist. The world would be lesser overall for it, and we would miss you a great deal (myself certainly), but you could pull it off.
Her back story really makes her sympathetic she doesn’t deserve to be hated just because she had magic.
I really love the abundance of purple in the character art (and not just because it’s my favourite of the normal colours). And purple or no purple, she’s gorgeous.
Edit: I suppose it is rather fitting in a tragic way that both of them have lost two family members at the hands of their own magic in situations where they could not have possibly had any control over it, yet they had to suffer all the same. She is undoubtedly far more of a victim than the listener is. And even though the listener is royalty, and the sorceress is accomplished, the two have still suffered as much as all other magic bearers? Perhaps more so for the listener in one way because of the downsides of being royalty, such as always being watched, and having the person who forbade magic be your insane father.
Ahh, another part of the wonderful series. And with some delicate animations too. This series continues to be epic.

Nightshade Queen? More like Queen of tear jerkers and traumatic pasts. You truely have a talent for turning on the feels and it gets the water works going every time. i luv every second of it and cant wait for more.

I see, we have come a long way from enemies to lovers.
How much I want it to go to enemies again (for a little bit of spice) bcz of misunderstanding, after prince escaped and betrayed her(but in reality saved her from doom). She then go berserk and confronts the prince who is waiting for her, explains everything to her and calms her down and ask her to be his for eternity and rule the kingdom and make it a better place for everyone...
Ahh the optimistic idealist in me😂
It will take alot of hard work to truly forgive someone like her but I guess the listener is one of those people who forgive too easily
Unless this forgiveness is a facade to open a window for escape
Hopefully we get an ending to this series as well. Maybe some great showdown with our own father and confessing our feelings for our dark sorceress

Yes, this is one of those situations when it is appropriate to say “don’t judge a book by its cover.” I also like that it doesn’t just boil down to the struggle between good and evil, everything is a little more realistic.

Lizardfolk sitting at a dining table eating fruit muffins overhears a few servents gossiping.
Maid: I wonder why he follows the mistress's tresure with such zeal?
Cook: He's got such loyalty to them, its quite strange.
Butler: I Wonder what his story is.
Lizardfolk: How about you just ask me?
The servents jumped at his voice having not noticed his approach.
Maid: Sorry good sir we didn't mean to pry.
Butler: you've been here this long and we don't even know your name.
The Lizardfolk scratched his chin and spoke again.
Lizardfolk: my name and my loyalty to my friend is a long story.
Cook: if its not too much trouble would you tell us your story Sir Heart?
Lizardfolk: are you sure you want to hear it?
They all nodded.
Lizardfolk: very well but only if Cook will make another batch of these muffins. He eats another one and licks the crumbs from his hand.
Well let's start at the beginning, A king and a queen who were unable to have children.
Flashback
The King had taken his wife to the Bazar.
The Queen was looking at an animal handler's stock of pets and didn't seem to interested in the usual common pets.
But then she saw an large egg sitting on a cushion..
Queen: Sir what sort of animal did this egg come from.
AH: I don't know I found it on the
Road, I think it might be an ostrich egg.
Queen: I'll take it.
A month later.
Queen: oh its shaking, Darling the egg is hatching!
The King came to her side as cracks tore across the shell.
Not long after a little teal form pushed open the egg and began honking.
The King and Queen both gasped one with disgust the other with fascination.
A few moments later they were in their throne room with the stable master and the captain of the guard.
The Queen was holding the little reptile lovingly in her arms offering it raspberries which it gobbled up.
King: do either of you know what this is?
Stable Master: no your majesty.
The Captain just stared at the creature gobbling raspberries in the Queen's arm seemingly in recognition.
Suddenly he ran forward and grabbed it and threw it to the floor and drew a dagger.
Queen: NO WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! She snatched it up and pulled it away just as the captain brought the blade down.
Captain: your Highness that is a lizard man, a blood thirsty barbaric creature. It's best to put it down while it's still young!
Queen: It's harmless look it even eats berries, you keep that blade away from it! She held it to her chest as the little lizard honked in distress.
Captain: your highness I beseech you be rid of that beast before it becomes a problem.
King: if that welp is as dangerous as the captain believes it to be then being rid of it is.
Queen: Darling I say we give this little one a chance, it may well be that one day it will grow to love us.
King: hmmmm very well I shall give it a chance. But if it ever brings harm to you or anyone here I will have it executed.
Queen: thank you dear.
She looked down at the little reptile and it opened its eyes for the first time and it stared right into hers.
The Queen saw a spark of life in them and it warmed her heart.
Queen: Heart....
King: excuse me?
Queen: I will name it Heart.

The emotions are delightful and the story is fun but their union is built on a scheme of revenge and the listener would be wasted remaining a pet after she’s mastered her powers, a wise queen with dark arts would be quite poetic to see at the end. Besides the Mage only started acting sincere after discovering her untrained magic from rebuking her advances to her after being awakened captive so perhaps Stockholm Syndrome is getting to the listeners mind 😅

Training in magic. I never thought I would see the day I would reach into the aether and pull a rose from nothingness. I entertained the idea of presenting it to my erstwhile teacher...but things were still too........new...between us. I still felt guilty for actually taking a swing at her after my abduction. We have an amusing sort of detente between us, and she decided that teaching me to use the innate gift I possessed would help pass the time. I wasn't exactly the greatest protege', but in time we began to make progress. As we progressed, we talked of minor things- the seasons, places we'd been, people we've known...and then she told me of her past. How the hunters came for her and her family. How, in a moment of abject fear for her life, she had used her power. An untrained archer might lose an arrow, an untrained musketeer might miss his mark.....but an untrained sorceress? Brimming with untapped potential? A frightened child grabbing fistfuls of power from the wellspring within her and lashing out without the fine control needed to bend such power to one's will? The tragedy still tore at her, I could tell. Her eyes brimmed with unshed tears. I wanted to reach out to her, to take her into my arms and kiss away the pain that shone like beacons in those gentle eyes. She stiffened when I touched her- I panicked for a second thinking, " Have I overstepped?" But she slowly relaxed, leaning into me. It hurt my heart a little when she asked if I was actually hugging her, as if she'd been so long without a gentle touch that the concept mystified her. After a moment, I felt her touch. Tentative, but gaining strength until her arms encircled me. We stood together for a time, just living in the moment. Her heart fluttered within her like a frightened bird, and mine wasn't exactly standing still either. It was wonderful...but it wasn't to last forever. She turned to go, and it was all I could do to not go after her. " If you ever need someone to listen, just ask." She paused, some color rising to her cheeks as a gentle smile came to her lips. The "Thank you" that she almost whispered had a weight to it that spoke of real gratitude. She retired for the evening after that. I practiced a bit more, trying to sharpen what she had taught me. Finally exhausted, I went to bed- to dream of possibilities: possibilities that revolved around a beautiful Sorceress.
Can I just say, I always love the way you write yourself, the listener character, in these vignettes? There's always a certain wisdom in their thoughts and actions that goes beyond whatever might have been in the script. It makes these very enjoyable to read. Thank you!!
