  • Join me on a solo adventure into the heart of history with my 2021 Jeep Gladiator Mojave as I traverse Rough Edge's haunting landscapes. In this episode of Adventures into History, we'll revisit some eerily fascinating sites that are as historically significant as they are spine-chilling.
First up, we pay our respects at the graves of local legends - Col Blackmon, Doctor Brewster, and Captain Reedy. Each site tells a unique story of the past, etched into the timeless whispers of the woods.
Our journey takes us further to explore the crumbling remains of Captain Reedy's homeplace. What secrets do these ruins hold? The decayed walls and silent echoes provide a haunting backdrop to tales of yesteryears.
Not far down the road, we encounter a creepy old house. Viewed from the safety of the road, its abandoned facade and the mysteries within call out to the curious and the brave.
Finally, our path leads us to the skeleton of an abandoned metal bridge - a relic unable to be crossed but rich with the lore of what once was.
Strap in for a ride that's part Jeep test drive, part historical exploration, all thrilling. Discover how the rugged capabilities of the Gladiator Mojave handle the challenge of Rough Edge's varied terrains while unveiling the mysteries of the past.
Don't forget to like, subscribe, and hit the bell icon for more adventures into history and beyond!

One of these episodes maybe a Geologist could join you guys and give us the Geological and Topography details, including the Terrace's Histories, Native and Colonial.
There's far more to Georgia's History than the "Mainstream Academics/Archaeologists" are willing to admit, (cause it doesn't fit or support their "19th Century Theory based Paradigm and Linear Timeline" (they use as Fact). That really isn't Scientific.
I am confident this is changing, DNA studies are forcing the point.

Maybe my overcast skies are contributing to the feeling, but this is the spookiest trip I've been on with you, Robert. That epitaph didn't help much, either, nor did the wisteria slowly choking those trees. And that bridge - terrifying. It's time to put the clutch down, get in gear, and get out of there. Oh, I'm a septugenarian driving a standard transmission vehicle and still loving the control. Thanks for an outstanding adventure. 😊

If you're like my kids dad he would take his 4 wheel drive dodge anywhere and got it stuck more than once. He wound up putting a winch on the front and it actually saves them from taking the truck to the bottom of a very steep mountain after they slide off in the mud. They winch that truck back up the mountainside. Enjoy be safe

Loved the Rough Edge tour, but please get permission to poke around the 2 home sites that are posted. Also, loved the parts about the old road beds. I used to hike LOTS in Great Smokies. There’s 1 hike in which the trail is the old road bed used in the Civil War. It was awesome to hike on it with the awareness that old cannons and other equipment had been dragged over the mountain on the “road.” My boyfriend at the time had an old mountain place in Western NC. On his property, which ran alongside the modern dirt and gravel road, was an older alignment. It was quite narrow and would not have allowed a vehicle or stage coach. Only on horseback, walking, or leading your horse as it pulled a sled could you use the old road to go over the mountain. It always entranced me to walk the old alignment. I could feel the gravity, beauty, and hardships of the people who had traveled the road before. I love your channels! Please give Annie, Luke, and Cat treats and extra pets for me!

That first bridge was impressive. For county unpaved road.

That old bridge was definitely very creepy and the thought of that old cemetery on down that deserted and completely overgrown road is a bit sad. I wonder when it last had a visitor and what kind of shape its currently in. That old house that you couldnt explore was REALLY creepy!! All that wisteria with its huge, thick vines that look like rope!! Yikes! I have a wisteria vine in my backyard and I piled some hay and limbs over it and burned it this spring. I know it will return because the roots are still in the soil. Anyway, that old house really, really looked spooky. I could never venture into it!😮😮 Thanks for a great video, Robert. My late husband and I had 3 different Jeep Wranglers and they were great fun. Had he lived, we would have had a Gladiator for sure!

I was thinking about Pig Boy just before you mentioned him. Definitely looks like a place he'd be!
