100% agree with him on Americans searching for more underground music. Described exactly what happened to me and I'm sure many others. I have basically nothing to do with EDM now but that's where I started.

What a quality conversation. I personally think that it'll take more than just introducing people to new subgenres; you can play a funky glitchy track for them, but they won't necessarily like it unless they appreciate this new stuff that's being pumped into their ear holes.

I totally agree with what he said about DJ becoming a Producer versus the other way around. Its not the rule or always that way but there is definitely a benefit of DJing first. I hate how some producers "DJ" and make crazy money, which is why they DJ and im not hating on that, but they seem to not really care about the DJing aspect of their career beyond the $. It just sux for those who have put time into their craft and dont get the proper respect for their skillz.

Underground scene will always stay and should stay underground. That is what makes it unique and special. Once you want to make it a get rich quick type of thing is when things become a problem. Commercializing underground music should never be the end goal. Once big companies get in touch of this is when we end up with EDM crap all over again. or the Disco sucks movement in the late 70's. Also the stigma Americans have about underground house/techno ect ect taints the color of the music. so at the end of the day Europeans will always dominate this industry even though Americans were one of the pioneers.

It’s so funny what I see through this interview the difference between Europe Dj’s vs American. Daley’s so chill, happy, fun, open. And the American guy on the left seems so ignorant, stuck up, total ego. That’s why our music scene in America is so fucked compared to Europe. It’s not all about you it’s about the music and the people. Squash the ego djs! 🤣
