- The long-awaited music video for Ulveham is finally here!
In this ambitious video shoot Gunnhild really got to play with the elements whilst incorporating the beautiful and wild Norwegian nature which is the bedrock of Gåte’s music.
The result is a stunning and spectacular video which really captures the strength conveyed in the song and elevates both the music and the lyrics to another level.
Also! Following a great demand from both new and older fans, Gåte has chosen to print a physical album which includes Ulveham, Gåte’s contribution to the ESC.
The album, which also called Ulveham, consist of Gåte's latest songs from their release Vandrar, as well as three carefully chosen live favorites that has been especially well received by the Gåte audience this last year.
You can listen to the album here: orcd.co/ulvehamalbum

Lyrics - Original:
Ho svor meg einsam i skogjen gå
Og aldri blir eg heil og god
Før eg fær drukkje min broders blod
Lyrics - Translated:
I was a very fine and beautiful maiden,
With an evil stepmother. My mother had died.
She transformed me into a sword and a needle
And sent me off to the King’s estate.
The wrath of my stepmother grew
When all the fine people loved me most.
She gave me the hide of a grey wolf
And forced me to go into the woods alone.
And I would never be whole and good
Before I had drunk of my brother’s blood.

Gåte - The ONLY Artist which Eurovision doesn''t deserved. You won it for me completely. \m/
Yeah! Eurovision it's unfortunately not about good vocal and song enymore, it's about something else...they just can't understand such an amazing band like Gate
Agree
By fare! THIS IS EPIC,ESOTERIC AND BEYOND BEAUTIFUL!!!
It was too much for Eurovision... Norway is the winner for me!
Absolutely agree!
This what I want from Eurovision - understand nothing while having goosebumps.
It's largely incomprehensible to most Norwegians as well. Part of the charm!
@@j8000 Northen norwegian accent is no joke lmaoo I can understand like 20% of it
Same here, I cried every time I listened.
this getting the last place WAS THE BIGGEST ROB IVE EVER SEEN.
@@Carrotwoof Not northern accent, this is from the west of Norway, from the fjords :)

If this song doesn`t win Eurovision 2024, there`s no point in Eurovision.
Exactly! Year after year, the ones using their own language whilst presenting their heritage are done dirty!
If Norway doesn't win, let's just call it a Eurovision Radiofriendly Pop Song in English Contest!
Norway winner oslo 2025🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴
This song will not win because it isn't a good song. It seems like many norwegians have to speak as less norwegian like I do to understand the reason. I live in norway. Me and my fiancée can't understand why norwegians voted for this song instead for another song thats much better and had the chance to win. It's the same with all the bad songs from germany. The people understand the text and get manipulated by it. But when we close our ears for the text or somebody from another country listens to the song, we understand that it's not a good song.
There is no chance for norway to win with this annoying song.
Gothminister had a very big chance to win the contest.
@@Em-Es1979 Maybe it has something to do with your taste in music?? Do you think it's sad that not everyone has the same taste in music as you?? Gothmeister was trash, so I understand what you like.. 😅
@@Em-Es1979It's your taste,no more and no less. For me it's a great song.I'm sure it will get a very good ranking this year.
The juri votes were extremely unfair towards Norway. And what happened with people? This song could very well have won the first place! You're awesome, Gåte!
Jury votes what jury votes and most people disagree with that anyway. The real unfairness here is that this received so little televotes. Are people deaf or just dumb?
@@pyridonfaltis9761 there were 20 votes per phone number, some people voted 20 times, some people voted once, sadly, this is a contest of who is more hurt in today's world, ekhm... Ukraine and Israel. obviously the contest wasn't sold, right? 🤡

Don't forget to vote on Gåte during the semi finals! 💙
And in the Grand Finale ❤❤❤❤
I have to keep looking at it over and over again
I cant, I can only vote in the 1st semi final😭 Which is a big shame because both my favorites are in semi 2, Norway and Belgium

As soon as I heard this in eurovision I got instant goosebumps. What a gift to the world.. absolute masterpiece. Deserved to win.
You may not have won at Eurovision, but you did win my heart. Amazing song and band!
Don’t ever stop making music you’re the only partcipants in eurovision that gave me the chills lots of kisses from France
I love nordic folk metal.
Kisses from Portugal!
This song didn't win Eurovision but it won my heart ❤
mine too! and the norwegian language is TOP!
Everybody vote for Gåte on Thursday, and even more importantly on Saturday!!
Good thing I can vote on thursday ! I have never voted in a semifinal, but this year I'll empty my phone wallet !
Norway underrated in the odds is absolutely criminal!
Norway is always underrated. The proof of that is Sweden this year, you see, Sweden is always top 3 in the odds (and juries), no matter who they send, but this year they send two Norwegians and suddenly Sweden has never been lower in the odds (#16). Thats how it is in the contest too among juries. Norway can send great singers and good unique songs, still bottom in the juries while winning the televote. I dont know why juries hate us so much.
We Germans are hated by the juries as well, don't worry. The problem is that the televotes don't love us either :P
I just can't grasp why it is that low, it's so different that it scares people is what I'm thinking...
Norge , true winner.
@@ThaGamingMisfit it's the essence of Norway, they don't understand it!
How are people/odds sleeping on this, it has massive winner potential
exactly
Conchita was, for most of the time, outside of the top ten in the bookies' odds. Austria then only surged to their 2nd place after semis.
@@wangwangyimei7656 mmhmm, same with Portugal in 2017, this might be the year
I can't believe it's sitting like 15th in the odds for weeks and weeks now, there is no way this finishes outside the top 10, if it does I will be very disappointed in the European taste in music... It's the best Eurovision entry for me ever made. I know guitars are the enemy at Eurovision, but how can this song let people cold ? There is no way.
@@ThaGamingMisfit guitars aren’t the enemy, måneskin, lordi, go_a (had a bit of rock), cha cha cha, all of them had successful places on the leaderboard, but i have hope that Ulveham will get the attention 😍
With love from Ulkraine 💙💛
Love you 2!
Thank you for sending this to Eurovision so that I could find out that Gåte exists. This was the winner for me from the very first time I heard it. Magnificent song and magnificent performance from the beginning to the end. Truly an eargasm.

I've heard this song at least 50 times now, and it still keeps giving me this feeling I can't describe, it's truly a primal feeling, a definition of music ! Can't wait to be blown away on thursday, and saturday of course ! Eurovision needs songs like Ulveham, spreading the essence of music around !
Check out their earlier stuff too. Gåte have done a lot of good things over the years :)
This song is everything I want from Eurovision. So glad we have this in the show this year.
Thank you! It is amazing to see the span of music that ESC encompass.
Blows me away every time. Gunnhild is the most talented singer I've ever heard!
Gunnhild is amazing! A really talented singer! I love her, and her voice! But if you want to know other talented artists, you should hear Whitney Houston and Amy Winehouse as well ❤
Her live perfomance could be better. She need power and lung volume for long notes
@@nothing2449 ok?😂
It might be room for improvements, but i think her live performances are impressive nonetheless. When she sings without a microphone on a large venue, and still manage to fill the room. Now, that's impressive!
@@stThicket Her performance is extremely good IMO. To do this live in this insane setting is more than 99% of other vocalists could ever do.

I don't care what votes this received in the Eurovision, this is such an ungodly gorgeous song and I've been blasting it each time I go for a drive. So absolutely beautiful, songs like this should be more encouraged to appear in Eurovision - They're more unique than the usual and speak of the country's culture - that's what Eurovision music should be all about. 👏👏👏🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴❤️❤️❤️
This is far from the favorite this year, 11th place as far as the bookmakers are concerned.. I honestly think it's gonna win the entire thing.
It's authentic, original and culturally relevant. It's not radio friendly and it's not gonna be a commercial hit but that's not what Eurovision is about.
Some of you seem to have forgotten that.
I will have to disregard the bookies this year. It's an exceptionally distinct year. I don't even care about the "radiofriendly song" de facto criteria set by the fandom. 1944 isn't exactly one of your radiofriendliest songs, and Ulveham is even easier to absorb than that, so I will have to say no to the bookies this year.
More importantly, this masterpiece was clearly not composed and coded for Eurovision, unlike most formula-ic entries in the past ten years or so, and yet this is the most EUROVISION-esque entry this year. #Norway2025
I wish you were correct, and in the past, this was the sentiment. Right now, however, there's other sentiments present in the competition and what would win in a year without politics (to put it short) might not win anymore. Ulveham is obviously the most traditionally "Eurovision winner type of entry" this year, but it is hard to see people getting behing it in masses simply to appreciate the nature of what the competition was meant for. I think they rather vote for something that is relevant to them right now, not what best describes Eurovision "as it should be if we lived in a peaceful world". Still hoping the win, there is a chance although a slight one.
@@Muskettisopuli Dude! Ulveham is basically the most "politically appropriate, timely entry" this year if we presume sociopolitical issues right now are the priorities of people voting. The band members themselves have declared in an official video what the song meant in the best possible way without violating the ESC rules! ;)
The folk elements and the medieval ballad and story is the traditional element of this entry. The story delivered in progressive metal approach + the actual message of this song overall is the modern element of this entry. This isn't just showcasing their own culture and own language but also trying to pass the message of LIBERATION IN YOUR OWN TERMS!
P.S. Do you not ever wonder why Norway's placed immediately after Israel in the semifinal order? I kindly suggest you rethink it if you still believe this song is irrelevant with the political climate of the recent times.
@@BeMaiGuest For me the song expresses something that goes beyond politics, something that we're all part of, what it is to be alive, life and death, I think you know what I mean, we feel it when we let this type of music take us there, but there's other more immediate topics taking the stage right now and with a message that's not as much "read from between the lines".
It's a good choice to put Ulveham after Israel's entry and then finish with Joost's message. Ulveham is definitely the "feeling" of the night, if not Israel's entry - because it will divide many people - or Joost's escapism which ends with the mental image of entire Europe burning. Ukraine's entry also evokes many feelings, but they're a bit like Israel's, not as unipolar as they used to be.
I hope the song's message resonates with people. The last note is almost like a scream of pain for whatever is happening in the world right now so I know where you're coming from and congrats for the band for making such an impactful piece of art.
To me it's always a mystery why the term 'radio-friendly' means generic. Radio friendly should mean original mindblowing music in my humble opinion ! This song is mindblowing !
NORWAY ALL THE WAY! AWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
