Would be good to contact Jakub Sidorowicz who has won this year's edition of King of 2 Miles using .375 CT, compare results at various distances, components and equipment he uses. Would be a really interesting episode.
lol - Guy video: hey I got this neat Super Blackhawk with an optic. Let’s pull down the H110 and Titegroup and load some .44; walk around the hillside and smack steel targets
Gavin video: let’s pour 142 grains of powder into each case, use this honking Forster press with a bunch of bespoke accessories, and shoot super low drag bullets from my highly customized converted .50 BMG rifle
absolute dream setup my brother!!
What a great set up. Your chey-tac and loading area 👍👍👍
This is going to be a great series :)
Do I shoot ELR? 😂 I wish - but happy to live vicariously through you!
That's a sweet setup! I loved your build video and this one as well. My Dad is a retired machinist, so I'm trying to get him to sell me his lathe. Moving it to my house 600 miles away would be an adventure since it weighs a bit over 6 tons. LOL! It's a big old Cincinnati lathe from the 50s and he rebuilt it with new drive gears and precision bearings, so even though it's way over sized for what I'd need, it is stupidly dead on accurate.
Sounds like a COOL lathe!!!! 😎
This sure beats reloading out in the shed.
Awesome group for caliber that size !
I’m glad to see the Forster equipment being represented! Whole other class of rifle for sure!
Amazing gun 🎉
I'm very interested to see what you do when you get out there. Good luck
Just a killer build
Wow 😯, I have no doubt you will be ringing steel at 2 miles with that awesome rifle in quick time.
That’s a big 💥
Great video. What a boomer. Good luck on your project. I like that Peterson brass. Use it for my 25 creedmoor and 280AI. Going with ADG for 6.5-7 PRC. Lapua for everything else.
I shoot ELR, but my cartridges are my own wildcat design based on an improved 416 Rigby case, I have 3 designs in 30cal, 33cal & 37cal. Now, we have the 33 & 37 XC, which are very similar to my designs I made in 2000/1.
I started to get into ELR, even got a Barnard GP50 action for a 416 Barrett build. Might get around to it someday, but illness and injury have seriously hurt my shooting skills. I still want to build the rifle, but I doubt I would use it for ELR competition.
Nice equipment Forester bullet seaters are great but these old eyes have a tuff time reading the numbers. Have they improved at all with numbers?
You love building, I can tell. Good grouping too. How many yards?
Get a piece of plywood and slap a carpet on it for your bipod to ride on. My rifle tracks like a train on rails with the ACCUTAC + sled feet.
🇺🇸
Look up Mark And Sam After Work, an Australian ELRD shooting team…thank me later…
What is the deal with that bipod? It's huge.
What does a 1" circle look like at 100 yards through that type of optic? Could you print anything on your target to reduce aiming inconsistency?
cool stuff! .... need some Petersons in 375..... 🥺🥺😭
How much difference does the bipod ex make. I've been wanting to try one but not sure if it's worth it.
Hey Gavin I've been subscribed for years what primers are you using
Sometimes it's whatever you can find.
If you're going to use calipers to measure group size on targets why not make it easy? Zero the caliper on a bullet then measure to the outside of the group. No need to guess at bullet centers.
Those micrometer bullet seating tools are great if you are adjusting a lot to find the best OAL compared to rifling lands or changing bullets but are kind of unnecessary if you have one load that you're repeating.
Get some.
Would love to see the spread at 2,000m.
What is the name of the rail that is bedded into your bench?
Do you sell that rifle?
Hey Gavin! Been a long time viewer and have a question for you. Would you stick with just FL sizing dies or use FL Neck bushing dies? Been debating it for the better part of a month and can’t decide for my 338Lapua as both are great options, but the ability to adj my neck tension via bushing seems good.
I would not hesitate to full length size!
Even if you are playing with bushing dies you must full length size every 5-10 reloads so the answer is Both.
All the best in the world are full length sizing. That’s a hint from EC.
So even FL Bushing dies are okay? Seen that Forster offers a die that offers both and pretty set on running them or Redding.
@@AKGuru4774 as long as you are FL Sizing and bumping the shoulder back .002. I'm really just regurgitating everything I heard on EC video from yesterday. You should watch that.
What do I think, well if you're gonna do it might as well go all in and appears you did. Follow up once you have that thing dialed in. Show us what the group is at something like 1000yrds

Where did you find the brass?
Using Peterson brass. Based out of Cranberry,PA. Great bunch of people there. They make top notch brass.
✌️👍‼️
Very nice looking thing.
A question. Why don't you shoot a bullseye? Are you aiming at a bullseye but have the scope crooked? Easier to measure? Dont get it bro 😄
Other question. Why the bullet have to be that size for shooting targets? So it can carry the mass over long range?
Is this a round that you "have" to reload yourself (im sure it can be bought)? Im asking as im pretty new to long range shooting?
You can buy it, though you may have to special order it, at the tune of about $20/round. Anytime we talk specialty rounds like this, reloading is really the way to go. You get better results, since you can tune your ammo to your rifle, and in the long run you save a little $$.
@unclebob540i3 this was really helpful thank you! That definitely makes a lot of sense. Can you do this with any round? Load or round development?
@@Boey19 Yes, you can. And you have subscribed to the right channel. Gavin has a lot of great information on here. Also, invest in a good reloading manual.
🔥🔥🇫🇮🔥🔥
$40.00 for a loading block? are you nuts ?
Does one absolutely need a pan or block that has advertising all over it? I’m a minimalist I’ll save a buck and use the cup lol. I refuse to pay to advertise for companies whenever I can. 50 dollar Yeti hats? Hell naw
The advertising stickers reduce group size.
Guess you are new to how Gavin makes the dough..
Nobody cares.
