I always thought Meta Knight is the same species as Kirby but he is just an adult. Which it got me thinking, if Meta Knight is an adult and Kirby is still a baby/child and Kirby can easily defeat Meta Knight, what happens when Kirby becomes an adult?

Not easily, he has to put forth a lot of effort, usually to shatter his mask, which in turn causes him to teleport away.
Momentarily stunning Meta Knight and causing his mask to shatter is hardly what I'd call "defeating" him.

To be fair, Meta-Knight just needs more Kirby games. Ever since Return to Dreamland we've seen the Kirby 20th anniversary compilation, Triple Star Deluxe and the Rainbow Curse. Perhaps we'll get our next big Kirby game in 2017 to commemorate the 25th anniversary.
We've got Meta Knight and Dark Meta Knight in Kirby Star allies and they're playable as dream friends.

I think he's always half and half. More like an anti hero. Though recently we haven't had a classic Meta Knight fight (with this i mean, a fight in which Meta Knight fights on his own because he wants to and it's not being controlled by other forces like in Robobot or Star Allies)

In the anime MetaKnight works under King Dedede but tries to help Kirby anyways, and litterally says they are *Both star warriors and of the same species!* Also *Sakurai plays the part King Dedede in the Japanese version so can't say he's not involved!*
No he doesn't. If you heard that from RelaxAlax, he admits he got it wrong.
They are both Star Warriors as in fighters of Nightmare. Kirby (and 99% likely Meta Knight/Galacta Knight)’s species still has no official name.
I love using the anime to fill in lore blanks but its a really tough balancing act. Its not technically cannon even though im sure some of the info is true.
Meta knight referring to both of kirby and him as Star warriors, And clearly. Meta knight, Galacta Knight and Morpho knight are the Only knights shown in the entire Game and Anime. which probably means Kirby is the NEXT Star warrior and being trained under Meta knight instead of the other 2 since he is more reasonable...
Sakurai DID work with the anime though, do I'm pretty sure any new lore in the anime is still accurate.

I agree it made him sound like he was always calm and collected so you never really know what he is going to do, sometimes he is following King Dedede's orders and some times kicking him off a cliff.

I met the guy who did Meta Knight's voice and he informed me that he hated doing it. Apparently it hurts his throat or something.
Who would have thought doing a thick, fake accent would hurt one's throat? XD
Let this be a lesson. If you are a white guy with an American accent, avoid doing a really thick foreign accent. And if you are a casting agent want someone to do said accent, find someone that has a background in the country that accent came from.
(Or you know, don't force your actors to make their voices go that low)

The show is... ambiguously canon. A lot of characters and events are non canon, but basically all lore from the anime is.

I LOVE Meta Knight. I honestly think he might be one of my favorite Nintendo characters. I really think there should be a Meta Knight Mode in every Kirby game, as he's just so freaking awesome. It would be such a great incentive to 100% every Kirby game just to play as this guy.

Is Dedede even a villain at this point? Aside from Kirby's Dreamland, and if you want to count it, Dedede's Revenge in Superstar Ultra, he hasn't done anything outright villainous of his own will since, or if he did, like in Kirby's Adventure, it's eventually revealed he had a good reason to.
