  • I have used 10x4.5cm Timber for frame.
Use screws to keep 3-5mm distance between Decking boards.
MAKE SURE NON OF THE TIMBER IS SITTING DIRECTLY ON THE GROUND!!!
Material costs was just above £500 and deck size is 4m 25cm x 3m 60cm
Its cheaper when you do it your self :)))

Looks nice, but water will stay under the decking after rain, because the plastic, timber will deteriorate fast....any one can make mistakes, no worries, you can fix it: unscrew the boards, get rid of the plastic , find some product to kill weeds under the decking, apply it and put back the decking boards.....

It's a weed membrane, which stops weeds but also allows water to seep through.

Looks to be attached to the house above the DPC, and lack of drainage underneath the decking will cause problems. Also why not build directly on top of paving slabs? More work than required.

I really don't see the point of decking if you're just ground to make it ground level. If you're going to do that surely just lay paving slabs? Decking, IMO should be fully off the ground, unless of course you couldn't be bothered to put posts in, and also ho uses 2x4s for decking joists?

None of this complies with any building code.
    Where to start …
Aaahhhh … 450 mm clearing from soil to timber and a minimum of f4 for this low grade dodge up.
This is definitely a 7 year shelf life …
    A few storms , a few summers…
Get one bad minor cyclone and you’ve got yourself an uplifting frizby.
    Good luck with this

What a massive waste of time. Should have left the patio and just used risers. You made loads more work for yourself. Your decking boards are also upside down, you ran them the wrong way. Should have gone horizontal to help with rain water going to yoir house. You also went above the dpc. If uou have damp along your back wall this is why.

However building codes vary from place and so don't take my word for it. Do your own research. Also perhaps these people just wanted something quick and easy for relatively short term use. My point is that the people who posted this video have put it up as entertainment to show how they did it. Not instructional.
