Pasture raising antibiotic-free hogs is more than a job for brothers Jim, Josh and Ralph. It’s been a way of life for their family for nearly 50 years. - applegate.com/
I care where the meat I buy/consume comes from, and I will make the extra effort to buy Applegate brand because I believe a happy animal raised in happy conditions makes the best quality meat, is better for the health of the consumer, and better for planet. Thank you!
Thank you so much Applegate!! :') I wanted to be sure that I was choosing to buy from the right company; not just due to what was on the packaging, but from how it TRULY is.
Bless you guys! We need a lot more farms like yours for raising food animals. Thank you for your humane and caring approach. Yours is the only brand of pork products that I will buy.
I don't understand the 33% of thumbs down for this video. This is a model farm, at least portrayed that way in this clip. Looks terrific, conditions are like nothing I've seen recently on YT. My question is, however, how do other farms supplying pork look like? Obviously not just this one farm supplies all the meat to Applegate.
Hi marcin97, we definitely agree that the conditions on this farm are pretty terrific! You’re also correct to state that this farm does not supply all of our pork. We work with a number of hog farms throughout Iowa, Minnesota, Kansas, Quebec, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick & the UK. What is consistent for every hog farm we work with is our animal welfare program. For pigs, that means No crates ever, No Ractopamine, No tail docking or teeth clipping, More solid flooring (to reduce injury and stress) & More time with Mom (which equates to a longer weaning period). You can read all about these animal raising practices at www.applegate.com/animal-welfare. You can also view more farm videos (for all of the species) at czcams.com/play/PLA22E29C30799B9AE.html&feature=view_all Thanks - Michael
Many people believe that the term “humane meat” is an oxymoron because a healthy animal who values their life is killed in order to obtain that meat. I happen to agree.
We’ve been eating your products for years while stationed out in CA serving in the military. I’m ready To move back Home to Iowa and Start a small family homestead pasture raising hogs and other things. Do you guys have advice? Can My family come out and see how you guys operate? We could use all the advice we can get. Only have 14 acres. We want to raise our own food. Thanks for your great products.
Ever read the story about a large organic feed seller it was all fake. Thousands of trained carloads a grain year and it was not GMO. It's a convenient story that they don't let you know about. I believe this person committed suicide about 2 years ago so he wouldn't have to go to prison fill me in on the details if anybody looks it up
Guess what? All beings on this earth die. If the animals are respected & live a good life but die a bit sooner than they naturally would in order for humanity to sustain health & thrive, that’s the reality of nature.
I am glad to see at least one of your farmers let the pigs grow out on pasture.
Love your products and the care for the animals.

but this is likely an exceptional farm. The standards outlined by applegate do not include being raised on pasture.
Im literally eating your cured ham and watching this makes it taste even better. Glad they lived a happy life before getting turned to ham :)
I will never buy deli meat from another company again. Thank you for caring, Applegate! You have a lifetime customer in me.

Carcass is probably a better term.
And yes, they taste good.
best farm ive seen.
Good job guys . . awesome!!
Oh, thank you. I'll only buy Applegate.
I love how you gentlemen have the farm set up so pigs have freedom to run around, and soak up the sun.
Good stuff.
I'm gonna visit this farm soon
How do i find this farm. Would like to learn some things. Cant find on google maps
We’ve got to get back to this. We have to boycott commercial pork until all the crates are gone. We can’t put profits over the pigs wellbeing
still gmo feed? organic feed would take it too next level
it does not matter.

wow I wouldn't mine paying more for pork from here.
How do they handle the heat
they're farmers, they're used to the elements. Those boys probably grew up outside farming next to their fathers and grandfathers.
Okay so i pay premium for products that have humane treatment certification
Deepak up 33
Humanely raised, violently killed.
And? We need violence to harvest the meat.

You give thanks for the life of the animal you took. To beable to love. Welcome to planet earth.
