  • Kandra received her B.A. from Bard College in Psychology and Latin American and Iberian Studies, an M.S.W. from New York University, and a licensed social worker in the state of New York. Her experience includes working with children in foster care, LGBTQ+ youth experiencing homelessness in NYC, and providing mental health support to female survivors of sexual trauma in the Bahamas. She has worked as a clinical supervisor and family therapist for Wediko Children's Services for about five years in New York, Boston, and New Hampshire. She has lectured as an adjunct professor at Fordham University.
    Fordham University's GSS is committed to preparing the next generation of social workers to be a leader of change. Our Ph.D. program offers unique opportunities for you to collaborate with faculty in research, training, and educational projects while earning your Ph.D. in Social Work.
    The Ph.D. in Social Work program consists of 48 credits of coursework and a dissertation. Students can complete the program in four years.
    The program requires two years of coursework and approximately two years to complete the comprehensive examination requirement, along with the dissertation.
