Mu-Deok carried the entire season 1. Her expressions and chemistry with not just janguk but all of the other characters made this season the best and not 1 of the ep was boring. I'm sad that she isn't in season 2
Somin is super cute. She acts tough but the sweet and cuteness shows through. Can’t imagine anyone else playing her. I like her as a maid/ warrior rather than a princess. That’s just me.
She brought the best of Naksu and Bu-yeon to the screen. And let's face it, she was the reason season 1 took off. Her and Janguk. Season 2 just couldnt
Season 1 was fun. I really felt the excitement every episode. Her glaring, bickering, sarcasm is all natural and will surely be missed. S2 has nothing new. It's all about romancing, kissing and killing the fire bird. Naksu of s1 ep1 was great but they weren't able to bring the bad-ass assasin naksu in s2. They made her soft and trying hard to be cute.
Weirdly, I didnt even know she was the actress that played the actual Naksu, she looked cold as an assassin and so pretty. In season 2, she was just like a doll, the slow mo didnt help her, like okay we get it shes pretty but GAH DAMN, move the plot already!
s2 was all about lost memory & they dragged that plot for way too long that it got boring and I had to drop it in the middle, couldn't watch it anymore while in s1 I was looking forward to the new episode every single day

Are you dense? PEOPLE LOVES ROMANCE, and it was brilliantly done. Season 2 is massively more popular and achieved higher ratings world wide. Season 2 was supposed to be the FRUITION that Season 1 was building up on. NAKSU was always the same. Season 2 actress was always the real NAKSU, and perfect for the role. She only changes body into Jung so Min in Season 1, but SHE WAS WEAK. She never had her “bad ass” power in Season 1. And the “ROMANCE” was always there since day 1 of Season 1. Season 2 just finally gets them together, and we finally get to experience the real NAKSU being happy for once, with Jang Uk I don’t know why some bitter clowns are complaining about “romance”, when that was ALWAYS the main theme being all the mystery and darkness. The chemistry between them was sizzling hot. If you hate on that, then that’s just your own depression lad. Too many people depressed and bitter these days. It’s sad

That was FUN to watch, but Season 2 is far superior. That’s why Season 2 is an even bigger hit. Why, you ask? We finally get the great romance, that was TEASED THROUGHOUT SEASON 1. We finally get Jang Uk at his full crazy potential. From “nobody” to the most renowned, most powerful and most feared. But still suffering from tragedy. And we finally get the CLIMAX and fruition that Season 1 was building up on.. The FINALE could’ve been better, and that is the only “gripe”. The fire bird was just nonsense. It lacked a better VILLAIN who could challenged Jang Uk. That’s the only logical issue
I love how her eyes also has it's own thing, she never fails to make me laugh even if she's just doing nothing. She's just effortlessly good, i hope she'll have another drama with the same vibes of this character

Without a doubt, the drama is made by the actors. No matter how hard the writers try, AOS S2 is not up to S1... There is a reason there are only 10 episodes of S2 with nothing new to contribute to the story... The true light of AOS was Jung SoMin
Naksu as Mudeok may have been weak physically but she was feisty, witty and manipulative at times.I liked those about her. Even if she had amnesia in season 2 and that she thought she was buyeon, her personality should still not have altered. So, there was no continuity except that we know the character was Naksu.
Mudeok is so pretty here. As i havr expected from Jung So Min, she always give her best. She should be given more dramas like this. I couldn't help laughing. This drama rocks! ❤
Most seasons 2 In Kdramas don’t do as well as seasons 1. Usually not as well thought out and usually rushed whereas the original season 1 is thought out and better written.
I have always loved her, since i saw her in Playful Kiss.. I first watched it for kim Hyunjoong but ended up liking her so much.. And i started watching Alchemy of souls because of her ❤ She can truly show expressions with her eyes and body language..

I do understand why Go Yoon Jung had to take over on Season 2. Master Lee and Jin Ho Gyeong's conversation in a flashback explained it. However, we would usually see a pre-teen Buyeon and an adult Buyeon talking to Naksu, who is using Buyeon's body. They could have used Jung So Min in these situations, especially when Buyeon needs to take over her body again to awaken the firebird. They could have let Jung So Min do those scenes...
When I start to watch SESION 2, I said, where is Mudock?? I felt very sad for that. I’ll never understand when the first SESION it’s SO GOOD, they decided to change actors even the primaries. Well, thank you Young So Min for keeping me in front the Tv during the SESION 1.
They shouldve made the s2 plot like this, mudeok as Jin buyeon and Naksu as Naksu and jang uk have to choose between them it would be more interesting than the lovey dovey couple during the whole series
Honestly this doesn’t make sense. Mu-devil was actually Bu-Yoon so why is it that Nakso’s body AND Nakso’s spirit survived? I realize the actress had other projects so was unavailable but I would have rather waited until we could have Mu-deok’s body at least!

I watched alchemy of souls mainly because of jung so min, her crazy character was the best to watch😅💖💖.. Now I'm reluctant to watch season 2 cos of her absence, but will give it a trial and see how it goes..
I don't usually comment on these stuffs but couldn't stop my hand without mentioning this masterpiece. The fantasy and the idea of this drama hit me to the bottom of my heart like Hollywood movie series Harry Potter. The theme is really fresh and wonderful to watch another world with different people and colours. We want more kdramas like alchemy of souls. Really love it. Hollywood has a lot to learn from Asian series/films. This is an amazing, thrilling piece of art. Netflix should invest more and offer English translation to this type of series. There are also other series as good as this one, Who Rules the World, The Legend of White Snake with Ju Jingyi, and Hotel de Luna.

True,me too,I put off watching the last episode of season 1 because I don't want to see my mu deok gone.
For me the show has already ended when uk proposed mudeok to marry her in ep 20 and it was a happy one 😊 S2 never existed for me
I watched alchemy of souls mainly because of jung so min, her crazy character was the best to watch😅💖💖..
Now I'm reluctant to watch season 2 cos of her absence, but will give it a trial and see how it goes..
The whole drama is about MU-DEOK played by JUNG SO MIN really, how can they replace her?? 🤯🤯🤯🤯

I don't usually comment on these stuffs but couldn't stop my hand without mentioning this masterpiece. The fantasy and the idea of this drama hit me to the bottom of my heart like Hollywood movie series Harry Potter. The theme is really fresh and wonderful to watch another world with different people and colours. We want more kdramas like alchemy of souls. Really love it. Cheers to the all crew members all the way from Sri Lanka. 🇱🇰🙌😀 love you guys. ❤💯

Hollywood has a lot to learn from Asian series/films. This is an amazing, thrilling piece of art. Netflix should invest more and offer English translation to this type of series. There are also other series as good as this one, Who Rules the World, The Legend of White Snake with Ju Jingyi, and Hotel de Luna.
