I think that the bus is a major debut thing now cuz stray kids had district 9( which in lalalala the bus number is district 325 which is the debut date for stray kids) and twice had the debut song" ohh ahh" that had a bus as well as it being in a debut and Bang Chan "chris" from stray kids was a zombie in that debut both under jyp. They gave me a XG vibe tbh but that flow was sick tho they got a big future ahead of them

To the costumes - according to Koreans, women, even young women, can show as much leg as they want. What young women can't show is cleavage, not a bit. In Korea, these outfits are perfectly fine, but western folk might feel a little awkward. ;)

I have been nervously awaiting your reaction Anthony, because I thought you might have come into this, being effected by the biggest ever hate train for a new kpop group...bigger then yg's last 2 girl groups had to face ( and that's saying something). I have been following you since you first discovered Blackpink and we didn't have to put up with twitch reactions....your channel has come a long way since then. These girls obviously breaking all the records...most viewed ever kpop debut by any group.
This was a brilliant homage to their seniors at yg, which, if you have been following them, know that is exactly what they wanted for their debut banger....literally 'waking up in their DREAM'. I can see Treasure, 2ne1, Blackpink, Akmu, Bigbang, Psy and even Somi in this and they all played a role in producing this success. It was great to see the girls getting input into the mv and especially Asa composing and writing. I was super happy that you picked up on the outro being early gen...and it was, to bring back that 1st gen yg, etc....all up your best reaction since Ren and Blackpink imo, Thx. I know if I was a teenager, this would be the sort of mv I would want to be involved in. Can't wait to see they go with their album.
Blackpink also had a school bus in their debut ( Boombayah ). The whole video is referencing YG's artists, most notably Blackpink. You can spot it in the lyrics,scenes and YG style. " Batter Up " is meant to be their taking of the (baton)in the lyrics from BP . It's their turn at the plate. The dance break at the end combined their message to world and YG's signature ending.

Babymonster's two rappers are both Japanese so they are basically rapping Korean as a foriegn language. But as a Korean, I think their diction ranks among the top tier of all Korean female idol rappers and no wonder it's because they are YG, which started as a hiphop lable. I think if they develop a variety of flows and maybe some new flows, they will stand out even more as they have very solid foundation in rapping.

Nah Bruh, It's the same YG Formula, the visual is good & given, but I can say it's not Teddy's beat. They sounded like old-school K-pop which is fine, Asa sang Godzilla as far as I recall; she has a potential lyricist. She's a boss baby and Jennie is the boss bitch 😄🔥

We are witnessing the beginning of a group who will be the future of kpop

It's very similar to Money as everyone stated and then the hand crown on the second "remember me" part reminds me of Itzys crown moves in almost all of their videos. But the song sounds good, so hopefully, they keep their success for a long time 🤞🏼
Fifth Harmony started at ages 15 - 19 & still made hits!! A real concern would be if they're been mistreated by management but as said YG are a big co., have enormous mentors & all the right cards. Anyway this is the type of music and dance is for young people. Nothing more pathetic than older groups trying to act & dress like teenagers lol 😮

It is a YG song for sure, but its their first song, I expect next songs to be more unique.
That said, the rap line does not sound like BP, its already unique. Asa (who is a writer) and Ruka were insane.

Kudos to their debut song coz I saw part of other YG idol groups. The Bus reminded me of Bigbang's Sunset Glow in 2007, i think.
YG really sticks to their style. They see to it that you can easily sing along to most of their songs. Unlike other Kpop groups who already adopted the western sound, YG maintained their half western and half kpop flavor. Plus they don't forget to incorporate their party anthem which you always see in most of Bigbang's, Ikon's Treasure's songs.

It seems true that Korean is a language with perfect harmony between consonants and vowels, so it sounds beautiful in any language.
Teddy and TBL weren't involved as they are handling other artists. But the other producers are still top yes, but they're more classic YG in terms of sound. Teddy represents the new YG, theblacklabel is YG's main sub-label for a reason hah. My only gripe with this debut is that it sounds more like a YG tribute rather than something unique to Babymonster. I'm sure the future will be more unique but I expected a bit more aggressiveness and freshness. They're still mega talented so, on it's own, the song is good but lacks replay value. Rap part was fire tho. Ending was legit 2NE1 old sound tribute, only more ... for children? I legit wonder if YG was a bit scared with this one given they're so young. This release feels a bit restrained for YG standards.
Good comment...it felt like a tribute because it was ( see my comment above/below). And yeah, it was a restrained concept because of the age thing...but yeah, chiquita is 15 in 2 months or so, so they are no different then bts, new jeans gidle 2ne1 etc. But SK does have those new laws in place about working hours and family access etc.
@@David-wm5lc I understand. But when you make a YG tribute in a debut, you don't really make it about the girls. And while they're young, the aggressive sound of the teasers was more keen to what I imagined BM will sound like. And they didn't use that at all. Hopefully next releases we'll get to see BM rather than 2ne1.
@julianleft4662 not sure about that...all these girls chose yg to debut with, because they were fans...they expressed the urge to soak up yg dna. What could be better for yg lineage, their career and their dream. They will develop differently and will never be another 2ne1. Also...most fans and new fans are happy.
