    I would not walk away from Omelas if it actually honored Rawl's veil of ignorance. But economics doesn't. Also maximising happiness is stupid because of the hedonic treadmill. The buddhist are righ that minimising suffering is more realistic, Clearly John Stewart Mill of his own free will never had a hangover. There will be poor always. That is their excuse.
