Title Defense Bear Hugger, But its the Wrong Way to Defeat Him

- So a bit of an explanation: The main strategy I think the game intends you to use for star punching TD Bear Hugger is to stun him with one punch, and then to throw the star punch, and that would either get him further into a stun animation, or it would knock him down (if you had 3 stars). However, this fight is showing how Bear Hugger can be hit with star punches outside of his stun, which deals less damage, and you can't instant knock him down when using a 3 star punch. This was certainly an interesting way to fight him as his window for hitting him after dodging is quite small.

In all honesty, Bear Hugger is probably tied for my favorite boxer, behind maybe Von Kaiser. I mean, I’m not Canadian, but this plump, grizzly man just reminds me of something nice.

I have been wondering, how would the situation for Bear Hugger in Title Defense would be, if he gets KO, but excluding instant KO, unless you can’t?
The squirrel will bounce on his belly but he won’t get back up. I saw it once when I played it over 10 years ago. Bear bigger gave me trouble as a kid

Use blocking. You get used to not using it but it is essential for him and Aran Ryan. His charge is also harder to one hit on TD but still possible. Learn star patterns like hitting him before he does his shot. Don't be afraid to take a loss or fight on. The best battles are close and I think I beat him like either 1st or 3rd try and man it was close. Press minus during round intermission for chocklate, also if you get tko'd you can tap buttons to maybe get a second wind. If you gotta take some shots from his charge that is ok, just master his fake outs and dodgine. Good luck friend.

Yes, there is a little bit of a pattern which he attacks, however, if you know how to harvest stars from him, you’ll know how to deal with these patterns a little easier. There are two main attacks in which you can harvest stars. The first one is his eyebrow raise jabs. If you throw a punch when he raises his eyebrow, he will dodge, and you have to block. If you are successful in blocking this quick jab, you can punch him once more to gain a star.
The other comes when he throws a right uppercut (on your left side). If you dodge his attack then delay your hook with the right timing, you can get a star punch that way as well.
Finally, for his Honda rush, there is a lot smaller window to hit him. Approximately 3 frames. 2 frames will give you a star punch, and one frame will knock him down instantly. It might be tricky, so if you mess up, just make sure you’re quick with your blocks (as his attack is much faster this time around).
