It has wainmann brakes, similar like you have but with additional lever to be able to brake if the hands are on top of the steerer. Tell me please where you got the polishing tool for drill and what pastes you used?
Thank you for making this pro. clip & doing such an useful work in that, bro...👍🏼🤟🏼 I just wanna recommend to use of softer sandpaper on the Aluminum parts (due to its softer nature) at the beginning of your work; I usually start with a ‘wet’ p180 or p400 (depends how deep those Scratches were on) than finish my work by p1000 and a metal polished p1200 one... Also I like to know what’s that needle-shape tool you used it for inscribing the brand name at the end?!? (It surprised me) 😳🙂

Was sooooo satisfying to sit back and enjoy the rewarding process and not be the one doing it..LOL Currently doing a ton of same polishing for a half dozen full builds ..ugh 😣 One thing I noticed, the central press pin you used the steel grinder on it, perhaps reducing its diameter, it didnt need much effort to slide back into position....will it hold in place or be slipping about now? How to ensure a tight fit again? Also ...a little piant to Highlight the Weinmann lettering maybe could be a sweet touch....and the exposed ends of the press pin...paint em Gold !!! 😉😉
We all used Weinmann center pull brakes back in the 60's. And leather saddles. After Merckx won the Tour in '69 they went out of fashion. He used side pull brakes and plastic saddle.

Great video! At about 16:40 you show a new brake clamp setup since the old one was too rusted out. Can you please share where you purchased this item? I am fixing my similar break set up and having a ton of trouble with properly attaching the clamp.
Nice job friend! I restored a pair of Dia Compe brake levers, but i had to use the sand paper up to 1500. Almost the same finish. Do you have instagram or other?
We have the same brake levers and me and my father is restoring the 1980s classic road bike it has titanium rims and I think it will not weigh as heavy as the other classic road bikes.
Waste of time going through all the different grits of abrasives on aluminum. A buffing wheel and rouge would have done the same thing in a quarter of the time.

Tip : better to cleaning pieces with soap between moving to higher sanding grit to remove any residue from previous (lower grit) 😉

Pivot pins aren't always as difficult to drive out. Sometimes they just fall out.

Dremel is probably too small - and it would be too easy to make a low spot - but a drill with a large buffing wheel might work.

Hello, to remove you press the lever and unscrew the bolt inside, using flat head 👍
This guy went all out. I just usually take some mothers aluminum polish.
