Two All-Around gold medalists from the same team returning to the Olympics and qualifying to compete again in the Olympics. Absolutely unprecedented, even if they were from different countries, but from the same country, wow!

I don't think you understand how it works but dont worry I'll break it down: Girls start training in gymnastics from as early as age 2. By 14 they are already training for elite level (obviously depending on each athlete's personal skill level). At age 16 they are officially allowed to make the World Championship / Olympic team. Also remember that most girls who compete are between ages 16 - 23. Anything older than that gets called a grandma by SImone and Jordan 😂😂😂😂

I wish they would bring back 3 per country. They would have more opportunities for all the women to compete in all around.
Why not "everyone who qualifies, no matter where they’re from"? I want the best of the best to compete and I don’t care what passport they have. To prevent athletes from competing because of their nationality so that weaker athletes have a chance to win too is just pathetic, against the Olympic spirit and basically nationalistic bs.

Yes, but the reality is that Simone is absolutely superior to them. She is pretty much unbeatable and she also worked very hard for that and had to endure a lot during her career. I would say its unfortunate for the others to be in a team with her, since they do not have a chance. But you also cant take it away from Simone. She is the best, she earned all that. Maybe the other girls have a chance in the next Olympics.

Suni had the third highest bar total and was the only US team member to qualify. Suni had 14.866. Suni qualified for beam and bars.

I don’t think a country should be unable to compete for being too good. I think it could also be a good wake up call for other countries to invest in their basketball programs so that they can have a chance of being as good as or even better than the USA.
