HOW TO HELP ME FOR ONE OF THE NEXT VIDEOS:
We are rebalancing every tank in the game.
Not every tank should be on the same level as each other, but every tank should be at least playable, and at best, balanced. It's taking the game back to a much more even playing field than it currently is, while keeping the reasons you and me both play the tanks that we choose to. Please no suggestions that require changing tank models, such as "remove 59-Patton cupola." Even if it is a good idea, I likely will ignore it by default, as tanks weren't designed in real life to be like that.

It honestly comes with every WoT video. But I think it is justified to mention WT in this situation because of competition. WT is a very large game and is continuing to grow. It offers more mechanics, vehicles, and ways to play while also being more realistic and less RNG. Doesn't make it a better game, but when people are deciding which game to play, it honestly looks like a lot more are choosing WT over WoT.

It's because dying in WT is less punishable then in WoT. In WoT you dead and leave.
In WT arcade mode, there's 3 time respawn for you to stay in a game. In realistic mode you can respawn as long as you contribute to the game and get spawn point for it.
Also in WT, getting one-shot is an universal expirenance no matter if you're a noob or a vet.

WG is fishing and Milking. They are not interested in "saving" the game, they just getting every bit of Money off that Product as they can.
Get People interested, push them towards a point they spend money. Some do, some leave.
All the codes and these Influencers cost them a Fraction of what they earn with that strategy.
All the Free to play games run on the assumption that only a small part of people will actually make them a massive amount of money while the largest part will give em nothing or a bit here and there.
Roughly they aim for that 20% of players that stick around and invest. the rest is fodder to them.
For example: Give people a T6, let them be low tier fodder for T8. That creates the urge to buy that T8. Premium Tanks are that expensive that only 1 of 10 people have to fall for this and it makes profit. This is Intentional.

War Gaming WOT is not intended to provide entertainment, nor is it intended to provide training an experience in how to play the game. It is there to make money. Period.
The decisions that the devs make, whether it be "rebalancing", loot boxes, premium perks, gold ammunitions, various equipment and crew module upgrades, or even the occasional freebees, are made to increase cash flow into the game. It's a business, and from the looks of it, a pretty cutthroat business at that. For the users, who are the product, this is a game, but to War Gaming, it is a cost-benefit concern.
Having said that, WOT physics do not in any way emulate real large caliber gun ballistics or penetration, nor do they model actual material characteristics. Real AFVs that are hull penetrated are typically destroyed or mission killed. No Hp bank. Even non-penetration hits can kill or wound the crew, and wreck the insides of the AFV. Large caliber HE can and will destroy just about any tank. Having your tracks shot off in a combat situation is a mission kill, minimum, and the time to repair is measured in HOURS or days, not seconds. Nobody who actually fights in a tank at range targets the supposed weak spots on his target, he shoots the target he can see. First tank to hit will usually win, because the target tank crew had, at a minimum, their bells rung and they are temporarily incapacitated at best.
Real world tank warfare is not emulated in WOT. War Thunder comes as close an any to the actual results of anti-tank gunnery, and one shot with penetration is a kill.
If you want to learn what the Russians do when their tanks are hit, just look at the Ukraine war. If they survive the hit, they will almost invariably abandon the tank, because the next round or the next drone with a shaped charge warhead will kill them if they stay in their now immobile AFV.

Not much better on higher tiers on NA, I'm blacklisting people who shoot gold at nonarmored tanks and seeing them from time to time on different tiers - there are never shooting even HE. I looked at their accounts afterward. All had between 25k to 50k games played. Some had never even gone above tier six. When you look at these accounts, most have very few higher tier tanks and they are terrible in them. It's just so typical. And while Warthunder doesn’t exactly do a good job of explaining their game, the fact u can respawn and u do learn very quickly just rushing out immedietely gets you killed actually made the game more fun, and I think it’s the fact u CAN respawn more vehicles that makes it better. You actually get the opportunity to learn instead of going back to main menu then going through another loading screen to probably end up dead in 2 seconds only after driving towards the enemy for 15 seconds

Have y'all noticed the recent increase of arty players at tier 4-6? Nearly every tier 4-6 match I see two artilleries on each team, and most of the time it's FV304 and that damn tier 5 French leaf blower artillery. I tested something on test server, and you can get that arty's reload down to about 7.5 seconds which just breaks the game. In a match on the test server, I was able to harass people and deal 1000-1500 damage on average and sometimes 2K or more with that build, and I'm by no means a skilled arty player - I play heavies and mediums mostly. This goes to show yet another problem that this game has, and that is OP tanks. Don't even get me started on BZ-176 and similar OP tanks, it was just as bad of an outcome. I tested that too. Game is totally unbalanced. The most balance I saw was in 2013-2015.

Now in 2024, when I opened up team training rooms, I only saw one room if any at all, and that one room would either have 15 people on a good day or 5 people and that broke my heart to see that, that the game that I love and the era that I joined in that would have chill rooms, runners vs. chasers, hide & seek, arty battleship, arty battles, hell even mountain climbing rooms isn’t getting new players to have these fun rooms is just heart wrenching, yeah there were toxicity in the training rooms, but there was enough people who just wanted to have a good time, having a good time climbing the B2 spot on mountain pass, chasing fast low tier tanks with their E-50m in runners vs. chasers, getting in their tier 3 Renault FT to get to some ridiculously funny hiding spots in hide & seek, getting out their m44 and fv304 arty to shotgun each other with in arty battles, or getting in their arties to blind fire from one cap to the other in arty battleship, this sounds very nostalgic in retrospect (cuz it is), but man those were the times and to be frank I miss those times in the game where people just played the game to have fun

    @Tommy_The_Gun Před 15 dny +10

Sealclubbing always existed (T18 TD anyone ?) . The problem is that it was never this prominent & obvious.
    - WG removed almost all low tier tech tree tanks & moved them to collector's vehicles and added/left only very strong tech tree tanks (Matilda, Valentine, T6 Medium, S35, Stuart etc).
    - They buffed HP by a lot.
    - They changed MM (lowered it).
    - They added a lot of "boosters" so you pretty much get so much credits & exp that you land on your 1st tier 5 in less than 1 hour lol.
The whole idea was to make the experience better for new players. But the effect is the opposite. No one "grinds" low tiers any more. New players fights bots for some games and then boom ! Statpaders ! :O
In the past you had to play tier 2 TD to unlock TDs. Now it starts from tier 5 or something. In the past tanks that nowadays are quite common (like B2 or leFH for example) were very rare. Even if some one was sealcubbing, you saw that tank maybe once per 50 - 100 games. It was rare. it was not impacting new player experience. Pz S35 ? It was not "god tier" also as it had normal mm (very often vs tier 5) & less HP. It goes pretty much for every seal clubber tank. It was either very rare, so it was not impacting games that much, or it was in a way worse spot than vs now. And on top of that, you had normal players playing low tiers as they were grinding through the tech tree.
Nowadays, the only ones who were left in the game at low tiers are seal clubbers. And even for them, the games are becoming too toxic. So "seal clubbers" are now split. Some stayed ad tier 3 - 4 and some moved at tier 5. WG killed low tier. The only "low tiers" imho that can offer some fun & decent games are only 2 tanks - Light Mk. VIC & T7 Combat Car. Why ? Cuz both have mm+0 so they will never see sealclubbers (or at least very rarely).
To fix the problem, WG should simply go back to the previous version that worked. More tech tree tanks at low tiers. More grinding at lower tiers. More modules to research. More type of guns to mount on a tank. The only way to stop sealclubbing is to bring more players to the low tier, as it was before. Give players a reason to play low tiers. And if more people will play, then sealclubbers will be less frequent till it is like before - maybe once for 30 - 50 games.
The problem is WG itself. They want players to play at higher tiers, so they would keep buying p2w premium tansk... So I guess WG "wants" to keep it that way, so they will not fix it... They want players to get wrecked by broken premium tanks at tier 8 and, OP clan reward tanks at tier 9 and 10. They want this cuz some players will buy the tanks that keep killing them.

It was so much better than its tech tree opponents that it sold like hot cakes.
Wg even advertised this directly and recommended that it is best to play them in platoons as wolf packs in order to be as successful as possible.

    @barnykirashi Před 18 dny +33

I want to make my own statement, from an "outsider" perspective, who did play World of Tanks, but is a War Thunder player now.
    My story began in I don't know 2018, 2019.
I have a friend who was obsessed with WoT since I knew him. He was a true WoT Veteran, who knew everything, and anything at the time at least.
And he got me to try the game. Back then I was not that much of a "nerd" and I had barely known anything.
Didn't help that we immedietly played in a platoon. Low tier was pain, and I didn't understand what I was doing, and what I wanted to do, I was confused, and as much as he tried to teach me the basics, I often misunderstood things, or just didn't quite fully understand things. Like side-scraping.
Things just didn't go well, and I was quickly feeling tired of the game, and I'm not the type of person to give up learning a new game, case in point, I play War Thunder now.
But WoT......just did not work out for me.
I was playing Soviet Tanks, and my friend was an avid Heavy Tank enthausiast, so his advice was to grind a tier 10 heavy first. This was the first wrong choice I did not know I was making. He also suggested that my first tank should be either American, German, or Soviet. He was a Soviet fan, and I was back then too, so I made the second wrong choice by going with the Soviet Heavy tanks.
In Hindsight I would have rather went for German Heavies, or just any medium line.
I got to the KV-1, and I was absolutely dumbfounded and didn't understand what I was supposed to do. My problem was mainly with the Tactics. I had 0 Idea what should I do and when.
But we decided I should start another line, which was the US Tank Destroyers line, which I enjoyed a lot more.
But the story went the way it did, and I stopped playing World of Tanks altogether.
I think one or two years has passed, and my passive like for military vehicles have grown to a more active one, and I really looked for a plane game, and that's how I really found War Thunder.
Here the story went like this:
I came for the planes, and I had 2 goals: The Boeing B-17, and the main goal, a Griffon Engine Spitfire. So the Spitfire Mk.XIVe.
And I've got to playing in Arcade Air Battles.
Air Arcade has one major benefit: Chaos.
Air Arcade is a really chaotic environment, with respawns, lead indicators, and the sheer volume of airplanes, in Air Arcade, even I, a total seal had a chance of success.
That does not mean that playing Arcade would really teach anything, I was actively learning, or rather thought myself by consuming content. If I wasn't playing War Thunder, I was watching it. I looked for air combat guides, and I learned things from them. When I was somewhat decent at the fundamentals, I slowly, and hesitantly made my graduation from Air Arcade to Air Realistic battles, where I had to learn even more to be effective. I learned from creators like DEFYN, because the game barely had any content to teach.
We will get back to this later.
While I was getting better and better as a Pilot, as a Tanker I was terrible.
The problem arose from a few things:
In Arcade, I felt like I was way too easy to spot with the markers, and shell fall indicators, I was killed way too quickly.
In Realistic however, the problem arose from the simple fact that without the markers, I felt blind and didn't notice enemies in time, and I got killed before spotting them.
What added to the problem was that I had no idea where should I look for the enemies in the first place.
Another problem was my choice of Nation.
I was very proficient at British Aircraft, and as a Teaboo, I took it obvious that I would play British tanks as well.
Nobody told me in time that Great Britain is the least forgiving tech tree in the entire game, for the simple reason, that it is a Major Nation, that is NOT a major nation. It seems like a major nation that is full of vehicles and friendly for the newbies, like Germany, USA, or USSR. However it is by far not. Japan, China, France, Sweden and Italy are obviously not Majors, and are obviously not new player friendly, but britain isn't obvious.
I was going for the Churchill VII, and the FV4005 Stage II.
I was barely touching tanks until....
    I have unlocked it.
    The Stuart I.
This was one of the first tanks I have unlocked, and it was wonderful. It was after all, an American tank, which is much more forgiving, than the feast or famine, bipolar nature the British tanks have (And I've since grown to adore it).
Thing is that as a new player to WT Tanks, I should have tried playing the big 3 first, to even have a chance at understanding tank combat, but now it was whatever. I got a basic tank with forgiving charachteristics, it was only forwards now.
Thing is, one great thing about War Thunder tanks as a new player, is that low tier tanks barely have any armor. All you have to do is spot a tank, and shoot it. And it should die, or at least get majorly crippled.
Your only major adversaries become the Germans, as they get early Panzer III and Panzer IV in low tiers, which do have some armor. But you still, should be alright.
In the intended gameplay of War Thunder, I do not find that much of an issue.
The problem seems to be the exact opposite.
Encountering a Level 8 F-4S Phantom II(Premium plane) player in my (German)MiG-29......and getting absolutely fucking deleted by my R-27ER1 Semi-Active Radar Homing biasmissile.
In my humble opinion War Thunder for a newcomer is an insane gott-verdamnt nightmare. You barely get any information, lack of tutorials, experienced players, not even the seal clubbers, but like people like me, who adore old vehicles, that reside in lower tiers (Like the P-40 Warhawk at battlerating 2.7, which honestly, is absolutely insane seal-clubbing even if I don't try, and it's not my or their fault.)
In general, "The Grind" is a blessing in low tier. It's not horrific, but it is long, and it needs to be, to give new players time to figure things out on their own.
    Problem:
-They do not figure out things on their own, they don't get the clues, and need outside help, which isn't too obvious to find.
-They are not persistent to suffer through 10-15 matches until they realise their mistakes and begin to improve, so they just uninstall
-(air specific) They don't care about propeller planes, so they just buy themselves up to the Tier VI-VII Jets, like the F-4S Phantom or the MiG-23ML.
The thing is, that the game is too hard for a complete beginner, but I find that War Thunder's learning curve is more of a steep first step and then it's gradual and it's okay-ish, but there is always room to improve, of course, and I find it less problematic than World of Tanks' absolute encyclopedia you need to learn before you can get on a basic level on the game, but by that time you most likely reach a high enough tier you actively NEED that knowledge. And then, as you force yourself further, I find that Tech Tree tanks in WoT are barely competative vs some premiums, but I don't particualry know how much of a problem that is.
I don't know what else I should add, ask away.

Yeah I agree. Coming from WoT with the tanks and originally just playing WT on the side for planes I get the perspective. Just like your friend with the top tier Soviet heavy tanks, I too late realized that I had made a poor decision (I went for the tier ten U.S. medium M48A1 Patton). Though that that was much better than its lower tier counterparts, playing tier ten as a free to play player is not possible unless you do really well and win ever match to pay for the repair cost. I was also fed up with how WoT plays; the arbitrary aim circle, fog of war view distance, unrewarding free to play shells and vehicles, stupidly long match wait times (I played on the NA servers), etc. I had enough so I just stopped playing, unfortunately it was after I had already convinced one of my friends to start playing WoT. Oh well, I guess he likes it better as of currently (even after getting the tier nine French wheeled tank).
I then tried tanks on War Thunder and I was amazed by how fun even the low tiers were and also how unforgiving the gameplay was. Yes the grind is still there, but it is much more player friendly since you can actually get different tanks relatively quickly.
Overall I like the more realistic-ness of WT over the arcade-y WoT gameplay. But they both exist with massive player bases, so obviously each game has its place.

I am an unintentional seal clubber, kind of, and hear is why. I started playing the game about a decade ago who is a free to play player who only spent money on the game when I started playing to buy garage slots. I think I started playing the game at its sweet spot, it was very popular back then, it had a lot of mini marathons like on tracks and monthly missions that let me earn a lot of lower tier premium tanks, and there were a lot of new players to it was a much more level playing field for new players. I played a lot of low tier tanks do to the On Tracks and because I needed to earn credits to buy tech tree tanks, equipment, and consumables. The game actively punishes progression, the higher the tier you progress to the more expensive it is to buy the tank, equipping it is expensive, and playing it becomes more expensive as well as you progress up the tiers, even making it prohibitively expensive to play the highest tier tanks, especially when you trying to grind credits, with a free to play account, so back then I would go to play tons and tons of low tier games in low tier premium tanks to get credits just so I could progress in the tech tree. Then WG actively began to try to get players to play higher tier tanks, they nerfed the number of rewards you could earn, Luckly I already had enough higher level premium tanks to continue to do the worthwhile missions and still earn credits for progression, but there was no need to play the game that much for me, the rewards were not worth it anymore most of the time so I literally started playing only one tenth (1/10) as much as before. Then WG started the battle pass and I realized it was much easier to do it with tier 6 tanks, many of them premium than higher tier tanks, and now WG allows even tier 4 tanks to be used. Combine this with events like the Black Market, the Assembly Shop and other in game sales and almost all progression up the tech tree has ended for me just so I can make credits, and i make credits with mostly lower tier tanks tier 5 and mostly 6, thus most of my games are in those tiers overall. I have now mostly abandoned even playing tier 7 and 8 premium tanks (which I have about 50 combined, yes on a free to play account and I did not use actual money for a single one of them, I ground them out through missions), they are not as efficient in doing the On Track, and I have also found higher tier teams and gameplay is just as bad if not worse than lower tier game play and it is not as profitable or fun. Occasionally I will get a player starting to DM me that I am a looser for playing these tanks at lower tiers, and I just ignore their ignorance and arrogance since they either have no concept of the free to play experience or they have not idea that different players have different goals than they do and do not view how to play the game the same way they do (a problem a lot of people have in real life as well with other people).
WG has had so much success with this game the way it was, they now have a hard time understanding that they succeeded disputed the game have so many problem, not because of the way the game systems and rewards work. This makes it very hard for them to make changes in a reasonable amount of time, it at all. WG does token things to attract new players but has no intention of doing a lot of things that need to be done because WG wants there to be so much grinding, so much pain, so need for XP and credits that players will break down and buy premium time, premium tanks, and other things WG sells to progress. In this endeavor to get players to spend more and more they are constantly nerfing rewards and trying to create FOMO in events and sales, buy keeping the possibility of a rare tank being sold or offered that will be so OP it breaks the game that players "have to have it' or be a victim of it, that WG by its sheer greed not only makes the game unimaginably difficult for new players to catch up and compete, but drive older players away because they get tired of the constant monetization, power creep, nerfing of good tech tree tanks and other WG changes that undermine progress and achievement and leave the feeling the WG will one day do something so bad to the players that they stop investing time and money into what they realize is a losing proposition.
I know my time playing WOT is limited, I know that one day I will have nothing from this game but memories. You do not really own your account, your account exists at the whim of WG. I know one day WG is very likely to try to put something in the game or change something that will stop me from playing. I almost left permanently when they were pushing the first attempt at Crew 2.0, the only time I took a "break" from WG, that was for 9 months. They backed down, but not really, they just went back to the drawing board on how to push it into the game in a more palpable way. WG will nerf, change, and monetize this game into the ground long before it natural expiration date arrives. Always remember that WOT is just a game and it will end, so try not to spend time and money on it beyond what you find enjoyable. This game has made me realize that I do not ever want to start to play another MMO again,

I stopped playing nearly a decade ago, what killed it for me was the class distinction be eroded away. I liked playing light tanks that focus on providing the team with scouting, I'm sure it's still around to some extent but what I saw was light tanks with the addition of tier 10 lights were just an alternative form of medium tank, just less armor and hp and higher speed. And I really didn't like that. Most of my best memories were playing tier 4-5 light tanks and working with my teammates. Also the saturation of high tier vehicles hitting max view range, and the state of artillery and many other things like gold ammo have ruined the game. Maybe it's just the nostalgia but playing wot classic for the brief while that was available was genuinely fun tier 4-6 which the game hadn't been for me for years by the time wot classic showed up. It's just not fun like it used to be.

I can not say anything about the seal clubbing in War Thunder, but I can confirm that the seal clubbing in crossout is a nightmare situation. I will not get too much into the details here, but we have been in an ebb and flow of lack of players for a long time, and seal clubbing, and alarmingly rampant toxicity are factors in why crossout is in the same boots as World of tanks. We are just worse affected by it due to the lack of players, and unchecked toxicity.

the problem is that higher tiers gameplay should become more complex and nuanced so that players feel they always have something to learn, but the tank handling should feel equally as good in all of the tiers. instead the lower ranks feel extremely frustrating because they game has basically the same complexity but the tanks are horrible. lower tiers should be for simpler gameplay, not bad gameplay

Very well put together, produced, and published, there should be more like you and then maybe, just maybe, they'd listen....if it's that they don't realize instead of not caring....hopefully if enough voices are heard from CC's and non CC's that stream and produce great videos such as this one, they'll actually get their heads out of the sand and take action....I don't think any company wants to go under, sometimes it's just the top brass out of touch with the common schmoe.

    • @Observerl
      @Observerl Před 6 dny

The most powerful CCs will be careful because they themselves live off the product. And the product that you live off of will not be seriously exposed. They go with the flow as long as they can. They have no real opportunity to intervene in WG's business policy. So they put on a brave face as long as they can still profit from it.
Just as an example, skill4ltu made a video in which he directly called the sale of the Pz IV Hydrostatic for €54 a scam, which is of course true. But just one day later he promoted the sale of the Defender. That's what I mean, on the one hand the CCs are telling the truth, but on the other hand they immediately join in and promote the sale of WG products.
It's all about money and only money. And as long as a game provider is all about making money, something like a fair, real competition will never be possible because there is NO MONEY to be made from it.

About gold apcr ammo. For clarification, i haven't played the game for years now. I dropped it at the time where WT E100 were absolutely demolishing anything and arty did full dmg. APCR isn't even properly modelled in WoT. Sure it has high pen, but the pen drop with distance is insane because, despite being lighter it had high aerodynamical drag which caused rapid velocity bleed. Its a basically solid piece of tungsten projectile coated with alluminium shell. Light, hard and rigid. It doesn't have explosive filler, so it isn't as effective as APHE for example and because it's hard it easily ricochets (there's also high chance of shattering upon impact) and because it's light it doesn't create as much spall as even normal solid shots. For an arcade game as WoT APCR doesn't really make sense. Not to mention that for small caliber guns of low tier any advantage of APCR would be negated after 150-200m.

  • @Ryzard
    @Ryzard Před 12 dny +1

    Thank you for this video.
As a player of many dying or dead games, you are actually dead on in terms of the biggest issue.
Seal clubbing, and a bad new player experience, will strangle a GOOD, HEALTHY game to death. New players are the lifeline.
Without new blood, everyone slowly gets sweatier and sweatier, and only the truly obsessed remain as everyone else slowly backs out or loses interest over time.
New players have to have a decent experience into the game, or it will start to stagnate and try to pump its remaining playerbase for all the money they will give it, and degrade over time.
A truly unique game that I loved, and has been irreplicable (not just in terms of oh singular mechanic - entire game was very experimental, and a passion project from the studio) - ended up going down in huge part because the new player experience was subpar, and some players would spend their whole day seal clubbing. And unlike things like FPS games and WOT, you couldn't just respawn with your stuff. You lost it. So people quit, and I had to watch the numbers fall to thousands, then hundreds, and then... offline.
    Side note, nice music taste.

  • @shark_de_mique
    @shark_de_mique Před měsícem +3

I believe the half of the playerbase are Eric players. Without any insult in mind. There is a deception everywhere, your example with 50b and e3 is just a drop in the see of lies. This game could be a simple enjoyable arcade and such gamemods as Steel Hunter and Frontline are a proof to that statement, especially the Frontline, where every class is viable.
What majority do not understand that this game (pubs) in essense is almost entirely about hp trading, that's it. Playing sniper td/medium according to WG map guides or ccs that are 3 marking it and playing super safe will do much more harm to an average player than it will do good. Let's say you are in a charioteer. The map is Highway. You can camp at the back, you may even have a high damage game, when your team looses. But the game is lost. If it is a victory, than you will have 2-3 shots at max.
Or, alternativelly, you can go as a support class, paying attention, when enemy has fired and scoring a shot. Or, you can even trade. Let's say, there is an is-3 or a 50tp. You can take one, and give him 2x480.
And now the question, who has ever said that to a player? Hell, even old players, still believe that tanks are different and having no armor in a current meta is just different gameplay, having no clue, that Maus can snipe from the back like leo or grille. But you know what leo and grille cannot do? Right, fighting upfront unless you are an opportunist and a masochist of some sort, like I am :)
Take side scraping. It's one thing when you are checking whether the enemy shoot you without a damage to shoot in return. And it is a totally other story, when your team is winning the flank, there one or two tanks left on the enemy's side of the flank or behind the corner, and instead of taking a shot and push, your 3 teammates are trying to bait an enemy for a shot. Having full hp, while opponent has half

As a veteran WOT player with a high enough wn8 that went from competitive to not playing the game for a year now there are those things mainly:
You play tier 10 - you need premium account to not go bankrupt in 3 games (you still go after 10, 15 if you have really good games). Shooting mostly gold is a must to be able to perform, not using gold lowers your chances for a good game significantly.
If you play tier 8 premiums, unless it's clan wars, you face tier 10s and can fuck right off.
Playing tier 7 and 9 is boring, personally, I don't find enjoyment in playing those tiers.
At tier 6, there are some fun tanks to play, but it gets old very quickly.
Tier 5 and below, you face really bad opponents and it feels like bot farming and isn't even enjoyable. Yes, you get 10 kills sometimes, 5+ consistently, but it's not fun to seal club (at least for me, if some need to do that to be able to feel good about themselves, they do them)
So what do you do in the game?

Blitz's combat system is a lot more mobility-based than PC is. Gold ammo matters less because you can flank exceedingly easier. Versus PC, where it's basically who can snipe weak spots more often than their opponents (see T110E5).
IS-3-II only has 292 gold pen for 390 damage. If it does (for example) 10% less damage, it has to shoot a Maus at least 10 times to kill it, and it cannot frontally pen anywhere except the lower plate.
It also makes tanks with already-not-great gold rounds even worse, like the T-100.

One of the ideas I had a long while ago with the Gold Ammo problem was to either restrict the amount you could carry (say, 10% to 25% of the total ammo capacity of your tank), and/or to make it do less damage. Make it a tactical option of "I need to pen this tank to do SOME damage" instead of the default choice for many. Unfortunately WG just refuses to nerf anything that can or could be bought with gold, with rare exceptions.

what drove me to quit was the LT rework followed by all the good LTs being nerfed into oblivion or being made into weird mediums

I used to play a whole lot of WoT Blitz back then but I gave up because I think I chose the wrong tech tree. As I went up the tech tree my gun just became worse and worse. The only thing people said I can do was to “hull down”, in a game where most of the maps are flat and to use gold ammo.

I had never even considered this but when I started playing WoT back in 2013...
I didn't get through the lower tiers before pausing for a good year or so and when I came back, I started investing some serious effort into the game after consulting some CZcams content (because ofc, the tutorial was barebones back then).
However, even back then the grind from Tier 4 to 5 felt like an insurmountable obstacle. To some degree that was because I was playing with a lot of hinderances like 60% crew training, no equipment, no map knowledge, etc. On the other hand, I do remember the vast flood of T67s very well back then, and I'm pretty sure that a lot of ppl exclusively sticking to lower tiers was already a factor back then too.
I probably never thought about throwing in the towel though, because the game was free-to-play and one of the only titles I could probably play that wouldn't age very quickly. Of course now I wish I had, before ending up being emotionally tied to over 10y of effort and investment.

I miss the unstructured team battles with tank companies. It was so much fun taking tier 1 tanks against tier 8 tanks. It was hillarious, but also viable. I killed artillery at tier 1 and scouted non viable routes as an early warning system. Was so fun.

As a War Thunder player (i fo play WoWS sometimes and have played WoT) i can personaly say that this is not exclusive to WoT but it exist there too and i can sympathize with you guys. some problems are just WT or WoT specific but the seal clubbing and no to bad tutarial for new players is a thing

I will admit that there are tanks I play that are low tier. Like the Stuart tanks and Scott tanks and Valentine tanks and variants which I like and will play mostly (I miss the tier 1 and 2 battles). I can admit I am apart of the problem, though doing it to get easy kills. No, because I am the 1st to die half the time in one shot. And I used to play WoT's so many years ago. Left and come back here and there. Mostly came back 2 months ago after being done with War Thunder screwing me over for the last time on me not being rewarded a event vehicle I successfully grinded for. And I had noticed, while playing the P26/40 (as I haven't done much playing for console version of WoT). And long story short, being the last person on my team, getting 8 kills and winning. It was a mastary 3 metal... I realized how worst seal clubbing of new players have become compared to last I played being 5 years ago. But I do agree that something needs to change for the funnel becoming a straw... but I also see that... like at the end. How would one fix it? Because you can't really stop the ones who do like beating down the new players. Or even bigger issue in some other games that don't have tiers, which causal players being attacked and beaten down to the competitive players. How can you tell who is casual and who is competitive in that sense?

This is ultimately why I left the game (mostly, I play a little in December). A game I absolutely loved, spent massive ammounts of time on, and thought I'd never leave. The increasingly ridiculous tanks, the lack of diverse gameplay, the extreme costs of staying competitive, the seal clubbing, and the spotting/RNG and HP mechanics just got more and more annoying. I now play War Thunder, which has its own problems, BELIEVE ME, but at least low tier is fun, the gameplay is very diverse, skill matters A LOT more, most vehicles are semi-realistic and their Battle Rating can be adjusted (tiers are very broad categories in WoT and often aren't adjusted), and Gaijin, although reluctant, can often be coerced by the player base to make big and influential changes for the better. WoT really doesn't change much in any attempts to fix their game's problems whatsoever. They found a formula to their game, and they're too scared to change it.

just wish I could do 5v5 whenever I want. Most of the maps do not accommodate LARGE engagements, and it's a LOT more exciting to tactically navigate smaller engagements

I play WoT Blitz most often out of many tank games (War Thunder included), and this is a very large problem. Personally if I go down to any tier below 5-6, I will do like one platooning battle and then stay around tiers 8-7 for most battles. Like you mentioned about tiers 9-10, I usually avoid those tiers with tiers 7-8 being average for me within the versions of WoT.

I quit the game after the clear lack of care, power creep of premiums and lootboxes being introduced into the game. I think the last line that I recall coming out was the Czech heavies and the BS artillery stun changes. Honestly I loved this game and I guess you could say I still do, but man every time I have an itch to come back I remind myself of these problems and how they've gotten worse probably now. Most "the game is dying" videos like you mentioned have the same issue, they fail to address the importance of incoming new players to the ecosystems. While wargaming flushes out their veteran players with the aforementioned problems of monetization/powercreep/imbalances/unfairness, they fail to gain new ones, and that ultimately kills the playerbase, and you are 100% on point, people need to realize this more, great video. I doubt wargaming will ever change and I'll never be back until they do

The answer is, and always was simple.
Have tanks that are only for training - that you can only play with < x number of games
Ie a specific model tank, where you are only up against that same tank in match making - use this approach for 3 tiers they can play within as they progress - ie the tier 1 model up to 50 games, tier 2 model up to 150 games, tier 3 model up to 500 games, tier 4 model up to 1000 games - play any tier you want when you want, but these trainer models and matches allows them the time to learn dynamics, maps, strategy.
Its easy, and won’t break the tech trees, or mechanics elsewhere - you are playing in tank models and tiers with other players like you in those selected models. Outside of this, the normal mechanics remain.
It won’t happen, but it’s how you fix it.

I used to make videos on this game. I held out hope they would balance premium ammo until they buffed the e100s turret, that was the last bit of hope I had and when it happened I quit. If they had any intention of fixing it they'd wouldn't buff armor to counter it.
