thank you for this tutorial.
Yes it’s awesome this is what I’d been looking for.🎥👍
Thank you Jeff I've been looking for this I'm new to the mavic air and still learning it that helped alot I appreciate that.
I've watched 50 plus videos and you addressed everyone of my issues with perfect explanation. Thank you. I would recommend this video to everyone that is new to the Mavic Air. I know it's two years old but I just bought mine used. Big time photographer and enjoy the new challenge. Thanks Jeff.
I have the Mavic Air for 18 months and this video helped me a lot. Thanks from Miami.
Thanks. Well produced, edited, and paced. Great callouts of important points. Filled with useful information to budding drone videographers with little photography knowledge - like me. You did the classic lecture, (1) tell them what you're about to tell them, (2) tell them in the time necessary, (3) summarize what you told them.
Thank you Jeff. I just bought my first drone, a Mavic Air, this weekend. I'm really keen on getting into cinematic drone photography and have been trying to absorb as much as I can from tutorials on CZcams. First thing I ordered was a set of these ND filters. Your video is the most comprehensive and easiest to follow that I've found. I'm itching to get outside and start filming. Thank you again and I'll definitely be checking out your other videos. Cheers.
That is great Lochie, i am excited for you! Feel free to ask questions. There are lots of subscribers on here with all levels of experience.
Thanks a lot. Just bought a Mavic Air and tested it with some settings I changed myself but your tutorial saves me a lot of time to get to the best settings for cinematic footage. Cheers from Amsterdam.
Thanks Ray, glad to help!
Thanks for such a comprehensive and thorough walk through! I've seen so many reviews. But this videos is my buy in to the drone!
Thanks Gus for the positive feedback. I have been happy with the DJI products for the last 4 years or so. They are really nice tools, and it is amazing to see how fast the technology is changing every year.
I REALLY like how you add the JUMP TO section, so I can keep going to important sections over and over again. Great Job.
You are very welcome. I try to do that especially on the videos that are lengthy. Glad you found this helpful.
The only way to thank you was to subscribe and I have already done that on the 3rd minute into this video. You are so good at this. You sound more of a teacher. Thank you so much, Jeff
Well thank you sir i appreciate that! I am glad you found this helpful.
4:46 Wow! I always wondered "Why does it need to be blurry to be 'realistic'. What does old cinema have to do with this?".
That hand movement demonstration explained it all!! Thanks!!
DUDE thank you for putting the time stamps in the description! That is so helpful! Always wanted every tutorial video to do that....it saves so much time, thank you
I appreciate that. Yeah, i figured for those long videos, timestamps would be best for reference. Thanks for confirming!
Cheers Jeff, Great Vid, I too am upgrading from a Spark to the Air, nothing wrong with the spark I love it but the Air just a little nicer.
Thanks Paul
Great video Jeff, I've just got the Air (May 20) and this will be useful information. Cheers.
I am a new be, and this video help me a lot. keep doing best Jeff.
Nice video. Ps. Press power button once to mute that battery warning 👍
Oh man, serious? That is quite possibly the best tip i have heard. That sound is worse than my alarm clock. Thank you!
Thanks!
lol OMFG thx! flying 4KM Back and the last 2KM with that alarm makes me wanna kill myself :D
YES!!! Thank-you
what? I'm with Jeff...best tip ever! (Besides all the setting suggestions in this vid!)
Hi Jeff! Just got hold of my Polarpro filters and will try out your settings and revert with my experience.
Thank you sooooo much for sharing, I enjoyed it, and instructions are super clear and easily understood! Please keep the videos coming man!
Thank you Jerry, i appreciate you saying that. Looking forward to seeing your results!
Brother I’ve watched a ton of videos trying to get a grasp on this whole concept. I don’t know if it just finally got through or your just good at explaining it but it finally makes sense to me. You got a new sub today. Great video
Jamie Lane thanks sir, i am glad you found this helpful!
Always great videos, Jeff. Thanks
This is vey helpful - excellent demonstrations of the various settings and what happens when you change them. Great for beginners like me!
This will be a good quick start when my Air arrives in a couple of weeks. Many thanks!
You are most welcome Gord, thanks for the thumbs up!
Thank you very much!! I will bring your tips into my drone. Thanks again.
hey, I found this video very helpful and it def helped me out a lot.
I upgraded to the air 2 and really want to change the gimbal speed settings but cannot find the menu for that
Great video!! Haven't had time to play with my Mavic Air because I'm working so these videos help alot to be ready for when I go out with my quad! Thank you very much!
You are most welcome dinosz1000! Glad you found this helpful. Get out out there soon.
No nonsense, no crazy you tuber antics and an iron man. Great job sir. I like your channel.
Jeff been waiting for someone to help me set and understand settings better, thanks so much!
You got it, glad to help!
Very informative video, thank you. I need to try out now.
Coming from photo, I would like to take action sport/ like kite surf or ski ...so 1/60 speed seems too low.
What speed will you recommend?
You are very right about the risk of a cinematic mode. I almost lost my drone lifting it up in the narrow yard between high buildings from all four sides. It has lifted ower the roofs and because of the wind vanished of my site. At the very moment a low battery warnind appeared. It was quite difficult to bring the drone back, since I`m a newcomer in drones flights.
I get nervous just hearing the low battery warning.
makes me crazy
Awesome video Jeff, great insights and tips - thanks 👍
Solid tutorial on how to set up your Mavic air. Just got mine and this helps so much! Thanks, Jeff you the man! - Mike from San Diego.
Mike Mora Real Estate thank you sir! Glad to help.
Had a 1st outdoor flight with my MA and after having watched a lot of vids to prepare I found your tips to be excellent and without unnecessary drama or the ubiquitous ‘Hey CZcamsrs what is happening’ shit, or crappy music and intros.
Very cool, thanks for the thumbs up Max Headroom! How was your first flight?
Up to 5 flights now and have managed to avoid crashing into the trees. Still flying with prop guards and did touch some thin branches. Picked up a set of Pgytech ND+CPL filters which flare a but but no colorcast. Getting a hang of mode-2 on the controller is not that easy. When the quad is far away it gets hard to tell which direction its facing. Guess I should be looking more at the phone app and not the quad. Will try to find a sinulator to practice in VR. Hopefully by the time it’s warm enough to fly without gloves I’ll be ready to film something interesting. Thanks again for your honest and helpful videos Jeff!
Finally someone who explanes the stuff in a clear and normal way. Very informative, thanks dude!
Chris Wood thanks man, i appreciate you saying that. Happy to help!
Thanks for the straightforward explanation! I see that your gimbal pitch is also somewhat jerky/choppy when you tilt, is that normal?
Thank you. Great video
Great informative video! Ty
Fantastic description of the settings in plain language - no excuses for poor exposure or jerky movements now!!
Awesome, thanks Gary!
Thank you for the comprehensive explanations. Very very clear and understandable.
Love the easy to follow guide. Thanks!
Excellent video! The gimbal settings & sensitivity segments were Golden for me! Question: I like to manually expose my shots when taken pictures...but when I do so, I noticed that I can’t set my focus. If I switch back to auto, I can tap focus anywhere. Can you explain what I’m possibly doing wrong when in manual? Thanks!
Awesome video mate. I really like that you took the time to explain these tips.
Wow...the most clearly explained settings video i have ever watched...this may even help me....i do thankyou so much for the great work....going to try out settings today as i will be glad never to use cinematic mode again.....yikes....im quite sure i have died a few times watching me drone not stop...drifting closer and closer to stuff in that mode....you rock...thanks and God bless
Thanks Lou! I am really glad you found this helpful. Looking forward to see what you capture.
What a helpful video. Just got my first drone and this saves me a lot of time. Subbed.
super helpful, thanks!
Very helpful video! This just answered all of my questions. The Mavic Air is my first drone. I also have zero experience with photography but this video made everything so easy. Will be ordering ND filters. Thank you.
No problem pinkywinky222, i am glad this was helpful to you!
Noicee... love me some air... so helpful tip.. when your on the EXP screen you can actually move the joysticks and see the ball move following the lines. This lets you feel and see how much you moving the stick will respond vs setting it and flying to test.. also lets you see specifically which is being adjusted when your making your movements to see the ball move..
Thanks for the insight ZENxTENinc!
Hi Jeff, I bought a mavic air 1 mounth ago and I'm learning about it. Ya thats my first drone and thanks to you I learn a lot already! I think the auto mode for the video is good enough althought I want to get the best shots possible so I find your videos. One thing i am not happy with is the pictures I take with the mavic air, most of times it gets grain, so could you tell me in your opinion what is the best settings for sharpness pictures? Thanks
THANK YOU SO MUCH. SUBSCRIBED!
Thanks a lot Jeff. I was watching your channel. After that i went out and tried to play with apps. What i got yesterday, which was working for me is at Helix mode. Picture came out pretty good though. I will keep watching yours until i play with those apps with confidence 😁😁😁.
Thanks Sitthichok!
Thanks for taking the time out to produce this video.
you are most welcome, i hope you found this helpful!
Thank you for this. Excellent demonstration of these settings that I probably would have been too afraid to play with myself without explanation.
Travis G glad you found this helpful. Should definitely try ut out. Can always back out to the default settings.

Very helpful. Kudos.
Sir: Thank you for an excellent tutorial. You are a natural teacher.
Again very helpful. These tips are the little gems that really make a difference when shooting. Well put together.
Thank you, i appreciate you saying that!
Great videos thanks!
Do you prefer the Pro 1 to the Air? I assume the Pro 1 has a better signal...
I find the Air isn’t completely stable. Kinda regret not getting the Pro 1...
Great video.. thanks for the very useful info.
Thanks Jeff. A really helpful and clear explanation. First video of yours I've seen and look forward to the next. I've been playing with the Air for around a month now too, and found it great in the wind, especially not in Sports mode as it behaves differently from the Pro. I'll be putting that video up tomorrow.
Meantime, thanks again from across the pond.
Ian in London
Thank Ian, i am glad you guys are finding this helpful. Yep, i have been finding the MA is pretty rock solid just like the MP. Looking forward to seeing what you post tomorrow. Cheers!

Thank you Con for the thumbs up! Glad you found this helpful.
awesome thanks for the short !
I've just uploaded my first edit using the Mavic Air in 4k, just pretty basic footage I captured over winter. Would love some input from the drone community before I start the next one, filming on holiday/once in a lifetime shots etc.
very informative video. Thanks. And this is the first time I heard or saw the word "Granularity" thank you.
maxkielbasa ha ha thank you. I hear that word all the time at work. Not sure if it is a real word 😁
Hello Thanks x This tutorial I followed carefully and taken note but in the end you put "cinematic setting OF " What is it?
Then one more thing... Recording at 100 ISO I realized that the quality even in the daytime with the sun in the parts more in the shadow form of the noise of the grain can be corrected? Thank you!!!!!
That was so insightful! Thank You very much for this.
lenn0n1 you are most welcome. Thanks for the positive feedback!
Hey Jeff, that's great video buddy... thanks for such an informative video... will follow your video to learn more. I just was wondering about "GAIN SETTINGS" . Do you have any suggestion for that? regards. ajay

Thanks for the thumbs up Neil, glad you found this helpful.
Thanks Jeff, great again. Reinhard from Germany
Danke Reinhard für das positive Feedback!
Excellent and very helpful video Jeff. I am learning to create more professional films with my Mavic Air and this was really helpful. I notice you had three filters in the kit although there is a larger kit with more filters available. Would you recommend I invest in the larger kit or woukd the 4 8 and 16 be suitable? I am planning to film in bright sunlight. Thank you
A Google User interesting timing, i just posted a video today on this. For bright sunlight, i would suggest getting the custom set of 3 from polar pro and get the 8,16, and 32. That should cover just about any situation. Happy flying!
Thank you for sharing this, its very useful
Question I am new with dji mavic air this setting are for recording video, it will affect picture mode?,thanks
Awesome stuff! Would be super nice if DJI would set up some type of presets based on what most people try to achieve manually. For instance
Cinematic Mode1 4K:24fps, Shutter 50, Gimbal, Controls and Breaking Smooth
Cinematic Mode 2 1080p 24fps, Shutter 50, Gimbal, Controls, and Breaking Smooth
Slow Motion 1 1080p 120fps, Shutter 240 etc.
I don’t even think it gives you the option to save profiles like this at this point does it? If not, definitely should. If so, please let me know how. Thanks! Keep up the great work!
Thanks for your tips, will try those setting for my MA.
Denny W you are very welcome. Happy flying
I have one question for you . After you set up your MA with these setting will they stay at the setting you put in or do they default back to original setting after you turn off your MA?
Thank you, very much for that
Great suggestions. Made my flying much better. Thanks!
Thanks Jamal, i am glad you found this helpful!
This is what I have been looking for. Thanks!!
Awesome, glad to help Slam Duncan!
