Golden tip in all this was using bronze wool instead of steel. It took me months to get rid of all the embedded rust specs on the GRP after cleaning up a hand rail with steel wool! Keep up the good work #TYTACOMARINE
If you ever run into that again, a gallon of Goof Off Rust Remover works pretty good :) Costs $10 at Home Depot and you just dump it on the deck, give a light scrub and hose it off. Usually works pretty good :)
I had not seen the way you finished off the string before. It really makes a nice way to lock off the end of the string after tightening, without loosing the tension in the string. Greg
collinite wax and their other products are amazing. It’s old school and underrated. I’ve ran it alongside modern waxes on my trucks and boats and it always seems to hold Up the best
Nice job guys. L@@k forward to Tuesdays to see what you’re fixing next. Thanks for the down to earth comments on how you go about getting thing done in different ways.
Everyone looks for Friday . I look forward to technician's Tuesday. Love the way you show and explain things. Without a bunch of this and that's and a life story. Can't wait till next Tuesday. Thanks. #Thank you Taco Marine
Hey, i have been a fan of you for a long time! Im a fifteen year old guy and i am restoring a twenty feet boat i just bought. I also love fishing and would really apresuate to get som rodholders! I used your videos as a guide while i changed my transom and it went great! #TYTACOMARINE
Big fan of Collinite products Many pass due to price, etc Give it a try Original 1991 yacht topside finish would include your reflection Yes original gel coat and 1991 finish Been using their products for 10 years Thanks for this shared video / details
I love the way the aluminum came out on the boat. I will do that on my brothers boat next year to restore his. I also use taco marine rod holders on my boat so #TYTACOMARINE ! And thank you for the great videos !
If you us Draino it will clean the corrosion pitting in aluminum. It's the same as B55 which I used in the aircraft industry. Just removes the corrosion. Do not get it on metal.
Would like to see your video or have you make one on how you installed measured and everything and anchored the other type of Bimini top that I see on the finished boat not this canvas but the other type that our extensions of this canvas top that cover the bow and Stern areas, shall we say. That's the style I'm wanting to put on my boat as I don't have any frame for a canvas top. Hope that's not too much to ask. Maybe just go over even though it's finished just go over and show us the areas that you and how you anchored it and where and why and what material you used what items hardware you use etc and don't forget the issues you ran into that you had to solve and how you solved them.
You inspired me to change the upper motor mounts on my 250 EFI Mercury. But after lifting the power head I discovered the motor mount bolts ended up being seized into the swivel bracket. My local mercury dealer allowed me to look through their bone pile and sold me an entire swivel and trim tilt assembly from a used motor for $500 bucks! I put it all back together and she ran like a million dollars! Now the T-top of that same boat, a 1990 Donzi F-23 doesn’t look all the different from your ocean master! She could use the same treatment! Except my canvas did manage to survive Irma #TYTACOMARINE
Fantastic video. That t top looks amazing. Mine has a little pitting. I have never seen or heard of bronze wool. Great idea. I'm gonna try to find some bronze wool. Thanks.
Great channel! Always look forward to Tuesdays! Sure could use that wax and a few of those rod holders.. #TYTACOMARINE ! Keep up the good work. Rock on!
Great. video on this subject. I like the presentation and fast forward as needed to move it along at just the right pace. Will look for those Collinite products for my next new or used boat. Also those are some sweet refit rod holders and #TYTACOMARINE
After watching all these videos for this boat, I tip my hat to you for starting and finishing it because there was a lot to do! A lot to repair! Makes me wonder now I want to ask you, when you found this vessel, what made you decide on this vessel when you obviously with your skills and knowledge knew how much work was ahead of you.? There's got to be a reason why you chose this vessel even though it needed all this work I'd like to know. Again I commend you and tip my hat to you.!
Keep the amazing videos coming. I'm currently working on my project boat and have learned a lot from your videos. Thank you for sharing all these trips and tricks with us #TYTACOMARINE
love your videos man and love that you were able to answer my questions on my personal boat my self so just want to say thanks for that and keep up all the good work #TYTACOMARINE
I love your videos and have learned a lot and tackled things I might not have. QUESTION: when I tried the bronze wool on my tee top tubing, which looked just like the condition yours was in, it did nothing, just glided over the tubing with no effect no matter how much I rubbed. Was the bronze wool TOO fine, or was it the anodize? I thought they're all anodized. Keep up the good work!
Hey man, I’ve been restoring an old Boston Whaler, and some of you’re advise has helped a lot. I have some railings on the boat that need to be fixed up and this helped a lot. Thanks for another awesome video. #tytacomarine
I just did this 3 weeks ago. Wish I would've know about the bronze wool, would've saved me some work for sure. You're videos are great, keep em comin! #tytacomarine
Just an fyi- Narrow beam boats should not carry T-tops. It transfers weight up, especially when held on to. You can flip your boat- just like that- even in calm water. I've seen it happen on a 17 foot Aquasport like the one I owned - just inside of an inlet. 8 feet in the beam or don't do it 🙏
You are too young to be this smart!. ☺.. Thank you for another boating life lesson! I've been using Colonite Fleet Wax products for many years, and have gotten great results.. Thank you BAB for another great video and thank you Taco Marine for your great products. #tytacomarine
Just finished refurbishing the S/S pipes on the hard top of my '05 Trophy 2503. It had been neglected by previous owner and, as you said, what's gone is gone and it's not coming back. But, the majority was still in good shape and I followed your bronze wool plus the 3 step Collonite polishing and waxing process. It came out awesome! The boat will be living in only modestly salty environment in the northeast. What do you suggest for periodic maintenance?

Why not just use zip ties and be done? Keep some extra handy for replacements when they break from the UV? Not a boat guy but I would like to be

Have never heard of #1 Bronze wool #2 the Collinite metal wax!! Learn something new every day Aaron! thanks boss!
“And yes, there are chickens everywhere in the keys” How randomly hysterical was that! Excellent vid.
I've had good results using a (generic) Magic Eraser on aluminum tubes. Followed by detailers spray way. Good tip w/using the zip ties!
Great tips on the polishing process. # Thank you Taco Marine for showing great customer service.
Our pleasure.

Boats are definitely a labor of love, Your classes and suggestions keep me going on my old boat! #TYTACOMARINE
The Roosters were raising hell in the Key Largo Publix parking lot Friday! The Ocean Master is starting to look good again 👍👍
Sand it with 800 grit Crocker's cloth and spay it with cerakote mc 5100 clear coat for bare aluminum for a more lasting finish
Just strung up a new canvas on my t-top. This video was very helpful. Thanks!!!
Been using Colonite Wax on EVERYTHING since the early 90's. Best stuff on the market, bar none! Turned dozens of people onto it.

Perfect timing for me, i have been wanting to polish my t top, now i know how, excellent video.

I appreciate that!
Ball busting work, but somebody's gotta do it;) Very Professional. I don't own a boat anymore. Keep the videos coming.

Soak the edges of the holes in the canvas with super glue, works awesome, trick I learned from old school marine tech

Fantastic video. That t top looks amazing. Mine has a little pitting. I have never seen or heard of bronze wool. Great idea. I'm gonna try to find some bronze wool. Thanks.
I'm doing the same thing to my cape horn 17 , it going to be sweet , # thanks for the polishing tips and stringing my top
Quick tip you can use a soldering iron for poking holes in the canvas and it melts it so it doesn’t fray. #TYTACOMARINE
Noxon metal cleaner actually works pretty well to and a good quality chrome poliish. I'm going to try using a mini buffing pad on my dye grinder 😂.
Great channel! Always look forward to Tuesdays! Sure could use that wax and a few of those rod holders.. #TYTACOMARINE ! Keep up the good work. Rock on!
Thank you Taco Marine!! You guys are the best 👌 👍
Great video! I love your channel, as a boat owner it seems like every video you post pertains to me. Thanks for sharing!!
Thank that's awesome!

Very educational for new boaters
Great video, worked perfectly!!!
Like that top it came out clean👍
Y’all are the man I learned so much from watching your show and thanks to toco marine for all the products
#tytacomarine always good to not cheap out and have some good rod holders
A pencil soldering iron will burn holes in the canvas and prevent fraying; similar to burning ends of cut rope.
You don’t need the insulator wax the metal wax followed by the #885 wax is plenty. The 885 is the best protection you will find
love your videos man and love that you were able to answer my questions on my personal boat my self so just want to say thanks for that and keep up all the good work #TYTACOMARINE
Thx Taco
Such great info. I’m re decking a 1975 Pontoon boat in Louisiana. You are an inspiration. #TYTACOMARINE

Cool channel with lots of tricks and tips! Thoes #tytacomarines rod holders are sweet!
Great vids. #tytacomarine that t-top came out great.
NevRDull is awesome for aluminum too.
Instead of sealant on the holes through the canvas, you can always put a metal ring grommet into the canvas.
You should throw a tarp under your T top to catch any particles that fall. Just an idea while watching.
Never heard of bronze wool, good to know., T TOP turned out awesome. #TYTACOMARINE
Thank god its Tuesday
Love learning new things from you!!! #TYTACOMARINE

Lol - yeh right!! Tell that to the 100's and 1000's of tops out there. It's a ridiculous statement.
Mr Miyagi would be proud of you 👍
Did they ever do anything with the property at Ocean Isles fishing village ?
Lol um, they have the seawall done I believe, and everything is cleared, but no construction started just yet :/
Born Again Boating original karate kid wax on wax off more my era 80’s wasn’t sure if ya seen that film .. 😂....
