I cant tell you how much this song means to me, when gran took me into the front lounge of Loch Indaal House and showed me the active lighthouse and the moon shining glittering on Loch Indaal and told me these are the Lights Of Loch Indaal, Calum, Anne and the Kennedy's were often playing as we stood. But this one song above all other beautiful songs is the jewel among all others that takes me right back to my childhood and the happy haunting times on Islay, oh how I remember those shores and hills with tears of fond remembrance in my eyes.
A beautiful song, from a wonderful singer, I remember Calum, Anne and Fiona on BBC Scotland back in the early years, when Fiona was about 16 she sang a beautiful song the Dark Island.
What an amazing Gaelic singing family they all were, Calum, Anne and their five daughters. Calum's singing of Mo Mhathair can still bring a tear to the eye at any time, Ian. Lovely filming to accompany Anne's singing. Although I was born and raised in sight of Islay (in Kintyre) it was only in the last few years I visited it with my late wife. It is a magical place.
