      I know this is 1 year ago. But no, peeling blackheads only really removes the "blackhead", but not the entire pore. Your pore is like a straw, it's long, by peeling them using nose strips, you're only peeling the top of it, not cleaning the entire shaft.
      It's better to use BHA to really cleanse everything from top to bottom.

      +DutchEastIndianApplePie Primate refers to the taxonomix order Primates that includes all species of monkeys, apes (including humans and other extinct hominins), lemurs, lorisids and tarsiers (I think I got all the major subdivisions). Basically if it lives in a tree or used to live in a tree, has a big brain, has opposable thumbs and stereoscopic vision as its primary sense it's probably a primate. Other features include prehensile tails and trichromatic vision though these are not as common.

    I so needed to see this when I was 12. Now, twenty years later, after struggling with acne, skin picking, and all kinds of topical treatments, I now just use water and a silver-laced Norwex cloth to wash my face twice a day. No soap. No medicine. No makeup. And my skin is finally beautiful because I'm not tampering with my skin's natural oils. However, I still get a tiny pimple or two during PMS, but that's hormonal, normal, and they go away quickly and don't hurt like the cystic acne I used to get. I also sometimes splash a little Dead Sea salt water on my face, let it sit for a few minutes, and then rinse off. This is my face regimen. It's perfect for me.

    • @elliface
      @elliface Před 8 lety +6

      What on earth is a silver-laced Norwex cloth? Are you from space?

    • @Tea4E
      @Tea4E Před 8 lety +4

      +Amber Gohn Norwex is a Norwegian company that makes cleaning supplies. The one I use is a micro fiber cloth with tiny silver threads. The microfiber pulls dirt off my face, and when you ring it out and let it dry, the silver automatically kills bacteria, so the cloth is fresh and clean each use!
      I found out about it when I was managing a juice bar. A rep came in and told me all about it and how she doesn't use soap anymore. She didn't even try to sell it to me but instead just wanted to share her truth. She left me her catalog, and then months later I bought the 3-pack facial cloth set on Amazon to give it a try. And now I'm a believer too. You can get the cloths cheaper from a rep rather than Amazon, but regardless of what you spend, the cloths last a good long time. I wash them in the laundry once a week. I haven't tried any other Norwex products, only the face cloths. :)

    • @Tea4E
      @Tea4E Před 8 lety +2

    I had one black head on my nose that I let go for a while. It kept getting bigger and more unsightly, until I squeezed it out. Yea though I put Ice on the spot directly afterwards, it left a hole, the size of the black head. The hole was much less visible than the black head but took a couple of years to shrink back to normal pore size.
    I had a good friend in high school who had acne and it effected him in big ways, socially. He under took a number of medical treatments that did not cure the acne but when it finally cleared up as an adult, there was almost no scarring.
    Serious acne can have major effects on a person because of the massive social insecurity that often accompanies it.

      I used to struggle with this too... for over 15 years. I saw a free therapist at my college and he got me to start a picking journal. I found out I had a pattern!!! I was the most anxious and picked my face the most two times a month... right before my period, and right before ovulation. My skin picking was linked to hormones and anxiety. Knowing my pattern eased my anxiety. What helped me most was using just water and Norwex facial cloths (they are threaded with silver) as well as a Mindful Body Awareness email campaign I found. I can't find the email campaign on the web anymore, but I can forward my old emails to you if you like.

    • @BriWhoSaysNi
      @BriWhoSaysNi Před 8 lety +6

      Same reason hair grows anywhere. Areoli (the darker areas of skin around your nipples) have functioning hair follicles just like any other part of your skin. The hair may be lighter or darker or more of less noticeable depending on the person, but it's totally normal.

  • @ERPP8
    @ERPP8 Před 8 lety +25

    I still call BS that popping zits is always bad. People who say that tend to assume "popping a zit" entails going after it with a pocket knife and not stopping until something comes out. But in my 7 years as a teeneager, every gigantic zit I had would stay for days, if not weeks, until it was ready to be popped, after which, the zit, and any scarring, would go away immediately.

    • @RainAngel111
      @RainAngel111 Před 8 lety +13

      +ERPP8 Yeah same. I think the main concern is that when you pop the zit and release the pus, it can be spread to other pores and therefore create more zits.
      When I pop a zit I always wash my face after and if it was really bad, put a little disinfectant on it.
      I also try to squeeze it until no more pus come out and it bleeds a bit. The tiny red scab is a lot easier to hide than a pus filled whitehead.
      Whenever I pop a zit it's pretty much gone by the next day whereas leaving it means it usually lasts more than a week.

    • @David-ud9ju
      @David-ud9ju Před 6 lety +3

      ERPP8 Yeah, I think people who have acne scarring are just way too extreme with it, because I've been squeezing spots for a decade and don't have any scarring whatsoever.

    Funny how I was thinking about this topic just earlier today, from a previous video long ago, explaining how pores clog and all that... Ladies and gentlemen, 100k+ years of evolution and our pores still clog up, burst, get infected and inflamed, if you poke or scratch at them, even accidentally. But what's even WORSE, is that we have on top of all that, developed this peculiar, complex brain, that will find the results and effects of the aforementioned aftermath - really, really gross.

    • @darklord247
      @darklord247 Před 8 lety

      Clogged pores don't kill people, so there wouldn't be any reason for us to lose it other than maybe sexual selection.

    • @Wuffskers
      @Wuffskers Před 8 lety +3

      +Daniel Renard much like what was explained in the butt hair video, not every trait has an evolutionary purpose. Neutral traits are likely to persist. If there is not evolutionary pressure in favor of a trait but also not a significant amount against a trait, the trait will probably stay even if it's annoying. Meaning acne never caused someone to die or be unable to breed, at least not back then. A long time ago if a human was afflicted with acne their potential mate did not have the privilege of being as picky about skin as we tend to be now.
