  • You have probably heard of this HOT new bass fishing technique by now. Hover Strolling made it's way onto the scene a few years ago, but only recently gained popularity. We recently had ‪@rawrfishing‬ on our LIVE podcast and he dropped some awesome tips on the hover strolling technique. So I decided to take a short bank fishing trip to try it out for myself. See the results for yourself! Let me know what you think in the comments below!

    Very nice, try using traditional method so that you can have more options of lighter weights. 0.6 grams will make it sink a bit slower and allowing you fish it slower and you can try other techniques from the banks such as pendulating.

    I love taking 2-2.5 inch plastics with a tiny worm hook and a 1/32 or 1/16 ounce bullet weight and setting up a texas rig on a BFS setup. I hit crappie, LMB, blue gill all day long on thoes.

    • @ko-yoshi
      @ko-yoshi Před 16 dny +1

      lol that would definitely work. If we’re hover strolling you can mash the split shot into a nail weight or two. And if midstrolling you could manipulate the lead crimping to be similar to the range roller. But honestly in Japan they’ve been doing this exact tech for over a decade with the classic keitech ball head. So the terminal tackle doesn’t need to be fancy. I’d argue the soft bait actually matters more for the roll you’ll get, as long you thread the bait right and your twitching technique is good 😁

    The name Hover Strolling made it's way onto the scene...but I have a hard time believing I've been the only guy fishing small jig minnows forever before all this strolling lingo came along. Same with the "free rig"....catchy name but nothing new. lol I guess it's good to see some technique specific lures come out, but so much of it just seems like marketing hype for FFS.

      It’s the fishing industry, it’s all marketing hype. I work in the fishing industry and seeing titles put on things that everyone has already been doing for decades drives me bonkers. And then you get the guys that buy into it hardcore. Casting and retrieving a jig with a plastic minnow on it is now called “hover strolling” apparently. I mean, kids have been doing this since the inception of soft plastics. Now we put a label on it, call it a “new technique”, and then charge people out the ass for “technique specific” tackle…

    • @aaanglers

    Ok one more comment lol i think youd agree with. You can be the master of one lure and have days they just wont eat it or you can be a master of a couple lures and adverage at a couple dozen so you always have things to fall back on and catch fish.

    • @aaanglers
