Ultra instinct shaggy let's go!!! Also loving that 200 point wonder woman! Glad we're getting the big characters with big fun dials again
Scott, start playing with your son now. Just no powers, only the numbers. As a math teacher, I used Heroclix to work on addition and subtraction skills with my son when he was younger.
I also never let him win. We would talk about how to improve his strategy. One on my proudest Heroclix moments was when my son and I went to GenCon. He was 12 years old and beating 40 year olds.
Ultra Instinct Shaggy started as a meme from that episode. In the episode, Shaggy has a temporary personality change and beats up a bunch of bikers. The fight scene was compared to ultra instincts Goku from DragonBall Super. Thus, the meme Ultra Instincts Shaggy was born.
Later, in a Mortal Comabt movie where they introduced the Warner Brothers logo. They had Scorpion bouncing around only for the logo to open up, and Ultra Instincts Shaggy reached out and pulled him through. For fans of the meme this was proof that Ultra Instincts Shaggy was canon.
They also later added Ultra Instincts Shaggy to a DC fighting game. Now he is in clix as well.

So in legends of the phantonsaur, Shaggy gets hypnotized so that when he hears a certain word, he becomes confident and fearless. Idk where all those powers came from though, cause he doesn’t go all cosmic lol.
That said I’m sad we’re 6 packs in and still no Batman in any form in what is supposed to be his set. 🤣
There is a video where someone edited the bar fight scene to make it look like Shaggy is in ultra instinct form (from DBZ). It has since become a meme where Shaggy only needs "a fraction of his full power" to do something incredible. The quotes on the card are from the original movie.
@@Virulisk yea I get that but I don’t think this is the “ultra instinct” shaggy. That shaggy I believe is in the chase. If I remember correctly, his first click for the chase had hypersonic, pulse wave, impervious and shape change. With some decent numbers at that

That shaggy is super cool...I'm not a big fan of Scooby-Doo but I wouldn't mind having that shaggy...I really dig that jinx...I think she would be fun with past titans
More Doom Patrol!! I didn't plan on buying this set b/c of the Scooby/Go sets, but man, after seeing this and then thinking how fun they will be for my clix gamer in training, I'm all in!

Even as a kid, I was never a fan of scooby doo.
I cared more about Batman, Harlem Globetrotters, and Jerry Reid were guest stars, than the show.

@@reapproductions4437 the chases are the entire Scooby gang, and then a Batman and Robin from one of their team up films if I’m correct. No idea who or what the 8th chase in the set is.
Danny the street does look like a reprint map. They could of changed the layout, hard to remember if it's one for one.
Yeah I have the old version of them, the owner of the place I play Heroclix gave me one for free when I walked in with a Danny Street shirt.
Hoping to see BER from teen titans go. If they end up in the set it would completely blow me away.

You are quite right about getting into reading DC comics. Pick out some of the best stories and don't get too much into the reboots and continuity. Marvel is also quite overwhelming for new readers to get into. They never really did reboots like DC, but continuously change characters and continuity without those reboots. Both modern and recent DC and Marvel can be very confusing to get into.
That Robotman could be both Grant Morrison and the Gerard Way version. It could also be the TV series version and a TV version Cyborg would be great.

Those Teen Titans Go are really good. And the Wonder Woman 044 is way better than the Superman with just a great dial

Ultra Instinct Shaggy and Danny the Street, I'm sold. Danny the Street has been a map before; I cam into the store I play Heroclix at wearing a Danny Street shirt and the owner gave me that map for free. Also pretty sure Danny's pronouns are they/them, just like Grant Morrison.

Both that Wonder Woman and that Robotman is better for their points compared to this set's Superman.
The Play At Home Shaggy is absolutely ridiculous and Wizkids pandering. I too was curious what the hell was up with this dial and watched The Legend of the Phantasaur over lunch (since I work from home). All the references on the card are from one scene and all he does is beat up a bunch of bikers in a cafe. This figure should have high attack stats, Flurry, a little Charge/Sidestep, maaaaaaybe a click of Invulerability, but toughness, Combat Reflexes and Super Senses would track, maybe some Quake and topped off with Perplex and Outwit with maaaaaybe a click or 2 of mid dial Hypersonic to coincide with the movie. He should not ever break 75 points....EVER. All these aforementioned powers and abilities he actually uses in the movie. Invincible, full dial hypersonic, crazy high damage......just no. You can make a good figure and have it make sense. This is just stat and power mashing with unbelievable lazy design. BOOOOOOO

Calling this piece "Ultra Instinct Shaggy" is like calling Bugs Bunny "Big Chungus." One developed from the other. Ultra Instinct is specifically a reference to a state of high power in Dragonball Z. It usually involves burning eyes and flame auras. As the meme developed, that became part of it and the character became known as "Ultra Instinct Shaggy."
This piece is intended to be Ultra Instinct Shaggy... But no flames on the sculpt? A designer at Gen Con apparently remarked that WB wouldn't allow them to include the flames on the sculpt. Ugh, WB.
Calling this sculpt Ultra Instinct without the flames is like calling a plain Taco Bell taco a supreme even though it doesn't have sour cream and tomatoes.
It's fine, I guess, but this version of Shaggy from the Phantosaur episode predates Ultra Instinct Shaggy by about a decade.
This version of Shaggy basically gets hypnotized to become unstoppable when he hears a code word ("bad") but the hypnosis session erases his memory at the end, so he doesn't remember what the code word is.
Worst DC set Ever! Wizkids will regret this insane one... One DC set for year Is not place to experiment! It Is not going to sell well.
I would say you could be right. This set is all over the place. Animation, TV and comics. Various styles with no ties but being Warner Bros. characters. And all those constructs and rings.
However I will be buying the Miniatures Game, and the Play at Home Kit. And have already ordered a CUR set. I hope this will not bomb, because the no DC sets will be made for quite a while.
