1. Your destiny is in your hands
When he was young, his family lived in a council flat.
2. Recognize failure
After leaving school at 16, he worked as a statistician at the Ministry of Education.
3. Seize opportunities
He started selling electrical goods out of a van which he had bought with his savings of £50.
4. Have a good work ethic
He founded Amstrad (AMS (his initials) Trading) in 1968.
5. Stick to what you know
The company specialized in consumer electronics.
6. Appreciate your team
At its peak Amstrad achieved a stock market value of £1.2 billion.
7. Have discipline
He appears in the BBC TV series The Apprentice.
8. Track your progress
He was knighted "for services to the Home Computer and Electronics Industry".
9. Analyze your marketplace
He is a fan of and the former owner of Tottenham Hotspur.
10. Let your product do the talking
A qualified pilot with 30 years' experience, he owns a Cirrus SR22 four-seat aircraft.

One thing i love with this one is that he is the first entrepreneur i have heard that actually takes weekends "off", compared to Garyvee talking about constantly hustling. I like his idea about effective and productive work instead of just work for the sake of working. Big UP!

So do you pay more tax then you have to?
+Fly Agaric HMRC make the rules. They could change them but they don't.
No there is nothing wrong or illegal with avoiding tax. Its what intelligent people have been doing for years and you can do it too if you understand the tax system we live in. But let me guess, you wouldn't do it because you're to "honest". The reason people tell themselves that is because they have been convinced by the media that it matters. So they will keep paying loads of tax and people that understand the system can carry on using the system the way it was designed by the establishment to be used.

I always liked the East Ender, although I don't agree with some of his political views. Although I can understand where the council flat grafter was coming from. Is Sugar the UK equivalent of Jack Tramiel? It's good advice he's giving here, but business is usually cut-throat and seems to be getting increasingly so.
That's a pretty limiting mindset #BTA185
I like Alan Sugar but I really don't like The Apprentice. Series 1 was good but then it ended up on BBC1 and sold itself out for a broad audience and high ratings. Typical downward trajectory. Just my opinion. I'm sure it's inspired some people to start a business but I know it's inspired some people to start a business and make a total mess of it because their expectations were wrong.
