On the eve of WWII, the interwar Jewish world was creative and complex, a rich mosaic, full of change and hope for the future. Within a decade, most of Europe would be conquered by Nazi Germany. By 1945 two out of every three of these Jews were silenced forever.
The sights and sounds of this video are those of the Jews of Europe before the Holocaust. In their own words, through their diaries, letters and notebooks, and through their family films.

I've had to pause many times so as to enjoy looking at each face and wonder about the rich meaning of each individual life. Pre-war Ashkenazi Jewish life has always had a poignant, powerful charm on me. Thank you so much for these precious footages.
One day I will visit the camps..I will walk in with my head held high, my Star of David with me. And will pray for all those who have passed there.
I am a Muslim i think jews are nice people we are not your enemy stop the war spread love and peace :'(
I love to see so much about the Jewish Culture. Such lovely and kind people who have always been helpful to me whenever our lives crossed paths.
I will never understand why we hate and hurt people for any reason. Can't humanity just get along.
As far as I am concerned these victims will never be forgotten. (I am not Jewish)
"Never Again" is not a slogan, but now a genetic part of our Jewish Heritage.
Such beauty and such peace... Love and respect from India. You will be remembered...
This is very beautiful. Thank you.
Very beautifully done! If its not a problem could anyone tell me the name of the beautiful music used at the begining?
And to think. This all happened bc of their ethnicity. It’s so sad. RIP to all of these innocent ppl who died bc of what they are.
Thank goodness these precious films still exist.
They remind us of who we lost.
They remind us of how much we lost.

Yes
Over 3300 year old Jewish tradition... not just 2000 years... it makes a difference.
The tragedy and the horror of the Shoah is only avenged by Zionism and the rebirth of Eretz Israel. Never forget.
I am a Sephardi but I thank the Lord I have been saved and I am a CHRISTIAN. When the Jews Crucified the Lord Jesus Christ the bible says the Jews placed a Curse on their heads by openly and angrily declaring: "Let His blood be upon us and our Descendants Children forever".
