C&O 1309: A NYC 6 Chime In The Allegheny’s

We our first trip out of the keystone state to catch EX C&O 1309, Thinking to hear a hooter to our surprise we heard a NYC 6 chime whistle. So watch and listen a mallet and sounds of New York central in the mountains

Honestly, the NYC 6 chime fits the big Mallet surprisingly well. It's a good alternative whistle to the Hooter. According to several folks online, 1309's boiler pressure is actually pretty close to that of the legendary NYC Hudsons, so this may be the closest we get to hearing the real thing (unless a group like the PRR T1 project forms and somehow builds a new one).
