Soundtoys have finally released a new plugin and it was worth the wait! SuperPlate is insane!!
5 great plate reverb flavours including the already incredible LittlePlate algorithm. Three preamps - two of which add so much flavourful saturation and even pleasant distortion when pushed.
And, the new auto-decay feature needs to be heard to believed!

this is definitely my new fav reverb!! being able to have the reverb restart everytime the signal goes over a threshold is unexpectedly game changing

Lexicon PCM80 can restart a decay as well. Nothing new btw.

It’s great to see Soundtoys coming back to the game with this plugin. Always loved the little plate but it was too limited for most of Mixing scenarios.

You didn't mention that the low and hi pass filters are pre reverb and the parametric eqs are post reverb. You can only disable the parametric eqs in the graphic display.
I don’t know what it is about this plugin but it has been on every project of mine since it came out. It gives your music a “real” sound. This has to be better than hardware plates with all the added functionality.
Should we be expecting more Soundtoys plugins to come, or is this a one-off? Very much going to grab this one, but would it be worth waiting for a larger potential Soundtoys V5 upgrade?
it resonates like hell :-( cool thing for synth kind of stuff but I doubt on mixing purposes. ValhallaVV can candle it (even with needed cut out LF up to 500-1k but still no resonating stuff especially on plate which is well, funny example ;-)
Nice review. You need to add a bit of attack and release to that bass sound to stop the clicks!
Hey Ed. The musical bits and the drums are coming from Loopmix which chops up and glitches samples. I don't think it has an attack/release per slot. @@Taylor_King Believe me Soundtoys have been virtually trolled to update the Gui of their plugins but who knows when theyll actually do this because releasing new plugins is clearly more important to them.
What's going on with your dialogue mic? It pulsated between "full" and "filtered" sounding, back and fourth.

I commented elsewhere that I think it might be 'background audio cleanup' artifacts?

yeah, it's super weird and random phasing quirks. I think they tried using some of the new "remove background noise" algo's on it. Sitting in the sweet spot of my home studio, the audio playback on his mic is all wrong.
I like little plate, very useful. But I "traded" it for a full bundle upgrade. Now I have super plate and the rest.

UAD EMT 140 sounds better to me.
Could just be my experience but this thing was a huge CPU hog. It became unusable for me.
Many better plate verbs available for less. I thought this company was out of business. Their support is abysmal 😢

Plugin sounds amateur. Customer support is poor. I thought this company was out of business. Crashed when I tried to use it. Should be a free plugin. So many better plate options available.
