Interesting! A wealthy cousin of mine moved to that town last year, buying a $2.3 million dollar house. I live in downtown L.A. where the dangerous 'wild' life is human.
Humans are a pretty destructive invasive species, what are we going to do about them just going up into some random bear's forest? Hell, once I came back to my cave only to find that there were empty beer bottles everywhere and 2 humans lying in their own sick. Humans, am I right guys? 😅
My brother lived in the foothills in Monrovia, I would often see a female bear sitting in his fish pond. I would walk by and think, oh how cute the bear is in the fish pond, then I would realize I just walked by a bear. Anyhow, we moved into the bears’ territory by living in the foothills, after years of drought here, the bears have been forced to search harder for water and food. You just have to be Bear Aware, store your trash in a safe manner, be aware on local trails and respect the bears. Sierra Madre, Arcadia, Duarte, Altadena, parts of Pasadena, all of these foothill communities are may have local black bears, just be smart, use common sense. Black bears are not aggressive unless cornered or threatened, and of course, watch for the mama bears with their cubs. I have been on the trail to the waterfall in Monrovia and seen a mama bear and her cubs. She paid no attention to me, but I respected her and gave her the distance she needed to feel safe.
2:38 Something to reduce the Bear Population? I got a better idea... How about controlling human population? Where's the control's on that? How about not building homes in Bear Territories?
Thanks for pointing that out. I guess we should just drive out the wildlife while we’re not busy burning their habitat with arson and downed power lines right? /facepalm
This is a totally incorrect and alarmist report. I live in Sierra Madre and the bears are important to the real community. Out of the supposedly 4 attacks, 2 were totally provoked, one man walked up to the bear to pet it. It was originally reported that the home broken into was not well secured in the first place. Please do not make the bears out to violent criminals. Or do another story with the other side.
Whoah scary. Hopefully those bears aren’t armed. Maybe don’t live near the mountains. The bears are hungry and u r living near their habitat. I think LA county has more pressing issues with crime and homelessness..
If we fly a few thousand cougars and wolves into the area, drop them out of the cargo planes with parachutes on. The bears will be so busy with their new competition they will forget about humans.
Sierra Madre is great except for this and the lousy School District. Better if you live south of Orange Grove or even better yet south of the 210. You get a better school district and no bears or mountain lions.
My best friend grew up and lived in that little town until 2018 when he moved from California. I grew up two towns over and moved out of California as well, but before so I visited him in that town and we saw them in his and everyone else’s yards and streets all the time. He named them, but I don’t recognize any of them in the footage. “Brownie” was his favorite (no, we didn’t feed him nor get too close), but he was relocated because he scared too many people.
People say bringing more people in is good for the economy, but all these bankruptcies were filed. 1,500 or much, much, more people move California every day, but the hierarchy doesn't build more stores, more freeways, more schools, or more prisons. People don't stop all the new people from coming.
Because you know if they aren't protecting their houses, you know for a fact their kids are definitely not being secured, let alone taking care of of course
People should not be allowed to go outside. That's bear territory. If a bear comes in your home, too bad. It just wants to eat. You have no right to prevent that. If it kills your family, again, too bad. It's just protecting it's territory, it's cubs, or wants to eat. People are to blame for being in the wrong place. Stay where you belong. Never interfere with a bear in anyway. That's nature. People have no business interfering with nature.
Looking for a solution here is my suggestions, put Bars on windows and a electic fence ought to do the job at keeping the bears out providing it is legal to do so.
And the circle continues. Cute little things. Management now? All goes back to the good old book & about what it says about man & his stewardship over all earth's resources. How simple?
You know what they say. You can't fix stupid but you could tax it. You should tax people that cannot comply or leave their house or properties in an instigating manner that wildlife would find it irresistible or easy to invade or intrude unintendedly people just cannot use common sense these days and it must be embedded in them if they want it or not. Only then with the future. Have a hope
The residents remember this you moved into the Bears home the bear did not move into yours respect before dating brother and the four-legged mother because they were there first don’t ever forget it
Glenn. My friend I’m sure the bears were there first. So. It’s us humans moving in their space. Bunch of self centered egotistic All about me me and me Ppl
I’m willing to bet some of those residents at one point in their life said “We should move somewhere close to nature.”…

Go move with your cousin, fix your problem, that's a solution
@@kimbermichelle3922: I'd rather live in a closet of my own than have roommates.
You'll get mauled by a homeless person ten times living in DTLA before your cousin even sees their first bear.
If you live in Sierra Madre you pretty much live in the mountains so why are people are surprised you're moving in on their territory.😂😂😂😂

You know nothing of bears.

Best. comment I’ve. Seen out there.
Thanks for pointing that out.

Covid got some of the numbers of humans down 👍 just wait for the next Plandemic 😂
Controlling human population sometimes starts at the drugstore. Maybe too many people forgot to buy condoms before they laid their girls.
Bears are royalty here
🐻
I'd rather have the bears than the illegals that are sucking the lifeblood out of the state
Sorry, my bears keep getting out...just feed them honey they love it and call me, I'll come pick them up.

Agreed, Maggie. I live here too and those were provoked attacks.
Human population 8 billion
Bear population. ?????
Control human population better

They have the right to bear arms! 🐻
I love bears. Don't hurt the 🐻
Bears love you too; they think you're delicious.
@@MrJuvefrank I'm glad to hear that 👍 😊

You’re a clown, don’t live there if you don’t like bears
Bears coming out for food , shelter or water.
Humans are a neusans to our ecosystem more specifically the rich yt ones.
If you don't like bears don't move to where they are.
Just put apple trees in the wild help them it will help us, we human eat everything no fish left! Are they trying to tell us something?!

Then if u don't want bears near you then move and your problems is solved how about cutting down on the human population that would be better

YOGHI BEAR....HAPPY. 2023. 🇺🇸🐻🇺🇸👌
Because you know if they aren't protecting their houses, you know for a fact their kids are definitely not being secured, let alone taking care of of course
Yogi and Boo Boo are just enjoying the Spring Day!
The bears watched the movie Over The Hedge and are learning tricks.
Oh how cute. They just want some food those bears🐻 cute little creatures
I'd be pretty ticked off if I saw those bears had eaten me out of house and home.
The people in Sierra madre re-elected Gavin Newscum for a second term. Did you really expect Fish and Game to step up and assist.
Those bears are treasure.
Did you ever maybe think that people are invading the 🐻🐻🐻 territory???
If it’s a problem move out. You moved into their home. Humans are the problem.
Janet. Solution is sooooo simple. And these Morons don’t get it. Completely agree with u.
Black bears may be currently reclaiming that space.
California was home to as many as 10,000 bears prior to the Gold Rush in 1848.
Just give out a couple bear tags and problem solved.

Move on the bears were there first if you don’t want the bears in your yard move
U live in a an area where there natural environment is..what do you expect would happen
Human interaction has caused this. It's the humans faults. I vote for the bears. People need to stop invading their space, and stop feeding them.
Protect the bears
Bear spray would be on my grocery list.

Good grief. I live in SM. If you don't like bears, don't move to the mtns. Stop complaining!
Love thy bears!
Except the wall street bears
Look bears was here before humans its time to save the bears. Lets stop jogging and walking in their territory.
The real report should be bears shocked and concerned about people moving into their territory
Wanna trade problems😅
Just need a couple Karen’s and some loudspeakers
Sono tanto carino gli orsi neri americani quasi domestici
Bisogna salvaguardarli
Naturally just walk around in knights armor duh lol with shield and mace lol
Dont like them Please Move
