Should You Let Your Dog Sleep in Your Bed?

- For some dog owners, snoozing next to their furry best friend is a dream come true. But for others, trying to catch some shut-eye with a four-legged snoring machine in the bed is a total nightmare. So is it a good idea to let your pup sleep in bed with you or not? Well, it really depends on a number of factors. I would never let my pup sleep alone. He is part of the family, and if he wants to track dirt, snore or hog my side of the bed, thats ok. He is irrepleceable!

sleeping with my little georgie is the best way we can both relax, he sleeps on his dog bed on my bed and we cuddle in a circle of love until the day starts for both of us and start a new day. We look at each other and say let's pee and get going cause everyday is great togeather

Not every night but sometimes it's just cruel because they want to be with you. Sometimes we make each other uncomfortable and he will get up and choose his crate or the couch but after a few nights him sleeping in the crate he will refuse to let me lock me door and want to cuddle lol
Many do say which I believe in as well dogs sleeping on your bed helps for several reasons. Most get dogs for companionship for the family next is a sense of security. All dogs have a pack instinct within them, whoever in the family is acting as the pack leader usually sets the rules on the property. That being said back to the bedroom, your dog sleeping on your bed or your kids bed helps them feel as if they are doing their role as security it gives them a better view and closer to protect their owner. Sleeping in the bedroom creates the feeling of a den. Packs are most protective of that area and sleeping on your bed or at least close to the owner at a similar level helps with their mental state less anxiety to help prolong their life. Think of us being under stress and sleeping on a hard surface floor our health would not be as prolonged most likely.
Those who leave their pets outside, your removing the best house alarm you could own which is your dog. Your dog could easily wake you if they recognized a disturbance within the home due to their heightened senses and would hear a person walking throughout your home. A burglar hearing growling coming from a room would be less likely wanting to enter, if your dog is outside at night or during the day you remove them from being able to help you completely.
Dogs sleeping on your bed or next to you in your room overall is the best thing one could do for the family and home.

Well in a year my puppy will be able to do that and i would love to let her sleep on my bed sooner but there are soo many things that can go wrong if i do. First she is potty trained yet, second she’s really small so I might crush her while im sleeping , third with the fact of her beng small and my bed being tall height wise if she falls off she might injure herself
Umm, I would think the #1 reason you shouldn't let dogs sleep in the bed with you is because just like in wolf packs; you have to assert yourself as the alpha male, and by letting your dog sleep with you, it could make them think they're the alpha. Edit: That's why they dog beds are on the floor, so they look up to you when they sleep next to the human bed.

I love my french bulldog she has 3 beds but decides to sleep on my bed but she carries dirt and stuff from outside into my bed including bird seed since I own a bird it’s just bothers me that she rolls around in dirt then sleeps in my bed but I feel so bad making her sleep in her own bed even tho she she is right next to me she keeps me warm and she snuggles up to me

Guys, if you're dating a girl who refuses to sleep without her pet animal in the bed with her, she's not the one. She won't give up this gross habit & you'll either have to get used to having little or no sex life, or force yourself to be ok with having an animal audience whenever you want to be intimate with your lady. Not to mention, there's no guarantee the critter won't try to interfere.
