Level 51-60 should be task and time, not just crazy XP requirements. The requirements from 41-50 were easy and the XP was the limiting factors to leveling up.

That's actually pretty light unless you're completely free to play and never bought coins or tickets for items ever. I just hit 48 at Go fest, and it's gonna be a LONG while before I even see 49...

@@Murqle Get used to sending and opening gifts from friends, and try to have many aligned with a lucky egg on like a raid day when you're raiding a lot, or a Community Day

Been playing consistently since summer 2022, was a day one player before, and I'm sitting at 250 ml...I'm kinda hoping it's not going to be a billion to get to 60 and that they don't rework pokémon levels honestly 😅

the crystal is called "bread_mp"
'mp' traditionally stands for "move power" so it implies to me that you're gonna be able to upgrade the strength of your Pokemon when it dynamaxes (a lot like you can in the mainline games)
in the games its "dynamax candy" (which obviously looks more like actual candy, but I think Niantic might be changing it to differentiate the mechanic from their own "candy" system, just like what they did with Megas, changing it from "mega stones" to "mega energy" (because Mega Stones look a lot like GO's candy))

I’m probably wrong but I remember L50 being introduced on 1 Dec 2020 (it was around there). Maybe L60 could be coming out around the same time of year as L50 did? I’m saying that because we’ve had a few events now where we’ve had extra xp and nothing’s happened yet.

I was a Day 1 player but I quit for 3 years at level 37. I started back up in October '23 and have gotten serious about hitting level 50. I swear, if 60 comes out before I hit 50, ima freak out.

never should had a level 50 since level 40 is last level that gives you a level bonus of being able to max out pokemon nothing for the other levels besides some special research for the levels e.get special research at level 50 for mewtwo but you do not get it for free for getting level 50

Sounds like a Max Raid Den Quest. I’d be for that if they don’t force us to use “rental” Pokémon like we did in the Gen 8 DLC. That made a fun feature honestly kinda suck. Sandwich stations sound like getting sandwiches for bonuses in Gen 9. Hope we get the Soup that gives our Pokémon the ability to Gigantimax.

Z moves suck lol. If they add it, you get like one better attack in a raid. That's way less cool rhst getting big and doing damage all raid ya know

I really do hope that they add a new kind of raidpass to the game for those new type of raids, the blue passes were great during covid, but they also completely took away the essence of the game, going out and meeting new people etc.
As for the new level 60 cap, we could potentially see a level crop (take World of Warcraft for example), where the current exp needed for level 50, would get you to level 55-57 when 60 comes out, with the remaining 3-5 levels having a steep exp curve.
I know theres people out there who have hundreds of millions of exp, and crave a new levelcap, but it should also be achievable by the mediocre player. Adding a levelcrop could give both sides an acceptable sollution, but thats just my two cents anyway. Atm i’m only slowly crawling up to level 49 (6mil/25mil) so i’ll probably see the finishline jump miles ahead of me right before i reach it 🤣

For awhile I didn't believe they would raise above 50, because it would require to adjust everything in GBL, Raids, etc....but then I was clued into...they can raise the trainer level and not the Pokemon. Last year they pushed a lot of XP events, more than this year....we had 4x XP (and dust) during Go Fest 2023. I am indifferent, like to see more concrete info on level increase but I do believe it's more viable if they just raise trainer levels and not the Mon. But I am level 50, hitting it hard...I am at 266 mil....but I have a lot of lucky eggs. I am at 44 Platinum...we'll see....
I really hope after level 50 it becomes more quest based to level up rather than exponential xp.
I don't think having exp events is stimulating that level 60 is around the corner. Level 50 players probably only take up a small portion of players. And there is only a few things they can even give bonuses for, they wouldnt just ignore 1 of them because a few players have hit level 50.
I’ve stayed in Eagle River a few times. There’s sufficient stops just not sure I would throw a lucky egg on it.
Why do I have a feeling that these "raids" are going to be pvp battles? Especially if you can only prepare a party of 3 pokemon and the battles occur at pokestops. I would bet that they'll roll out the dmax pokemon in a similar way to shadows then, since each pokemon can be dmaxxed. As for gmax, maybe they'll reserve those for actual raids or maybe special "battle weekends" like we've seen with the shiny shadow legends
To avoid having to reinvest into ultra L Pokémon, I would rather them let you continue to reup and any xp gained goes back into it. That way you still have a progressing to go after, you can receive all the good rewards again, and you not really losing out on anything. The only question would be what lvl pokemon would you be encountering between 1-30.
if it follow main series pvp is still capped lvl 50. Main series competive arent lvl 100 pokemons they are capped at 50

I believe it's roughly 3000 XP per new spin, if you have a lucky egg going, so about 300 new spins to get a Million XP. I don't know how fast you could get 300 spins, but it doesn't feel too crazy this go, plus it'd have to be pretty big cities to have hundreds of stops. I think farming each research for shiny chances might be the better focus, unless you already have most the stuff already.

Niantic gave about a 90 day notice to obtain the level 40 legacy badge. Do you think they would announce that again in September with a November drop? On average I do 360k xp a day and won’t be at 50 till April next year (Lvl 46)…any tips?

There was Adventure Week events that awarded 10x exp for spinning new stops. First community day with 3x exp was over 6 years ago (march 2018)... "Level 51-60 coming soon" is pretty low level click bait even for AK

You get no bonus from going past level 40 that the level that allows you to max out pokemon like level 50 gives you a mewtwo but you have to do special research tasks to get it not given it for getting level 50.
If they alter pokemon levels to 60 does that mean the best IV's are gonna change much? Like will a 0-15-15 still be good, or will tons of leveled up mons get screwed over?
main series pokemons go till 100lvl. even still competive side they capped 50 which prob case on pokemon go aswell

I'm level 49 with 12 millions xp, small town so not much raiding. I hope I'll reach 50 before they implement higher levels! I should before the end of the year if all goes well. 60 will be impossible for me if they keep the same xp system but to be fair, it is so so much easier to get xp than 5 years ago so who knows

If anything should ever push me away from the game it would be for Niantic raising their max lvl to 60..Ive worked hard on 3 different accounts and almost lvl 49 on one and 48 on the other two.
Having them moving the finish line would seriously have a demotivating effect on me.
Im all for the already lvl 50 ppl needs content and thats fair. But couldnt they keep it to the collective aspect in the game? With higher lvl cap comes tougher challenges in raids. Raids ive worked hard to be able to complete on my own in a rural area. For what use?

Stuck at 48 for over a year now because of the trade restrictions, probably will stay there if you won't be able lucky trade people in other countries or the trade restriction removed for lvl 49.

I think there need to introduce extra XP requirement to level up from 50 60, and not count for the XP a trainer has gained so far. Since, many trainers has surpass so far a head.

If the Dynamax/Gigantimax raids end up being raids you have to have a group to do that will be another feature I don't do like party play you can't do party play solo I don't do routes so things that people have to do in a group,things you pretty much have to have access to on a daily basis, or require you to travel to make the most of just aren't that exciting to me most of my friends are global and the friends I have local either hardly play, have quit playing or are co-workers and we don't take our breaks at the same time and we can only be on our phones on our breaks so yeah not that exciting for me

@@alexsnarr9363it would be lots of extra grinding for more candies and stardust since everything would probably scale up in power to accommodate for us getting higher levels. We would just have to spend more money for the same experience, especially in ML.

The leveling system makes no sense already. It's way too much catered towards hardcore players. They're gonna have to squish the exp curve or it's gonna get out of hand really quickly. Needing 2b XP for lvl 60 would take regular players like 20 years.
I know the Level 60 requirements are going to be crazy large. If it is too large, which it will be, it will be disheartening and defeating. Many will quit the game. I have been Level 50 for nearly two years, I have only earned 50M XP per year because of the increase in remote raid cost.

I’m actually not excited for a level increase. I’ve been a level 50 since quickly after it became available but I am just now getting to a point where I can actually battle in Master League due to how many XL candies we need. If they do something like that again I may finally quit this game.
