I can really relate with this movie. Seeing my mother go through domestic abuse, I made up my mind not to ever marry. That if i ever married I was going to be so hard on the man that he would be afraid of me. This was to avoid being abused. God helped me later in life as I gave Him my life. Today I am married to a wonderful man who has never laid a hand on me for years now.

I like the fact that he didn't listen to his wife excuses but sent her packing. It's a psychological issue, she built herself to what she is and no amount of love or patience from her husband can change her. She sees her monster father in her husband so she'll always treat him as an object of vengeance until she goes through rehab. So many men are going through this right now but few or nobody will believe them even if they decide to share their stories. The best thing for anybody going through this kind of relationship is to just leave even if it is your 10th marriage. Forget about what the society will say about you. This movie teaches that when there is an issue on ground between two people, it is always good to hear from both sides and try to get to the root of the matter before drawing your conclusion on who is wrong and who is right. Never be easily manipulated to take sides with any one without hearing from both individuals.

The message here is to not believe everything you hear about people, how people treat you doesn't define you and it's important to address your childhood trauma because it can affect your adulthood. A lot of us are fighting silent battles that we can't speak to anyone about. I'm currently dealing with smear campaign and gangstalking and everyone thinks am paranoid. If you're someone dealing with it, try as much as possible to remain calm and don't react. Also, do things that uplift your spirit and trust that one day everything in the dark will come to light.
Even if you have to remarry 10 times just to get it right, please do. Never listen to what people outside would say. It is only a person who wears the shoes that knows where it pinches him. Great story line. Great actors. Great movie. I was glued all through.

I ran into a program on Facebook where the abusive wife charged the husband to court for running away from home and abandoning them. When the man started narrating his ordeals, how the woman will beat him. People started laughing in the court, meanwhile if it were to be a woman that says that. You will see how people will frown at it and will almost want to stone him to death. This is an eye opener. Lots of abusive people have experiences with their parents and they brought the trauma into their marriage hence making them to misbehave. This is exactly how narcissists behave. It has been documented, analyzed and proven that planning to leave an abusive and toxic relationship is the most dangerous time for that person. Abuse is more about power and control. I can relate to this storyline, at a point my own family left me alone while my ex-husband became theirs. He made sure they all hated me and then he continued abusing me physically and mostly mentally ahhhh 😭😭😭 I still cry just thinking about it. Let's alter the narrative for future generations. Hanging on is not always a good idea.
Abuse on men is not spoken as that of women,but it happens everyday infact i have seen one,the man abandoned the abusive wife and travelled abroad,and has refused to do paper for his wife that marriage became a distance one till date. And another one the husband asked the wife to see a psychologist that he thinks she needs help,so this film is soo relatable and insightful.
He should just let things remain the way they are,from a distance.

I know how exactly how it feels cos that's what my partner ended up making me look like after 17 years of pain. I am on my healing journey and been a better person is the goal.

The message here is to not believe everything you hear about people, how people treat you doesn't define you and it's important to address your childhood trauma because it can affect your adulthood. A lot of us are fighting silent battles that we can't speak to anyone about. I'm currently dealing with smear campaign and gangstalking and everyone thinks am paranoid. If you're someone dealing with it, try as much as possible to remain calm and don't react. Also, do things that uplift your spirit and trust that one day everything in the dark will come to light.

The theme for this movie is spot on!! So many people are in relationship with manipulative and emotionally abusive partners and do not know what to do. Issues related to mental health and post traumatic stress disorder (ptsd) need to be reoccurring themes in Nollywood. The execution of the story was amazing. Kudos to Ruth, Deza, and cast!❤
God bless you ma'am for this movie. Lots of men are going through abusive marriage and nobody is saying anything about it. I ran into a program on Facebook where the abusive wife charged the husband to court for running away from home and abandoning them. When the man started narrating his ordeals, how the woman will beat him. People started laughing in the court, meanwhile if it were to be a woman that says that. You will see how people will frown at it and will almost want to stone him to death. This is an eye opener. Lots of abusive people have experiences with their parents and they brought the trauma into their marriage hence making them to misbehave. This is exactly how narcissists behave. It has been documented, analyzed and proven that planning to leave an abusive and toxic relationship is the most dangerous time for that person. Abuse is more about power and control. She had an audacious plan of retaliation if he as much as think of leaving her and she understood that she would be believed because she's a woman and told him to his face. She'd already influenced and hoodwinked his sister, best friend, security and mother of her scheme. Men are less considered to be abused and beaten by a woman in most societies. He made sure they all hated me and then he continued abusing me physically and mostly mentally ahhhh 😭😭😭 I still cry just thinking about it.
